Abstract Introduction: Recently the issue of emotional intelligence has become a widespread theme of discussion. This review paper is made a contribution to this debate. Discovering of effective predictive and protective factors for depression would have far-reaching consequences for society, science and economy. Material and Methods: To investigate this issue, we searched articles available in the Google Scholar and PudMed databases under the following terms: emotional intelligence, depression, emotional intelligence and depression for the years 1999-2019. Accessible literature allowed to show basic information of emotional intelligence, detect a system of relationships between emotional intelligence level and depression, and present recommendations. Results and Discussion: The result of this analysis is a statement that all components of emotional intelligence can be a defense against depression. People with high abilities in regulation their own emotions have large social support, what protect them against depression. The capable managing one’s own and others’ emotions create large and deep interpersonal relationships, what provide more emotional support and tangible assistance during everyday challenges. Stressful life events are among the most powerful predictors of depression, and high level of emotional intelligence enable to cope with them more effectively. Conclusions: The present text will constitute an impulse to explore this theme more. Moreover, there is a recommendation for researchers to create more effective and simplified tests for examining the level of emotional intelligence in case of spreading them much more and use them in a routine psychiatric practice. A confirmation of the title hypothesis can stand a key to struggle with depression.

<p>This study aimed to identify the Emotional intelligence differences between the normal, the<br />blind and the deaf in a Jordanian sample, in addition to the impact of the gender and type of<br />disability on the level of the emotional intelligence. The sample of the study consisted of 150<br />male and female students who are normal, deaf and blind in the adolescence. The researcher<br />collected data using Bar-On Emotional intelligence scale which is developed by Alia<br />Al-Oweidi and it is consisted of 60items distributed into six domains. Results showed the<br />highest mean of emotional intelligence level was for the normal students, the deaf and the<br />blind respectively. The results also showed that there were statistical significant differences<br />attributed to the type of the disability variable but there were no statistical significant<br />differences attributed to the gender variable.</p>

Objectives: To study the effect of emotional intelligence on the job performance of high school principals in the municipality of Shendi, River Nile State, Sudan. Methods: This study was conducted using Dalip Singh's model of emotional intelligence in the managerial environment. The levels of emotional intelligence of managers have been studied in terms of the three components of the model (emotional sensitivity, emotional maturity, and emotional competence) and their impact on managers' ability to lead (work teams, relationship management, and the ability to motivate workers morally), as well as their ability to manage and resolve conflict. Methods: The researcher adopted the descriptive and analytical approach that relies on collecting data on the phenomenon and its interpretation using the SPSS statistical program for data analysis (2018-2020). questionnaire was used to obtain the opinions of the study sample consisting of (20) secondary education managers, using the comprehensive survey method. Findings: The most important finding, emotional sensitivity comes in the first place in terms of influencing job performance effectiveness (leadership, relationship management, ability to motivate, as well as conflict management and resolution); Moreover, 91% of the respondents considered to have a very high level of emotional sensitivity. Improvements/ Applications: The study concluded that managers have the ability to manage the current environment, work in harmony with others and achieve interest in them: the reason for this is that they have this advantage. Value: This is one of the first studies to be conducted in this region to analyze the impact of emotional intelligence on education managers.

Purpose The main purpose of this research is to empirically test the impacts of emotional intelligence score and emotional intelligence processing on the performance of investor’s portfolio. Design/methodology/approach A mail questionnaire survey was conducted on a sample of 983 international investors. The total number of usable responses received was 197 giving a response rate of 20.4 per cent. From 197 investors, 46 accepted to complete the experiment study during two trading hours for each investor from January first until February 19, 2015. Findings The results reveal a positive impact of emotional intelligence on portfolio performance. Additional analysis shows that the emotional intelligence process has a significant impact on the portfolio performance. The higher impact is revealed when the investors understand the markets tendency, manage their own emotions, take their financial decisions and finally control their personnel emotions during market fluctuations. The lower impact is detected when investors take reactive decisions after perceiving the markets tendency. This research also reveals that the investors have high capacity to manage and control their emotions during market fluctuations especially who are characterized by high emotional intelligence level. Research limitations/implications The first limit of this research is the exploration of limited number of investors and financial operations during limited period. Therefore, the results could not be generalized, and further studies should include larger samples during larger period. The second limitation concerns the used variables to measure the portfolio performance and the emotional intelligence level. For future studies, it will be preferred to use other quantitative and qualitative variables lead to measure the different analytical dimensions of portfolio performance and emotional intelligence. Practical implications The results hold implications for investors that seek to enhance efficiently and effectively the portfolio performance. It also prompts investors to focus on effort that can improve the management and the control of personnel emotions. Originality/value This paper presents one of the first empirical studies that attempt to explore how emotional intelligence and, particularly, emotional process serve to sustain the performance of portfolio during market fluctuations.

: Heart disease has been one of the ruling causes for death for quite some time now. About 31% of all deaths every year in the world take place as a result of cardiovascular diseases [1]. A majority of the patients remain uninformed of their symptoms until quite late while others find it difficult to minimise the effects of risk factors that cause heart diseases. Machine Learning Algorithms have been quite efficacious in producing results with a high level of correctness thereby preventing the onset of heart diseases in many patients and reducing the impact in the ones that are already affected by such diseases. It has helped medical researchers and doctors all over the world in recognising patterns in the patients resulting in early detections of heart diseases.

En la historia de la humanidad, la violencia ha dejado huellas de destrucción masiva quitando  la vida a millones de  personas, en  diferentes épocas, legado que genera más violencia, y las víctimas aprenden de sus agresores. El objetivo de este estudio es analizar el impacto de la violencia intrafamiliar sobre las relaciones interpersonales de niños y jóvenes escolares de las instituciones educativas de la Zona 5 de Ecuador, identificar  los factores que intervienen en la violencia intrafamiliar y establecer los diferentes modelos de comportamiento social que utilizan en sus relaciones interpersonales. La muestra estuvo comprendida por 11 053 estudiantes de 10–17 años, de séptimo año de Educación Básica media – superior,  a primero de Bachillerato. Para medir el clima familiar se utilizó el cuestionario de Moos y Moos (1981), y para las relaciones interpersonales la Escala de comunicación de padres-adolescentes de Barnes y Olson (1985), ambos, aplicados en otras investigaciones y alto nivel de confiabilidad y validez. De los resultados obtenidos, las manifestaciones más graves de violencia interpersonal es  la violencia intrafamiliar, violencia de pareja, maltrato infantil, de padres a hijos. Las diferentes formas de violencia intrafamiliar afectan a la población más vulnerable  e influye, de manera determinante, en el comportamiento de los escolares. Throughout the history of humanity, violence has left traces of mass destruction taking the lives of millions of people at different times of the world, whose legacy generates more violence, and victims learn from victimizers. The aim of this study is to analyze the impact of domestic violence on interpersonal relations of children and young students of educational institutions in Zone 5 of Ecuador, identifying the factors involved in domestic violence and establish the different models of behavior they use in their social relationships. The sample was comprised of 11 053 students aged 10 to 17 years old from seventh year of primary and secondary education. To evaluate family atmosphere, a questionnaire by Moos, R and Moos, B. (1981) was used and for interpersonal relationships, the Scale communication of parent-adolescent by Barnes and Olson (1985) was taken, both with high level of reliability and validity applied in other research. According to the results, the most serious manifestations of interpersonal violence is domestic violence, partner violence and child abuse from parents to children. The different forms of domestic violence affect the most vulnerable people and influence in most cases the schoolchildren behavior.

This study examines that in what aspects the levels of leaders' emotional intelligence in chaos and complexity situations can affect the organizations. Also, in this study the dimensions of emotional intelligence which are closely related to social life and organizational systems will be considered in terms of chaos and complexity theories. At the same time in this study, how a situation that appears to be complex but has an order inside and has the potential to be directed with small interventions can be handled by a leader that has a high capacity of using his/her emotional intelligence will be scrutinised. Additionally, this study will present the advantages of some leader capabilities (such as personal and interpersonal relationships, stress management, adaptability, general mood, empathy, motivation and self-awareness) in the management of the organizations in the context of chaos and complexity theories. Last but not least, the effect of emotional intelligence level in the rising of new leaders will be mentioned in this study.

The research was conducted for inspecting the bond among Perceived Leadership and Employee Workplace Outcomes as well as the moderating role of Emotional Intelligence on the connection between perceived leadership and Employee Workplace Outcomes. The survey was conducted through 260 employees of high schools of Quetta Pakistan, perceiving their managers as leaders including teaching and non-teaching staff. The results of 232 employees analyzed statistically by SPSS (v. 25.0), Add on Process by Andrew Hayes and AMOS 24. Study findings showed that acting strategies of perceived leadership relate positively to employees workplace outcomes, which increases or decreases with increased or decreased relation between them. The performance results show significant moderating effects of emotional intelligence, i.e. increases employee workplace performance, by upgrading the relationship between leaders and employees. These findings contribute to the literature on perceived leadership and the impact of intelligence level of employees, which may promote the education quality in high schools by improving intelligence level and offering some directions to HR practitioners for some possibly advantageous exercises and recruitment procedures and promoting human empowerment. This study was focused on high schools only, future studies may be conducted on other sectors of the education department and remote areas other than cities.

Cognitive ability alone is no longer the highest standard by which companies assess college graduates. Non-cognitive ability, such as emotional intelligence (EI), is an essential skill that distinguishes the potential high-performance students. It is hypothesized that high academic performing students will also display more EI levels than students with more modest academic achievement. The present study aims to review the studies conducted across the globe to explore the impact of EI's fundamental components, namely personal and social competencies on academic performance among the college students. The current literature reviews found a growing area of research into EI's necessary competencies and its relationship with academic performance among the students. The study reveals that a high level of personal and social competencies results in increased academic performance and vice versa. Research work done by various researchers shows a positive and significant relationship exists between the EI competencies (personal and social competencies) with the academic performance of the college students. This article presents a theoretical review based in one of the emerging new leadership models: emotional leadership; likewise, the impact of exercising this style of leadership in Spanish educational institutions. These effects are in the areas of education, the physical and mental health of members of the educational community, improved interpersonal relationships, avoidance of stress and job anxiety. Finally, it will conclude with the importance of including Emotional Intelligence in training programs for headmasters through coaching, to emphasize the importance of exercising an emotional leadership style as a means of improving the organization and quality of Spanish schools.

Introduction: Personality is a behavior and mindset pattern that is typical for each person in responding to every event or stimulus in his environment. Galen's theory has classified personality types into four types they are Sanguinis, Choleric, Melancholy, and Plegmatis. The level of emotional intelligence shows a person's ability to deal with demands and pressures to achieve their best in thinking and behaving appropriately. This study aims to prove the relationship between personality types based on Galen's theory with emotional intelligence level in preclinical medical students.Methods: This study is a comparative study using an online questionnaire instrument on emotional intelligence and personality type tests compiled by Florence Littauer. This research variables are the emotional intelligence level and personality type. This study used data from 100 respondents, then data was analyzed using Chi Square test.Results: From 100 respondents, dominant personality type is Sanguinis 35%, followed by Choleric 13%, Melancholy 27%, and Plegmatis 25%. There were no respondent who showed a low level of emotional intelligence in this study. 64% of respondents have a high level of emotional intelligence, while the remaining 36% have a moderate level. Chi Square test shows p value is 0.032.Conclusion: There is a relationship between personality types based on Galen's theory with emotional intelligence level on medical students in Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Airlangga.
