One of the most widely researched issue on higher education relates to exposed paths that lead to academic success. Nowadays information systems represent an essential part of the education sector in many universities. In particular, the increasing of the number of students in higher education in Portugal leads to the progressive increase of student’s data contained in institutional information systems. This article aims to include the use of student data contained in the Fénix information system of a Portuguese higher educational institution, turning their information in an internal tool, to assist analysis and studies of internal academic success. Providing relevant data for queries can offer a clearer explanation of the paths to success in higher education. It can also help the identification of problems and failures aiming to support a more effective intervention of institutions and researchers to improve the academic success.

The article describes the features of the use of modern information systems in the activities of the department of higher education institutions. The essence of information systems and the tasks they can perform are revealed. The features of relational and social interaction are described. The basic components of the parts that form the internal information base are determined. The directions of the introduction of information and communication technologies in the management and educational activity of an educational institution are considered. The dependence of the information system effectiveness on the correct strategy for the development, acquisition and use of software products is determined. The article describes the ways of developing and developing information management systems in a higher educational institution It is proved that the information systems use is a prerequisite for the activity of a modern higher education institution, which will promote the adoption of sound strategic management decisions aimed at increasing competitiveness and creating an adequate and efficient infrastructure.

The purpose of this study was to determine the role of academic information systems in improving the quality of higher education implementation in PGRI STKIP Bangkalan, and the extent to which the policies of implementing higher education before and after the use of information systems and how satisfaction is felt by students towards academic information systems at STKIP PGRI Bangkalan, named STKIP PGRI Bangkalan’s Siakad.The study was conducted by conducting a survey of users of the internet-based academic information system (Siakad STKIP PGRI Bangkalan), namely lecturers, students and employees with the method of observation and conducting in-depth interviews to obtain as much information as possible from all respondents/informants. The number of informants was 5 people consisting of the chairman of STKIP PGRI Bangkalan, Vice Chairman I, Head of BAAK and two students who had experience in their respective fields of work, knew deeply and had many roles in the process of using information systems.Based on the results of the study, it was shown that with the use of the information system/ STKIP PGRI Bangkalan’s Siakad which is one of the facilities for the smooth activities of the teaching and learning process, it proved to provide convenience, many benefits and benefits that greatly support the duties of serving lecturers, students and outsiders requiring. This is evidenced by the support of the support of lecturers and students, capacity, namely the ability of employees to process data and value, namely the benefits felt by lecturers, employees and students as well as outside parties in need.

Portal-based solutions have been proved in practice to be a promising technology that offers companies a way to transform and integrate their information systems more effectively and at lower cost. The main point of this paper is to discuss the use of portals in institutions of higher education. We examine the motivating factors that drive higher-education institutions to use portal-based solutions. As an example, we explain how the University of Ljubljana is taking advantage of portal technology and what benefits are to be expected from the use of portals as core components of the university’s new user-centric information system.

The purpose of this article is to analyse the interaction between the dynamic information environment (IE) and the operational environment to promote the cooperation of the higher education institution with business life and enhance the external impact of the institution on its environment. The dynamic IEs are analysed to manage the information systems and internal processes in an educational institution and their cooperating partners. This article is organised as follows: The article introduces the approach of IEs and operational environments. Then the concept of a dynamic IE is used to analyse the information systems used in the core internal processes of the higher education institution. The study also describes the partnership in a dynamic IE. Thereafter, a short case study is presented about partnership using the electronic Optima platform at the Turku University of Applied Sciences (TUAS). Finally, the results of the study are summarised in the concluding section.

One of quality assessment and the feasibility of higher education institutions and courses is accreditation. To achieve the desired accreditation value, universities and study programs must adjust the internal conditions in accordance with the standards given by the National Accreditation Board of Higher Education (BAN-PT). In most courses, all the data are scattered on different physical information systems and documents so that it takes more time and effort to integrate it into judgment. So required a system that is able to automatically retrieve and display the evaluation results with more efficient time and effort. One form of visualization that can meet it is by using a dashboard system that can integrate the entire contents of the supporting data so that when the evaluation process will get information about what parts are lacking or that already meet the standards. Abstrak--- Dalam suatu lembaga pendidikan atau sekolah sistem informasi akademik  sangat dibutuhkan guna membantu murid serta pendidik untuk mendapatkan berbagai informasi,seperti informasi mengenai data diri siswa, jadwal akademik, dan info lainnya. Jarak dan Efisiensi waktu menjadi faktor utama bagi para siswa dalam mendapatkan informasi, sering kali informasi yang tidak sampai ke pihak siswa serta keterlambatan dalam meraih informasi akademik menjadi suatu keluhan dan seiring berkembangnya tekonologi, informasi harus mudah di capai dengan mengembangkan aplikasi perangkat mobile berbasis android sebagai sarana utama informasi, khususnya dibidang akademik. Aplikasi SMART DEWAN adalah aplikasi yang di peruntukan untuk siswa SMK Dewantara 2 Cikarang di mana digunakan untuk mempermudah absensi, ujian, pembayaran dan informasi bagi siswa SMK Dewantara 2 Cikarang.   Kata Kunci: Sistem Informasi , Sistem Informasi Sekolah, Mobile system , Android.   Abstract--in an educational institution or school an academic information system is needed to help students and educators to obtain various information, such as information about student self-data, academic schedules, and other info. Distance and time efficiency are the main factors for students in getting information, often the information that does not reach the students and the delay in obtaining academic information becomes a complaint and as technology develops, information must be easily achieved by developing an Android-based mobile device application as main means of information, especially in the academic field. Abstract: In the current era, information technology is growing very rapidly, especially developments in information systems. The information system is one of the supports of an agency, both government and private institutions, from the fields of economy, business to education. Rumah Qu'an Tegal is a non-formal educational institution that is engaged in Al-Qur'an Education. With the many activities in Qu'an House it will be very time consuming if all data is managed manually, an information system that can be used is needed. To assist management in managing activity data easily, effectively and efficiently by using a website-based information system. The website is a form of information system that is often used, the website can display all forms of information digitally in the form of text, images, and animations that can be accessed quickly and realtime using an internet connection, can be accessed anywhere, anytime. , so it is very helpful in the process of disseminating information, because it can be conveyed quickly. The method used in the development of information systems is to use the Waterfall method. This information system is built using the programming language PHP, HTML, CSS, Javascript in a codeigniter framework using an atomic text editor. The results of this study are the use of user information systems, namely the Muslim community generally knows if starting from carrying out activities to carrying out activities, facilitating information to become students and students, as well as other information accurately, efficiently and relevant.Keywords: Website, Information System, Waterfall, CodeIgniterAbstrak: Pada era sekarang ini teknologi informasi berkembang sangat pesat, terutama perkembangan pada sistem informasi. Sistem informasi merupakan salah satu penunjang dari suatu instansi, baik instansi pemerintah, swasta, dari bidang ekonomi, bisnis hingga pendidikan. Rumah Qu’an Tegal merupakan sebuah lembaga pendidikan non formal yang bergerak dalam bidang Penddikan Al-Qur’an, Dengan banyaknya kegiatan yang ada di Rumah Qu’an akan sangat memakan waktu jika semua data dikelola secara manual, maka diperlukan suatu sistem informasi yang dapat membantu pengurus dalam mengelola data kegiatan dengan mudah, efektif dan efisien yaitu dengan menggunakan sistem informasi bebasis website. Website merupakan salah satu bentuk sistem infromasi yang sering digunakan, pada website dapat menampilkan segala bentuk informasi secara digital baik itu dalam bentuk teks, gambar, dan animasi yang dapat diakses secara cepat dan realtime dengan menggunakan koneksi internet, dapat diakses dimana saja, dan kapan saja, sehingga sangat membantu dalam proses penyebaran informasi, karena dapat tersampaikan dengan cepat. Metode yang digunakan dalam pembagunan sistem informasi adalah dengan menggunakan metode Waterfall. Sistem informasi ini dibangun dengan menggunakan bahasa pemrograman PHP, HTML, CSS, Javascript dalam framework codeigniter dengan menggunakan text editor atom. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah penggunaan sistem informasi user yakni masyarakat muslim umumnya mengetahui jika mulai dari akan mengadakaan kegiatan sampai dengan telah melaksanakan kegiatan, memudahkan informasi menjadi santiwa dan santriwati, serta informasi lainya secara akurat, efisien dan relevan.Kata kunci: Website, Sistem Informasi, Waterfall, CodeIgniter

Purpose of Study: The undeniable fact that information at this time has been viewed as a very potential resource. Infor- mation is the only source needed by a leader of an educational institution. Information can be processed from other sources that are influenced by very complex organizations and owned computer devices. Methodology: Information processed using a computer can be used by an organizational leader and an individual with expertise as a means of communication and problem solving, as well as valuable information in the decision making the process. Results: In general from the results of research that researchers do indeed the combination of human resources and infor- mation technology applications that are tried to apply have been done. But this is not an easy matter, of course, depending on the focus of the development of management information systems individually sees the needs that are needed now. Implications/Applications: After studying and analyzing about the utilization of education management information sys- tem in decision making hence writer concludes that; first, decision making needs good information, second, irrelevant information will cause wrong judgment in making decision, third, the main basis of framework of information system utilization in taking decisions all information presented by the information system should be aimed at supporting certain phases of the decision-making process; fourth, the utilization framework of management information systems in decision making can also be used to assess an ongoing reporting system, fifth, decision making in education is an important part that should be done well by managers or other officials.
