This research analyzes the impact of quality of service as perceived by Hapkido students on their exercise continuation and recommendation intentions. It also identifies measures to reduce the rate of student dropout, strengthen competitiveness, and create more efficient marketing strategies for consumer patterns that are rapidly diversifying Hapkido. A questionnaire survey method was conducted with 300 middle and high school students, aged 14–19 years, with between three months and two years of Hapkido training in Incheon and Bucheon during March and April 2019. Frequency, factor, reliability, correlation, and standard multiple regression analyses were conducted on the surveyed data. The study concludes that, first, considering the impact of service quality on exercise continuation intention, service quality positively affects reliability, personification, and perceptual openness; in terms of possibility, it positively affects typicality, personification, and perceptual openness; and in terms of reinforcement, it positively affects reliability and perceptual openness. Second, regarding the impact of service quality on recommendation intention, it positively affects reliability, personification, and perceptual openness. Third, exercise continuation intention positively affects recommendation intention. This study suggests that various efforts should be made to increase the reliability, tangibility, confidence, and empathy of the service quality to increase the exercise continuation and recommendation intentions of the trainees of Hapkido gymnasiums.

Social networks are a way of creating a virtual identity and entering into relationships with strangers in a series of interactions that were not known to a man before the existence of the Internet. Mobile phones and the virtual world often create a personality of a person that is not the same in the real world. It can be said that technology has changed the course of humanity and human consciousness and contributed to many changes in the mentality of society, especially among the youth. Children are often overwhelmed by materialism and jealousy, which further encourages them to become an unconscious, immoral and unambitious population. One of the negative effects of social networks is the abuse of privacy, which is also becoming a growing problem everywhere in the world and should not be ignored. However, a positive attitude should be maintained when it comes to social networks, because they facilitate communication, access to information and learning, greater availability of services and free advertising of some products or services. High school students use the Internet intensively every day, and the work raises the question of whether they use it constructively or destructively. The research was conducted in 2019, the population of high school students was observed and 100 students were included on the territory of Belgrade, Niš and Vitina.

Millions of people in the world are suffering from scarcity of food, yet tons of food are wasted every day.  This study was conducted to determine the food wastage of high school students and the service quality of a cafeteria located in Silang, Cavite. Convenience sampling was utilized to select high school students enrolled in the school where the cafeteria is situated to participate in the study. A descriptive-evaluative research design was used and data gathered were analyzed using descriptive statistics such as frequency, mean, and standard deviation. Quarter waste method was used to measure plate wastage while adopted questionnaire was used to determine the service quality of the cafeteria. Findings revealed that the highest percentage of food wastage was gluten followed by ground vegescallop, vegemeat, tofu, and beans. In terms of service quality, the lowest percentage was the dining area (Mean= 2.95 and SD= 0.80), followed by Food Quality (Mean=3.44 and SD= 0.80), Food Variety (Mean= 3.76 and SD= 0.61), Personnel employees’ service (Mean= 3.80 and SD= 0.79), and Serving time (Mean= 3.85 and SD= 0.80). Among the five protein foods that incurred a leftover, gluten has the highest percentage of waste while among the five factors contributing to the service quality of a cafeteria, dining area has the lowest percentage. Based on the results, the use of gluten as part of the meal and the dining area as a place to eat should be improved to lessen the food wastage and enhance the service quality, respectively.

The development of social competences represents an integrated part of an individual’s development and is important for the proper functioning within the society. The excessive focus of school on the students’ cognitive development more often leads to neglecting the development of students’ social competences, which are crucial to the students’ healthy prosocial development. Social competences are analyzed within the fields of pedagogical and psychological sciences, lately being attached particular importance. The most convenient for exploring the level of the development of social competences is the school environment, given that students spend most of the time there. The aim of our research was to investigate the correlation between the quality of school environment and social competences among high school students (technical and general-education high schools). The present study results were obtained employing a content analysis method (the theoretical part), a survey method, and a survey technique. The results show that the quality of school life is strongly correlated to the level of the development of students’ social competences. The strongest correlation is observed in the subcategories: general school satisfaction, social integration and preparation for the future, while in the sub-categories of negative feelings toward school and learning experience the correlation is partial. The findings of the current paper might serve as a prelude to planning programs, within school curricula, aimed at improving students’ social competences.

The aim of this paper was to carry out a socio-pedagogical analysis of peer violence, the quality of high school students’ family and school life, and to examine the relationship between peer violence and the quality of family and school life among high school students. The research was conducted employing a method of theoretical analysis and a descriptive-analytical survey method. Furthermore, scaling and survey techniques were applied. The research instruments included a Peer Violence Questionnaire, a Perception of Family Relations Scale and a Quality of Life in School Questionnaire. The research sample comprised 300 high school students, namely the first, second and third graders. The research results showed that there is a statistically significant relationship between peer violence and the quality of family and school life, i.e. the high school students who report a higher level of peer violence at the same time obtain lower scores on the scales of family and school life. Moreover, the results indicate that high school students experiencing a higher quality of family relations and a higher quality of school life are statistically significantly less likely to be victims and perpetrators of peer violence. In the conclusions we emphasize the need for the development of a quality parenting education program, the need for urgent socio-pedagogical interventions in schools to assist bullies and victims of peer violence, the need to include social pedagogues as expert associates in the educational work of schools, as well as the need for introducing a unique model of peer violence prevention that would be compulsory in elementary and high schools in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Although service quality has been found to be a key concept for organizations, it has rarely been applied to the leisure activities of adolescents. Therefore, in this research we examined the relationships among adolescents' expectations of quality, perceptions of quality of actual experiences, and satisfaction with those experiences. We also examined the relationship between expectation and actual experience in terms of the adolescents' satisfaction. A privately owned theme park in the middle of Taiwan was chosen as the location for the study and 392 high school students were recruited to take part. The results of regression analysis showed that adolescents' service expectations directly affect both their perceptions of actual experiences and their satisfaction. In addition, it was found that the adolescents' perceptions of actual experiences mediated between their service quality expectations and their satisfaction.

ABSTRACTContextDuring the fall of 2020, some high schools across the US allowed their students to participate in interscholastic sports while others cancelled or postponed their sport programs due to concerns regarding CoVID19 transmission. It is unknown what effect this has had on the physical and mental health of student athletes.ObjectiveIdentify the impact of playing a sport during the CoVID19 pandemic on the health of student athletes.DesignCross-sectional study.SettingSample recruited via email.Patients or Other Participants559 Wisconsin high school athletes (age=15.7+1.2 yrs., female=44%) from 44 high schools completed an online survey in October 2020. A total of 171 (31%) athletes played (PLY) a fall sport, while 388 (69%) did not play (DNP).Main Outcome Measure(s)Demographics included: sex, grade and sports played. Assessments included the General Anxiety Disorder-7 Item (GAD-7) for anxiety, Patient Health Questionnaire-9 Item (PHQ-9) for depression, the Pediatric Functional Activity Brief Scale (PFABS) for physical activity, and the Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory 4.0 (PedsQL) for quality of life. Univariable comparisons between the two groups were made via t-tests or chi-square tests. Means for each continuous outcome measure were compared between the groups by ANOVA models that controlled for Age, Sex, Teaching method (Virtual, Hybrid, or In-person), and the % of students eligible for free lunch.RESULTSPLY group participants were less likely to report moderate to severe symptoms of anxiety (PLY=6.6%, DNP=44.1%, p<0.001) and depression (PLY=18.2%, DNP=40.4%, p<0.001). PLY athletes reported higher (better) PFABS scores (mean: [95%CI]), (PLY=23.2[22.0,24.5], DNP=16.4[15.0,17.8], p <0.001) and higher (better) PedsQL total scores (PLY=88.4[85.9,90.9], DNP=79.6[76.8,82.4], p <0.001).CONCLUSIONSAdolescent athletes who played a sport during the CoVID19 pandemic reported fewer symptoms of anxiety and depression, as well as higher physical activity and quality of life scores compared to adolescent athletes who did not play a sport.Key pointsHigh school students who played a sport during the CoVID-19 pandemic in the fall of 2020 were less likely to report anxiety and depression symptoms than athletes who did not play a sport.High school students who played a sport during the CoVID-19 pandemic in the fall of 2020 reported higher physical activity and quality of life scores compared to high school athletes who did not play a sport.Participation in high school sports may have significant physical and mental health benefits for US adolescent athletes during the CoVID-19 pandemic.
