Prevalence of Superstitious Belief among the (ST) Scheduled Tribe Students of Nalbari District

Present study has been undertaken by the investigator among the Scheduled Tribe students of Nalbari district in the state of Assam to identify their different types of superstitious behaviour.  Two null hypotheses have been formulated in the present paper – firstly, there is no significant difference between Male and Female ST Students towards superstitious beliefs and secondly, there is no significant difference between graduate and Post- Graduate students towards superstitious beliefs. Total 80 students sample has been selected for testing the hypotheses. No significant difference between Male and Female towards superstitious beliefs was found and in case of 2nd hypothesis also no significant difference between graduate and Post- Graduate students towards superstitious beliefs was observed. Further, in the present paper, the investigator has tried to draw attention of all kinds of educated people towards the harmful effects of superstitions in the society and put forward suggestions to make a society free from social evils due to superstition in India.

The purpose of the present study was to study the emotional intelligence of post graduate students in HNBGU (Uttarakhand) and Jammu University (J&K) state of India. The sample was post graduate students (120) which were taken from two different courses (Arts & Science) from HNBGU and Jammu University. The total sample was equally divided among male and female. The main objectives of the study were to the influence of Region, stream and gender on Emotional Intelligence. Emotional intelligence inventory by S.K. Mangal and Shubhra Mangal was used as a tool. T-test was used as statistical technique to the results. Results revealed that there was a significant difference between students of HNBGU and Jammu University on Emotional Intelligence.

Purpose: The major objective of this study was to study Spiritual Intelligence among post graduate students. Operational Terms: Spiritual intelligence is defined as the intelligence essential to realize inner self. It focuses on accommodative and wise utilization of spiritual information to solve problems and achieve goals. Methodology: This study undertakes a survey of the post graduate male and female students of Sirsa District (Haryana) to determine their spiritual intelligence. A sample of 100 students and their responses to different dimensions of Spiritual Intelligence (Critical Existential Awareness, Personal Production, Transcendental Awareness and Conscious State Awareness) were collected using a standardized tool “Spiritual Intelligence self-inventory” developed by David. King (2008). In order to evaluate the responses, t-test was applied. Results: The results revealed that there is no significant difference in spiritual intelligence between male and female post graduate students.

The current study is an endeavour to post graduate students in Emotional Maturity. Total 200 students were selected in Rajkot city. Emotional maturity test developed by Dr. Mahesh Bhargav was used for analyze of the data. And result is Significant difference between emotional maturity among boys and girls student and significant different between emotional maturity among rural and urban post graduate student.

The current paper intends to describe the practice and analyze the results of using the website Write & Improve as an additional extra-class tool of developing writing skills in the course of preparation for the FCE exam for post-graduate students. The study has proven the hypothesis that the proposed algorithm for working with the service Write & Improve is effective for teaching FCE Writing for post-graduate students, and provided the experimental research of learners’ progress. Theoretical (analysis and synthesis), empirical (observation, testing, conducting pedagogical experiment) and statistical (calculating the Mean and the Standard Deviation) methods were used to achieve the stated aim. A significant difference was observed in the experimental group of 32 Kharkiv post-graduate university students where the experiment was carried out in 2017/2018 academic year. The obtained results of the experimental research demonstrate post-graduate students’ progress in the FCE Writing Test and can be regarded as the evidence that the service Write & Improve does have a positive impact on mastering post-graduate students’ writing skills. Furthermore, comparing the test results according to 5-band scale in four different criteria (Content, Communicative Achievement, Organization, Language) at the different stages of the course allowed to measure the development rate of the checked English writing skills. The resulting data confirmed the improvement in post-graduate students’ performance in all the criteria of Writing on average by 36.1%; the most significant progress has been in Language (vocabulary and grammar aspects) with the average increase from 3.0 to 4.5 scores (50 %) whereas the least advance to be claimed is in Communicative Achievement with the results ranging from 2.8 to 3.6 (28.6%); it proves the substantial increase. Provided that Write & Improve is implemented systematically with a careful consideration of post-graduate students’ problems and needs, the application of it can be said to have the obvious correlation with post-graduate students’ progress. The authors’ experience is significant in Ukrainian learning context as it proves the effectiveness of using innovative online instruments to teach English Writing to post-graduate students who aim to pass FCE exam.

The present study aimed to assess the level of adjustment of post-graduate science and social science students. It was hypothesized that post-graduate science students have lower adjustment than post-graduate social science students. It was also hypothesized that post-graduate social science male students have lower adjustment than post-graduate social science female students. Post-graduate science male students have lower adjustment than post-graduate science female students. In order to verify the above hypotheses a sample of 160 subjects with science and social-science background were selected from the Karnatak University Dharwad, Karnatak, India. Each group consist to 80 subjects with male (N=40) and female (N=40). To measure the adjustment, Adjustment Inventory developed and standardized by Asthana (1967) was administered individually, it has 42 items. The data were subjected to ‘t’ analyses and the major findings of the study revealed that the science post-graduate students have significantly higher level of adjustment than social-science post-graduate students. There is no significant difference between the male students of social science and science departments and also the female students of science departments. There is significant difference between the science male and science female students on adjustment pattern.

Given that anxiety is a significant individual disposition that affects sports performance, this study aimed to verify the latent variables obtained by the State – Trait Anxiety Inventory X-2, and to compare the obtained factor solutions with the proposed model of latent variables. The second aim refers to the presentation of the results of the questionnaire State – Trait Anxiety Inventory X-2 answered by Serbian male and female handball players. The research was conducted on a sample of 170 respondents, 99 male and 71 female handball players, aged 14 to 39 years (average age = 21.9) with an average handball playing career of 9.39 years. Towards the end of 2019, the respondents filled in the above-mentioned questionnaire used to assess anxiety as a personality trait. Exploratory factor analysis with certain modifications of the algorithm was applied to determine accurately latent space. The overall analysis was performed using the R statistical package. Four factors were selected based on the conducted factor analysis of the latent space of the questionnaire. Ten, five, three and two items are projected on the first, second, third and fourth factor respectively. Since internal reliability of the fourth factor was 0.394 it was excluded from further consideration and interpretation. The achieved scores on four separate factors show that Serbian male and female handball players achieve average results on the first (Presence of Trait anxiety) and the third factor (Absence of proactivity), while they achieve scores above the average on the second factor (Positive affect). In order to examine the sex differences between the examined variables, a one-way analysis of variance was performed. The findings show that there is no statistically significant difference on all three factors between the scores achieved by male and female handball players. A statistically significant difference between handball players of different competitive ranks appeared only on the Positive affect factor between the top athletes and the athletes in the second league (p = .04).

The objective of the study was to identify the conflict management styles of Pakistani teachers teaching at the post-graduate level. The study also aimed to investigate differences, if any, between male and female as well as married and un-married teachers regarding the use of conflict management styles. The sample of the study consisted of 300 male and female teachers from five public universities of Lahore district. We found that collaborating conflict management style is used most frequently by teachers who participated in this study. In this regard, the majority of teachers were found to use the avoiding technique “keep yourself away from conflict” to resolve the conflict. There was a significant difference between married and un-married teachers regarding their competing and compromising conflict management styles. However, no significant difference was found between male and female teachers regarding their conflict management styles. More research may be conducted in academic institutions regarding conflict management skills among teachers. The study suggested that educational institutions may also formulate their teams of expert teachers, which may work effectively during the times of conflicts or crisis.

In today’s competitive world, faculties need to upgrade their skill. This study focuses to study the training and development in faculties of technical institutes of Gujarat. A survey was carried out in the state of Gujarat by taking 50 respondents from technical institutes. The perception of male and female faculties is compared with the help of independent sample t test. Two age groups are also compared by independent sample t test. It was found that gender is having significant difference regarding training and development but age do not have.

The purpose of the present study was to examine the attitude, awareness and barriers in research on the Post-Graduate (PG) Students and Research Scholars under the universities in West Bengal. The researchers have adopted the descriptive research method and its approach is quantitative for measuring the attitude, awareness and barriers in research. In keeping the variables (Gender, Locality, and Stream) in mind, 150 Post Graduate Students and 140 Research Scholars were selected as sample from the University of Calcutta, University of Kalyani and University of Burdwan in West Bengal. An Attitude Scale based on Likert’s 5-point scale (Bi-polar on 40 items) was developed and used by investigators for measuring their attitude towards research. For the awareness about research methodology, an Awareness Scale based on Likert’s 4-point scale containing 30 items was developed. To explore the barriers to doing research, researchers developed 10 Statements with the help of experts and it’s a tri-polar scaling method indicating ‘Yes’, ‘No’ and ‘Can’t say’. The result indicated that the Post-Graduate Students and Research Scholars differed significantly in their attitude towards research. The Post-Graduate Students showed a more positive attitude towards Research than the Research Scholars. The Research Scholars belonging to the social science & humanities and science stream showed significant difference in their awareness about research methodology. Despite having self-interest in research (70%) among the research scholars, the barriers to conducting research faced by them markedly included barriers related to institutional affairs (65.7%), lack of research funding (75%), inadequate research facilities (69.2%), lack of research skills and knowledge (59.2%), lack of professional supervisors (77.1%), difficulty in collecting reliable and valid data (80%) and uncertainty of employment (67.8%).

The purpose of the research was to study the Spiritual Intelligence of Post Graduate Students. For the present study a total sample consisting 120 individual subjects those are Post Graduate Students of Aurangabad city in Maharashtra. There are two groups (60 Pali, Buddhism and Social Science Students and 60 High and Low Economic Status Students) ranging age between 21 to 24 years. The tools used Roqan spiritual Intelligence Test (RSIT) developed by Prof. Roquiya Zainuddin and Ms. Anjum Ahmed. For this studies following statistical techniques were used, Mean, Standard Deviation, t-test. The findings of the study are this study reveals the significant difference between spiritual intelligence of Pali, Buddhism and Social Science students and High and Low economic Status Students.
