Orientation: While there is considerable literature on the definition and impact of authentic leadership (AL), there is a research gap regarding the effectiveness of AL programmes.Research purpose: The focus of this article is on the proximal programme effect of an AL development programme on executive leaders within a period of 3 months.Motivation for the study: AL has been identified not only as the root construct of positive forms of leadership but also equates to the highest level of leadership effectiveness. Leadership authenticity can take a life time to develop, and organisations need positive and ethical leadership now. An appropriate AL programme could considerably shorten the development period of a such leadershipResearch design, approach and method: A longitudinal qualitative programme evaluation approach was used. The participants comprised a primary group of a 10-member executive leadership team who were the AL programme participants and their respective secondary (senior, peer and subordinate) participants who provided pre- and post-programme data on the leadership authenticity of the primary participants.Main findings: The outline of the AL programme is presented with an indication of how it adhered to specific guidelines offered for development of such programmes. Findings indicate that the programme had a proximal effect of increasing AL; starting with the development of personal followed by interpersonal and professional leadership.Practical/managerial implications: An appropriate and effective AL programme could thus considerably shorten the development period of such leadership.

The Full Country Evaluations were Gavi-funded real-time evaluations of immunisation programmes in Bangladesh, Mozambique, Uganda and Zambia, from 2013 to 2016. The evaluations focused on providing evidence for improvement of immunisation delivery in these countries and spanned all phases of Gavi support. The process evaluation approach of the evaluations utilised mixed methods to track progress against defined theories-of-change and related milestones during the various stages of implementation of the Gavi support streams. This article highlights complexities of this type of real-time evaluation and shares lessons learnt on conducting such evaluation from the Zambian experience. Real-time process evaluation is a complex evaluation methodology that requires sensitivity to the context of the evaluation, catering for various information needs of stakeholders, and establishment of mutually beneficial relationships between programme implementers and evaluators. When used appropriately, it can be an effective means of informing programme decisions and aiding programme improvement for both donors and local implementers.

Real-time evaluation quality fluctuation is an important way to ensure product quality in manufacturing process. This study proposes a multidimensional data flow driven-based quality fluctuation evaluation. Firstly, the multidimensional decomposition and transition mode analysis is carried out to reveal the essence of quality fluctuation. Then, the technique uses hierarchical network architecture to model the process, and quality fluctuation network is built to track fluctuation evolution trend; then, the node relative entropy measure is defined to statistically analyze the change of net-node state fluctuation. Finally, a case study is used to verify the proposed quality fluctuation evaluation approach.
