Daily problems affecting citizens, not only in Pec, but also in other cities in the Republic of Kosovo, are closely linked to urban mobility, which have played a very important role in recent years. The citizens are faced with various problems, a large number of vehicles, low road network communication capacity, lack of adequate signalization and many other problems. The long columns of vehicles they encounter daily, especially in peak hours on the road segments, consistently come to an unhappy one and lead to dissatisfaction of the car drivers. To address these problems, they must use a broad network traffic programming that is based on appropriate strategies, infrastructures and policy solutions to be considered as an effective tool for solving problems in urban traffic. Special attention should be paid to checking the intersection (with or without light signaling), because if these intersections are well designed, they can show improvement in traffic. In fact, crossroads of road networks are those in which there are conflicts between different traffic waves, leading to delays and accidents, reducing service levels and traffic safety in these areas. Traffic leaders and experts in Peja have been working on the development of road infrastructure in the municipality for years, but the number of inhabitants has risen and the number of vehicles that adversely affects the functionality of road communications has increased. Identification and description of the problem, the increase in the number of vehicles in the town of Peja affected the reduction of capacity and service levels, reduced vehicle speed, a large number of accidents and a decrease in the level of safety. After analyzing the current situation, the best solution for solving the problem of vehicle movement in the city of Pec will be proposed. In this regard, it is important to analyze the capacity and level of service on the roads to identify the key factors that affect it, and then intervene to improve them. The purpose of the research, the main purpose of the master's thesis is to study and compile the characteristics and level of service of the intersection at the level of illumination and the circular intersection. In this thesis will be treated: 1. Roofs in the level without a signal of illumination, 2. Levels of transitions with illuminated signaling and 3. Circular passages (circular crossroads).

Tabanan Regency is one of the regencies that is traversed by the main route connecting Gilimanuk-Denpasar so that the road is known as Jalan Raya Denpasar-Gilimanuk. The road is a National Road which is the main route connecting the districts in western Bali, namely Jembrana Regency, Tabanan Regency, Badung Regency and Denpasar City. In addition, with the increasing activities of the Tabanan community, especially those in the city of Tabanan who travel either to the city of Denpasar or to other areas, passing through this route which is the main route that serves transportation activities from Tabanan to Denpasar and vice versa. In this location there are many places that cause attraction, namely shopping centers, stalls and places of worship. Therefore, congestion on these roads often occurs, especially at peak hours of traffic flow (Peak Hour). This research was conducted on the performance of roads to determine the level of service. The data analysis process uses the method of calculating the Manual Kapasitas Jalan Indonesia (MKJI) 1997). The results showed that the Tabanan-Denpasar road, Jl Ahmad Yani, during the COVID-19 pandemic PPKM level 4 was obtained, the road capacity was 2,457 smp/hour, the free flow speed was 46.48 km/hour, the degree of saturation was 0.79, the light vehicle speed value was 36 km/hour with a travel time of 25 seconds. Based on the value of the degree of saturation on the Tabanan-Denpasar road, Jl Ahmad Yani during the COVID-19 pandemic PPKM level 4 of 0.79, then the level of service for the road was entered at Service level D.

Usually, during the implementing the traffic safety policy, it is often decided to install a roundabout at an emergency junction. The reason is that roundabouts have long been considered the safest intersections due to the low number of conflict points and features to reduce vehicle speed. Unfortunately, the design of circular junctions is a responsible process, during which it is necessary to take into account not only the indicators of traffic safety but also the functional purpose of the road. It is known that the roads are classified according to their functional purpose into 3 groups: transit, connecting and access. By these groups in foreign countries are regulated geometric parameters of roads, possible types of intersections and design classes. Transit roads are subject to the highest requirements, because on these roads predominate uninterrupted traffic flow (the change in speed cannot be more than 10%) and a significant proportion of heavy-cargo vehicles, and the roundabout in such a path causes chaos due to its ability to reduce vehicle speeds (the speed drops by more than 10%). Lithuania faces a problem due to the lack of regulation of the implementation of roundabouts, the traffic congestion of vehicles, fuel consumption, traffic and increase in road accidents. It is not enough to analyze only the average annual daily traffic to design and install a roundabout. It is necessary to take into account the functional purpose of the road, the directional distribution of traffic at the intersection, the 30th-highest hour of traffic volume, capacity and level of service, in other words, to carry out a thorough analysis and research. In this article, there is the analysis of the annular intersection at the A4 Vilnius–Varėna–Gardinas 101.7 km highway. The research determines whether the level of service of the roundabouts meet road level of service according to the functional purpose of the road.

Abstract The development of vehicle connectivity and autonomy in the ground transportation sector is not only able to enhance traffic safety and driving comfort as well as fuel economy. This study presents a receding-horizon optimization-based control strategy integrated with the preceding vehicle speed prediction model to achieve an eco-driving strategy for connected and automated vehicles (CAVs). In the real traffic scenario where the CAV follows the preceding vehicle on the road, a gated recurrent unit (GRU) network is used to predict the behavior of the preceding vehicle by utilizing the historical inter-vehicle information collected through on-board sensors. Then, a nonlinear model predictive control (NMPC) algorithm is adopted for CAV to minimize the accumulated fuel consumption within the preview horizon. The NMPC approach solves the fuel-optimal speed profile of the CAV, considering a predicted short-term speed preview of the preceding vehicle. With the awareness of the preview speed conditions, the fuel consumption of the CAV is reduced by avoiding unnecessary braking and acceleration, especially during transient traffic conditions. The Pareto front framework is used to examine a trade-off between the vehicle speed prediction accuracy, computational burden, and the fuel consumption of the CAV in the proposed GRU-NMPC design. To analyze the effectiveness of the GRU-NMPC design, adaptive cruise control with constant time headway policy (ACC-CTH) is adopted as a benchmark control design. Comparison results show significant fuel economy improvement of the proposed design and expose possible fuel benefits from vehicle autonomy and sensor fusion technology.

Along with the increasing needs of people inMakassar city for the mode of transportation, the number of thegrowth of motor vehicles that operate on the road becomes largerthan the growth of the number of roads built. This has causedsome problems in the transportation sector. In addition tocongestion problems, problems arise from road surface damagedue to increasing traffic loads that must be borne by the roadsurface. To anticipate this, some strategic streets in the city ofMakassar then designed by using a rigid pavement that hasgreater strength in carrying the burden. Another problem thatarises from the growing number of motor vehicles that operateon the road is greater than the growth of the number of roadsbuilt is the higher levels of noise pollution or traffic noise. Noise issourced from the sound of a vehicle engine and the frictionbetween the vehicle tire and the road surface. So that roads withrigid surface pavement surfaces that have a rougher surfacetexture, potentially lead to higher noise levels. This study aims todetermine how much noise levels that occur in roads that userigid pavement in the city of Makassar. The road segments, suchas Jl. Abd. Dg. Sirua, Jl. Batua Raya and Jl. Adhyaksa. The toolused to measure traffic noise is the Sound Level Meter (SLM).The survey was conducted for 1 day for each of the roadsegments reviewed. The data taken are the level data of flatnessof road surface, vehicle speed data and traffic noise level data.Data processing is done by analyzing the relationship between thefactors that affect the noise with the noise level that occurs on theroad with rigid pavement. The results of this study are expectedto provide information about how big the effect of vehicle speedon the noise level that arises on the road with rigid pavement.Keyword--Noise; speed of vehicle; Rigid Pavement

Gelendzhik is the resort town, there aren't a lot of industrial enterprises here. The main pollutant is transport. The work purpose is the assessment of a condition of the artificial landings of a pine located along the Federal highway "Don" and landings, which is nearly the sea coast. Researches were conducted to a standard technique of the General vital state (A. S. Bogolyubov). The assessment of a condition of pines was carried out during 6 years: from 2010 to 2015. For carrying out research we used 6 experimental grounds on the Markotkhsky spine and 2 control grounds within the town. We investigated 24 trees on each platform, middle age of the trees were 30 - 40 years. Results. 1. The condition of trees in the pine forests located in immediate proximity with the Federal highway "Don" (No. 1, 2, 3) is unsatisfactory. As even weak influences of the majority of atmospheric gaseous pollutants (sulphurous gas, nitrogen oxides, etc.) give effect of a necrosis and hloroz of pine needles, the condition of pines is connected with technogenic pollution. So near the Federal highway "Don" the air environment is strongly polluted by exhaust gases. Information of 2012 confirm that negative influence of the route on Markotkh's vegetation decreases at reduction of load of the route. 2. On the sites located above on a slope (No. 4,5,6) thanks to remoteness and the wind mode intensity of influence of pollutants is lower and a condition of pines the quite satisfactory. 3. Trees on the sites located near the sea (No. 7,8) are in a good shape. Small deterioration of a state is noted in very droughty years. Conclusion. Results of six years' research show that the condition of the plantings which are in close proximity with the road worsens. It is explained by increase in intensity of the movement on the road, especially during a resort season. Gelendzhik is the city with a good ecological shape, but the damage to environment is already caused. If not to take measures, we can lose a unique part of the nature in the future, recreate it will be impossible. Measures of reduction of negative impact of exhaust gases were offered. Results of researches are transferred to ecological department of the City administration of Gelendzhik.

The main purpose of the article is to present how the Greek- -Macedonian naming dispute influenced the problem of implementation the international identity of Macedonia. Despite the initial problems of the government in Skopje related to determining their international identity, Macedonians managed to define the principles regarding the identification of a new state on the international stage. As a small country with limited attributes to shape its international position, Macedonia has basically been determined to seek guarantees for its existence and security in stable and predictable European international structures such as NATO and the European Union. The main obstacle for Macedonians on the road to Euro-Atlantic structures was the veto of Greece, a member of these organizations, resulting from Athens’ refusal to accept the name the Republic of Macedonia. The Prespa Agreement of 2018 gave a new impetus to the realization of the international identity of North Macedonia.

Road freight transport is a key function of modern societies. At the same time, road freight transport accounts for significant emissions. Digitalization, including automation, digitized information, and artificial intelligence, provide opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase service levels in road freight transport. Digitalization may also radically change the business ecosystem in the sector. In this paper, the question, “How will digitalization change the road freight transport landscape?” is addressed by developing four exploratory future scenarios, using Sweden as a case study. The results are based on input from 52 experts. For each of the four scenarios, the impacts on the road freight transport sector are investigated, and opportunities and barriers to achieving a sustainable transportation system in each of the scenarios are discussed. In all scenarios, an increase in vehicle kilometers traveled is predicted, and in three of the four scenarios, significant increases in recycling and urban freight flows are predicted. The scenario development process highlighted how there are important uncertainties in the development of the society that will be highly important for the development of the digitized freight transport landscape. One example is the sustainability paradigm, which was identified as a strategic uncertainty.
