RNA interference plays a major role in biology of ciliates. Diverse small RNAs regulate many processes in vegetative cells of ciliates Tetrahymena and Paramecium. Different types of endogenous and exogenous nucleotide sequences induce different RNAi pathways resulting in silencing of the homologous sequences in the macronuclear genome. Likely this way ciliates are able to quickly inactivate heterogeneous sequences and to adapt efficiently to the environmental conditions and external stimuli.

AbstractEnvironmental conditions can cause phenotypic changes, part of which can be inherited by subsequent generations via soma-to-germline communication. However, the signaling molecules or pathways that mediate intertissue communication remain unclear. Here, we show that intertissue small RNA communication systems play a key role in the acquisition and inheritance of hormesis effects – stress-induced stress resistance – in Caenorhabditis elegans. The miRNA-processing enzyme DRSH-1 is involved in both the acquisition and the inheritance of hormesis, whereas worm-specific Argonaute (WAGO) proteins, which function with endo-siRNAs, are involved only in its inheritance. Further analyses demonstrate that the miRNA production system in the neuron and the small RNA transport machinery in the intestine are both essential for its acquisition and that both the transport of small RNAs in the germline and the germline Argonaute HRDE-1 complex are required for its inheritance. Our results thus demonstrate that overlapping and distinct roles of small RNA systems in the acquisition and inheritance of hormesis effects.

The origin of RNA interference (RNAi), the cell sentinel system widely shared among eukaryotes that recognizes RNAs and specifically degrades or prevents their translation in cells, is suggested to predate the last eukaryote common ancestor ( 138 ). Of particular relevance to plant pathology is that in plants, but also in some fungi, insects, and lower eukaryotes, RNAi is a primary and effective antiviral defense, and recent studies have revealed that small RNAs (sRNAs) involved in RNAi play important roles in other plant diseases, including those caused by cellular plant pathogens. Because of this, and because RNAi can be manipulated to interfere with the expression of endogenous genes in an intra- or interspecific manner, RNAi has been used as a tool in studies of gene function but also for plant protection. Here, we review the discovery of RNAi, canonical mechanisms, experimental and translational applications, and new RNA-based technologies of importance to plant pathology.

The effect of cold temperature on the skin was studied on white rats exposed to two different types of environmental conditions. Two groups of adult rats kept in individual cages were continuously exposed for 3 months to constant cold temperature (18° and 6 °C) in the laboratory (indoor rats) while other groups of the same colony kept in groups of 10 were exposed for the same length of time to the fluctuating environmental conditions prevailing outside (outdoor rats).Indoor rats acclimated to 18 °C and 6 °C showed the same increase in the number of opened capillaries in the ears over the number observed in controls acclimated to 30 °C. "Summer and winter" outdoor rats showed the same number of capillaries as the "18 °C or 6 °C" indoor rats. Signs of injury healing such as thicker epidermis and larger nuclei were found in the ears of all the "6 °C" rats but in none of the "winter" rats. While the skin temperature measured at + 6 °C was slightly higher (0.4 to 1.0 °C) in rats acclimated at 6 °C than in those at 30 °C, it was lower (1.3 to 2.9 °C) in "winter" than in "summer" rats. After 28 days of acclimation, the rate of oxygen uptake of the dorsal skin of the foot was lower in "6 °C" than in "30 °C" rats but after 84 days it was significantly higher in the cold-acclimated rats. Similarly, after 3 months, the respiratory rate of the dorsal skin of the foot was higher in "winter" rats than in "summer" rats.

In this context, the mobile customer tries to cover his or her requirements with the knowledge based on information obtained from the virtual environment, and reaches facts via virtual data, and the customer creates a new structure with different features. This section aims to detail the changing customer structure, the individualization and the experienced changes and considers the transformation of individuals into mobile customers. Generations who depended on products of high-technology development, which show themselves with different aspects, have also brought differences to marketing. They have both changed the production and service approach, and began to benefit from different types of products and services. In addition to other environmental conditions that affect life, human generations who change due to the effects of the means of the age should also be examined in this context.

Experiments were conducted to compare the drift of low-expansion foam and conventional sprays in a low-speed horizontal wind tunnel under controlled environmental conditions. Dimensions of the tunnel were 1.30 m high, 0.61 m wide, and 7.32 m long. Wind speed was maintained at 1.52 m/sec. Drift was compared for spray solutions, with and without foam adjuvants, using several different types and sizes of air-inducting nozzles and three sizes of conventional fan nozzles. Large drops produced by the air-inducting nozzles, with and without foam adjuvant, resulted in significantly less drift beyond 1.83 and 6.10 m than sprays from the conventional fan nozzles. The addition of foam adjuvant to the spray solution resulted in increased drift beyond 1.83 m for sprays from the air-induction nozzles in several comparisons but did not result in a significant increase in the drift beyond 6.10 m.

In this study, sequences of small RNA (sRNA) libraries derived from the insect vector Laodelphax striatellus were assembled into contigs and used as queries for database searches. A large number of contigs were highly homologous to the genome sequence of an insect dicistrovirus, himetobi P virus (HiPV). Interestingly, HiPV-derived sRNAs had a wide size distribution, and were relatively abundant throughout the 18–30 nt size range with only a slight peak at 22 nt. HiPV sRNAs had a strong bias towards the sense strand, whilst the antisense sRNAs were predominantly 21 and 22 nt. HiPV sRNAs do not have the typical features of PIWI-interacting RNAs, but their 3′ ends were preferentially cleaved at UA-rich sequences. Our data suggest that HiPV sRNAs may be derived both from activities of the RNA interference pathway and from cleavage of the viral genome by other host RNases.

ABSTRACT The nucleotide sequences of 59 bla TEM genes encoding inhibitor-resistant TEM enzymes showed great genetic variability and were associated with different types of promoters. These findings led us to suggest an updatedbla TEM gene nomenclature based on the origin of the bla TEM gene (bla TEM-1A, bla TEM-1B,bla TEM-1C, bla TEM-1D,bla TEM-1E, andbla TEM-1F) and the promoter type.

A variety of plant species that exist today reflect the diversity of plant species as well as how pre-existing or in the past, the area along the environmental conditions are not much changed significantly. Plant communities in a region will illustrate the diversity of plant species tolerant to environmental conditions in the area. The power plant tolerance to different environmental factors will lead to different types of plants that live in the area By using HF method and Acetolysis, then the results of the identification of fossil pollen (pollen analysis) that has been done specifically on a sample of soil /sediment from the findings of pottery, as well as the box has been opened at the excavation site Pemuteran, Buleleng Regency, Bali Province randomly, especially in layer B in test pit 4 and 5, the types derived from fossil pollen from plants derived from plants that are useful in the family Compositae, Poaceae, Malvaceae and Papilionaceae. In addition, there is also a pollen that is not available on the site around Pemuteran, such as the family Pinaceae, Fagaceae, Daphnae, Sequoia, Geraniaceae, Cupressus.
