Azotobacter chroococcum based biofertilizers have been widely used in the production of environmentally agriculture. For commercial scale, cheap growth media for Azotobcter inoculant  will affect the quality and price of liquid biofertilizer. Growth medium should support cell proliferation as well as its  nitrogen fixation and phytohormone production.  The objective of this study was to determine whether  liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) containing low N can be used as a medium for scaling up  A. chroococcum inoculant without lowering the survival of bacteria and its activity in N2 fixation and phytohormones production. LOF generally contains a complete nutrient although in a small quantities. Experiment was set up in completely randomized design which tested two types of commercial LOF. The results showed that both of  LOF were only able to support cell growth up to 72 hours and at 96 hours cell viability began to decline compared to the control medium,  free-N Ashby. At 72 hour total N and cytokinin  concentration in LOF was lower than those in Ashby media. This study revealed  that LOF  could be used as A. chroococcum growth media, but without optimization of its composition, cell density and cytokinin content would be lower than those of inoculant  in Ashby Media.

Agricultural waste, such as sago ‘ela’ or sago extraction waste, can be used as an organic fertilizer to improve the physical, chemical and biological properties of the soil. In addition to organic fertilizer from sago ‘ela’, microorganisms can also be used to increase soil fertility. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of sago ‘ela’ compost and antagonistic microorganisms in the process of changing acidity (pH and Al-exc), availability of P, and total N in Ultisols soil. The research took place at the Laboratory of Soil, Water, and Plant Analysis, Faculty of Agriculture, Pattimura University, Ambon, in June - September 2016. The experiment was carried out with a completely randomized design (CRD) with a factorial arrangement of 4 x 3, with 3 replications. The treatments of providing sago ‘ela’ compost consisted of: no compost (K0), 15 g/kg of soil (K1), 22, 5 g/kg of soil (K2), 30 g/kg of soil (K3). Inoculum provision of antagonistic microorganisms consisted of: without inoculum (A0), Trichoderma sp inoculum 20 mL (A1), and Azotobacter sp inoculum 20 mL (A2). The experiment used 3 replications. The results showed that soil pH was increased by compost and antagonistic microorganisms. However, the effect of compost does not depend on the presence or absence of antagonistic microorganisms and vice versa. Al-exc concentrations were reduced by compost and microorganisms, but the effect of microorganisms only occurred in the soil without compost and in the treatment of 15 g/kg of soil (K1). Above these compost doses, the effect of microorganisms was not significant. The concentrations of available P and total soil N were increased by compost and microorganisms, and the effect of compost was greater if accompanied by the application of Azotobacter sp. Keywords: acid soil, antagonistic microorganisms, compost, sago‘ela’   ABSTRAK Limbah pertanian, seperti ela sagu atau limbah ekstraksi sagu, dapat digunakan sebagai bahan pupuk organik untuk memperbaiki sifat fisik, kimia dan biologi tanah. Selain pupuk organik dari ela sagu, mikroorganisme juga dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan kesuburan tanah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji pengaruh pemberian kompos ela sagu dan mikroorganisme antagonis dalam proses perubahan kemasaman (pH dan Al-dd), ketersediaan P, dan N total pada tanah Ultisols. Penelitian berlangsung di Laboratorium Analisis Tanah, Air, dan Tanaman Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Pattimura Ambon, pada bulan Juni - September 2016. Percobaan dilakukan dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan pola faktorial 4 × 3, dengan tiga ulangan. Perlakuan pemberian kompos ela sagu terdiri atas: tanpa kompos (K0), 15 g/kg tanah (K1), 22,5 g/kg tanah (K2), 30 g/kg tanah (K3). Pemberian inokulum mikroorganisme antagonis terdiri atas: tanpa inokulum (A0), inokulum Trichoderma sp 20 mL (A1), dan inokulum Azotobacter sp 20 mL (A2), Percobaan menggunakan 3 ulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pH tanah ditingkatkan oleh kompos dan mikroorganisme antagonis. Tetapi, pengaruh kompos tidak tergantung pada ada atau tidak adanya mikroorganisme antagonis dan sebaliknya. Kosentrasi Al-dd diturunkan oleh kompos dan mikroorganisme, tetapi pengaruh mikroorganisme hanya terjadi pada tanah yang tidak diberi kompos dan pada perlakuan 15 g/kg tanah (K1). Di atas dosis kompos tersebut pengaruh mikroorganisme tidak nyata. Konsentrasi P tersedia dan N total tanah ditingkatkan oleh kompos dan mikroorganisme, dan pengaruh kompos lebih besar jika disertai pemberian Azotobacter sp. Research on the response of roots of palm sugar palm seeds (Arenga pinnata) in nurseries at doses and intervals of Nasa liquid organic fertilizer. Aims to determine the dosage, interval and combination of dosages and fertilization intervals with Nasa liquid organic fertilizer which can provide the best dry weight of the roots in the nursery. The research design used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 3x3 factorial experiments and each treatment was repeated 8 (eight) times, consisting of: the first factor was the treatment of POC Nasa dose in a concentration of 3 cc POC Nasa per liter of water (D) consists of 3 levels, namely: d1 = 300 ml POC Nasa, d2 = 400 ml POC Nasa, d3 = 500 ml POC Nasa, while the second factor is the treatment of POC Nasa Interval (I) consisting of 3 levels, namely: i1 = 2 once a week, i2 = once every 3 weeks, i3 = once every 4 weeks. The results of the POC Nasa dose study had a significant effect on leaf wet weight, leaf dry weight, root wet weight and root dry weight. The best dose at this level are: d2 (400 ml of Nasa liquid organic fertilizer), the interval of liquid organic fertilizer Nasa has a significant effect on leaf wet weight, leaf dry weight, root wet weight and root dry weight. The best dose at this level is: i1 (once every 2 weeks). The treatment combination has no significant effect on all parameters.

The aim of this study was to prove that Arabica coffee introgressed with C. liberica, have resistance to Meloidogyne paranaensis (Mp). Open pollinated fruits were harvested from mother plants of 29 Arabica coffee genotypes from the IAPAR germplasm bank. Seeds were collected from the fruits and were sown to obtain seedlings to test the resistance to Mp. The experiment was set up in a completely randomized design with 29 coffee genotypes, 8 replications, and one plant per plot. Cultivars Catuaí Vermelho IAC 99 and IPR 100 were used as susceptible and resistant checks, respectively. Seedlings with three to four pairs of leaves were inoculated with 1,400 eggs and juveniles J2 of Mp (IP). At 120 days after inoculation, seedlings were evaluated by counting the nematodes per gram of roots, and the final nematodes population was obtained (FP). The reproduction factor (RF) was calculated using the formula: RF = FP/IP. The reproduction factor reduction was used to classify the resistance levels of genotypes, which were classified as highly resistant (HR), resistant (R), moderately resistant (MR), moderately susceptible (MS), susceptible (S) an highly susceptible (HS). All genotypes differed from Catuaí in resistance factor (RF), five of which did not differ from IPR 100 for RF, and only the line IAPAR 15242 had RF < 1.0. Out of 28 Arabica genotypes introgressed with C. liberica, five HR, 11 R, 11 MR and one MS were identified. However, only IAPAR 15242 and IPR 100 were classified as HR and presented 100% of HR plants, but only the first showed an RF < 1.0. Results revealed that these Arabica coffee genotypes with introgression of C. liberica genes have great potential to be used in breeding programs and they are a new alternative as a source of resistance.

The research objective was determine the effect of various growth media and growmore fertilizer on the acclimatization of Dendrobium orchids. study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) Factorial consisting of 2 factors, the first is (M) of growing media which consists of 3 levels, namely: M1 (medium fern root), M2 (wood charcoal medium), M3 (coir media coconut) and the second is (G) growmore fertilizer which consists of 4 levels, namely: G0 (without Growmore fertilizer), G1 (Growmore fertilizer 2 g / liter), G2 (fertilizer Growmore 4 g / liter), G3 (Growmore fertilizer 6 g / liter). Determine the growth of orchid plants, observations were made with the following parameters Growth Percentage (%), Plant Height (cm), Number of leaves (strands), and Number of tillers (stems). Data obtained were analyzed statistically, then continued with the Honestly Significant Difference Test (BNJ) at the level of 5%. The results showed that the single treatment of the use of growing media did not have a significant effect on the parameters of observation of growth percentage (%), plant height (cm), number of leaves (strands), and number of tillers (stems). The growth of growmore fertilizer also did not show a significant effect on the parameters of observation of growth percentage (%), plant height (cm), number of leaves (strands), and number of tillers (stems). Interaction of the use of various growth media and growmore fertilizer did not show a significant effect on the percentage of growth (%), plant height (cm), number of leaves (strands), and number of tillers (stems).

Abstract The use of chemical fertilizers in agriculture has caused soil degradation and is harmful to human health. Organic fertilizers made from animal waste have received worldwide attention because they are not detrimental to health or the environment. This paper describes the effect of using organic fertilizers from chicken manure on the growth of papaya plants. A completely randomized design was used in this study using two factors and three repetitions; the variations of the fertilizers given were 0, 50, 100, 150, and 200 g. This study informed that organic chicken manure had a significant effect on the growth of oil palm and papaya plants. The best growth is oil palm and papaya plants given 200 g of organic fertilizer from chicken manure.

Whey waste contains organic materials, particularly high complex proteins and amino acids in the form of suspended and dissolved solids, however the utilization of whey as a organic liquid fertilizer still has a less attention. Thus the Utilization of the whey waste through anaerobic process to be used as a organic liquid fertilizer is the purpose of the research. This research was conducted using factorial design with completely randomized design (CRD) which consists of two factors: the yeast concentration (without yeast; 0.25 and 0.50 g/500 ml of whey waste) and the fermentation time (0, 3, and 5 days). The variables measured were the content of organic C, C/N Ratio, and Total N, P2O5 and K2O contents. The results showed that the fermented whey waste on the different fermentation time and yeast concentration had increased the organic C and C/N ratio, but decreased P2O5 and K2O contents. The utilization of whey combined with solid or other liquid wastes gave a chance to produce a quality organic liquid fertilizer

Effect of NASA Liquid Organic Fertilizer and Compost Fertilizer on Kenaf Plant Growth (Hibiscus cannabinus L). This study aims to determine the effect of NASA POC, compost fertilizer and the interaction of NASA POC and compost fertilizer on kenaf plants. This research was carried out at East Borneo Samarinda Indonesia. with a time of ± 4 months, starting from June to September 2016. The design of the study uses factorial completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 2 treatments and 4 replications. The treatment consists of 2 factors. The first factor is the administration of NASA POC consisting of 4 levels, namely: j0: Control (without treatment), j1: POC with a concentration of 10 ml / liter of water, j2: POC with a concentration of 15 ml / liter of water, j3: POC with a concentration of 20 ml / liter of water. The second factor is Compost fertilizer consisting of 4 levels, namely: k0: Without the provision of Compost Fertilizer, k1: Composting 500 gram / polybag, k2: Composting Fertilizer 700 grams / polybag, k3: Composting 800 grams / polybag. From the analysis of variance showed that the effect of giving NASA POC (J), compost (K) and the interaction of NASA POC and compost (JK) did not affect the parameters of plant height 30 DAP, 60 DAP and 90 DAP, stem diameter 30 DAP, 60 DAP and 90 DAP, number of leaves 30 DAP, 60 DAP and 90 DAP, leaf area 30 DAP, 60 DAP and 90 DAP.

Abstract This study aimed to identify the optimum rice stem cutting size combined with the application of Seprint liquid organic fertilizer (SLOF) to promote the growth and yield of ratoon rice. This research was conducted in a greenhouse at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara, North Sumatra Province, Indonesia, from January to August 2018. The experiment was set up as a completely randomized design factorial with four replications. The first factor consisted of the cutting sizes of the rice stem (R1 = 5 cm, R2 = 10 cm, and R3 = 15 cm) and the second factor involved the SLOF dosage (S1 = 5 mL L −1 , S2 = 10 mL L −1 , and S3 = 15 mL L −1 ). The parameters were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA), and the means were determined by Duncan’s multiple range test (DMRT). The results showed that the R2 treatment significantly increased the ratoon rice height at 10 to 30 days after cutting (DAC), the number of tillers at 40 to 60 DAC, the number of productive tillers, and the yield per hectare. The S2 and S3 applications at significantly increased the yield per hill and ratoon rice height at 20 DAC. The R2S1 and R2S2 combination treatments significantly increased the number of filled grains per panicle and the ratoon rice height at 10 DAC. Cutting the stems at 10 cm combined with various dosages of SLOF resulted in greater growth and yield of ratoon rice for achieving an adequate food supply.

Many sources of raw materials which allegedly can enrich the nutrient content in the organic fertilizer. ABSTRAK Penelitian dengan metode eksperimental yang bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh kombinasi dosis pemupukan kompos organik dan penambahan azolla terhadap pertumbuhan rumput raja (Pennisetum purpureophoides). Penelitian telah dilakukan pada tanggal 1 April sampai 30 September 2020 terletak di lahan pertanian, Desa Beji, Kecamatan Kedungbanteng, Kabupaten Banyumas. Percobaan menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap pola faktorial dengan faktor pertama adalah dosis pupuk kompos organik yakni 10, 20, dan 30 ton ha-1, dan penambahan azolla yakni 10, 20, 30 persen dari faktor pertama sehingga dihasilkan 9 kombinasi perlakuan. Setiap kombinasi perlakuan diulang sebanyak 3 kali sehingga menghasilkan 27 satuan percobaan. Tanaman rumput raja pada pemotongan kedua ditanam pada lahan seluas 400 meter persegi dengan jarak tanam 80 x 40 cm. Pupuk kompos organik yang digunakan berasal dari kotoran sapi potong yang telah selesai proses pengomposan, dan azolla berasal dari lahan persawahan. Parameter penelitian yang diukur adalah tinggi tanaman, dan diameter batang yang diukur pada hari ke 14, 28, dan 42 hari. Data yang telah diperoleh kemudian dianalisis menggunakan analisis variansi (ANOVA) dan dilanjutkan dengan uji orthogonal polinomial. Hasil menunjukan bahwa pemberian dosis kompos berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap tinggi tanaman dan diameter batang, sedangkan pemberian pupuk azolla juga berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap tinggi tanaman dan diameter batang, akan tetapi interaksi tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05). Pemberian dosis pupuk kompos organik dapat digunakan untuk mencapat pertumbuhan rumput raja yang terbaik sebesar 30 ton ha-1 dan penambahan azolla sebesar 30 persen dari dosis pupuk organik. From April 1 to September 30, 2020, research was conducted on agricultural land, Beji Village, Kedungbanteng District, Banyumas Regency. The experiment used a completely randomized design with a factorial pattern with the first factor being the dose of organic compost, namely 10, 20, and 30 tons ha-1, and the addition of Azolla, namely 10, 20, 30 percent of the first factor, resulting in 9 treatment combinations. Each treatment combination was repeated three times to produce 27 experimental units. The king grass plant in the second cutting was planted on ??400 square meters with a spacing of 80 x 40 cm. The organic compost used is derived from beef cattle dung that has finished the composting process, and Azolla comes from rice fields. Research parameters measured were plant height and stem diameter measured on days 14, 28, and 42 days. The data that had been obtained were then analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and continued with the orthogonal polynomial test. The results showed that the dose of compost had a very significant effect (P<0.01) on plant height and stem diameter, while the application of Azolla fertilizer also had a very significant effect (P<0.01) on plant height and stem diameter, but the interaction had no effect significant (P>0.05). Dosage of organic compost can be used to achieve the best king grass growth of 30 tons ha-1 and the addition of Azolla by 30 percent of the dose of organic fertilizer.
