The authors’ purpose was to analyse users of the blended e-learning course “Improvement of ICT skills” in context of e-inclusion and determine indicators for e-inclusion facilitation. We applied a practical use probability model to perform the analysis that identified the following factors: the degree to which the instructor was willing and able to share knowledge; the degree to which the students were interested and had the capacity to learn; and the degree to which the sponsoring organization supported and promoted learning. The study was based on evaluating a group of five hundred vocational teachers who were the learners. Our results indicated that the quality of e-learning materials and environment, instructor's support, student willingness and ability to learn were attributes that could impact learning carry-over and promoted e-inclusion.

Multimedia learning materials (MLM) play an important role in learning. Engagement is a state that contributes to care of and positive approach to MLM, to pay attention to and deep processing of it, to do activities in it while preventing learners from quitting MLM. The quality of MLMs and students' characteristics are important in the engagement process. Cognitive theories provide valuable principles when designing MLMs, whereas the emotional design of the MLMs and the affective responses they evoke in students remain in the background. The emotional design ensures students' engagement with MLMs, and their interpretation of the knowledge and their learning can be manipulated. In this chapter, student engagement has been elaborated within scope of MLMs. Secondly, the relationship between emotional processes and engagement was examined. It was focused on organizing students' emotional process using emotional design elements and their effects on learning outcomes. Finally, suggestions were made for maintaining interaction with MLM and engagement for learning.

This chapter describes an experience in teacher training for e-learning in the field of adult education. It takes into account the models offered by flexible lifelong learning as the proper way to develop training for teachers in service, considering the advantages of blended learning for the target audience. The chapter discusses the balance between mere ICT skills and pedagogical competences. In this context the learning design should always allow that the teachers in training integrate in their work ICT solutions that fit to the didactic objectives, renew teaching and learning methodology, facilitate communication, give place to creativity, and allow pupils to learn at their own pace. By doing so, they will be closer to the profile of a tutor online, as a practitioner who successfully takes advantages of the virtual environments for collaborative work and learning communication.

The COVID-19 pandemic has spread worldwide, including Indonesia. The Indonesian government recommends all citizens to stay at home and to work and study from home. Therefore, most universities have implemented e-learning in their teaching and learning process. This research focused on the effect of e-learning on students’ interest and learning at the varsity level. Quantitative research methods were used. The data were collected from 176 students from two private universities in Medan, Sumatera Utara. The findings were that e-learning enabled the students to access the global world and distribute learning materials through WhatsApp. Assignments were marked promptly and e-learning helped students to set their own schedule. E-learning motivated the students to do their own work without others’ help, but the students did not agree that e-learning enhanced the quality of the teaching-learning process. Learning becomes more flexible when options are offered to learners, not only about the time and place and pace of learning, but also relating to types and origins of study materials, to forms and quantity of learning activities and assignments, to ways of interacting with others within the course, and to forms of assessment. De Boer (2004) has analyzed flexible course delivery within universities and found that the most flexibility is found in logistic aspects of the course such as flexibility in dates by which assignments must be submitted or flexibility in the location of course meetings, whereas pedagogical flexibility in which the learner can tailor aspects of the learning process itself is still relatively little seen. Within companies, flexible learning is often described as e-learning or blended learning. In an analysis of literature about flexible learning in companies, Margaryan and Bianco (2002) found that e-learning typically involves logistic flexibility at the price of pedagogy: little or no options are available for social interaction, a direct relationship with an instructor, or for choice in types of learning activities and ways of carrying out those activities.

The teachers are required to be able to adapt and develop their learning model in post-new normal condition at this time, the model should make the students understand the material being taught easier. In addition, teachers must also be able to apply face-to-face (traditional) and non-face-to-face (online) models. Therefore, to solve the problem, there is an appropriate learning model, namely blended learning. This article aims to examine in-depth thinking about the implementation of this learning model with the literature review method. Indeed, the blended learning model is a learning process that utilizes various approaches (i.e., media and technology) both offline and online. moreover, it can improve students’ access in accessing learning materials, enhance their new experiences, improve the quality of learning, and reduce learning costs. As result, this article indicates that a theoretically blended learning model can be a learning model in post-new normal at the school and university, but further research is still needed to examine the effectiveness of blended learning implementation.

In this report in addition to previous results we present the evaluation results of multi-screen e-learning courses – eBig3. It is a new approach and technology to lifelong learning embodying effective integration of popular television, Internet, and mobile phones technologies. We present the results of ten eBig3 pilot courses delivered in 2013 in Latvia. The target group of eBig3 courses was society at large. It demonstrates radical increase of registration in eBig3 courses compared with the traditional registration in the Internet. The course delivery was more successful than that of blended learning courses. The new approach strongly increases the availability of e-courses, and contributes to closing the gap between the expectations for future life-long-learning and real achievements. We didn’t observe connection between learner’s age and attitude towards the usage of SMS in the eBig3 approach.

This research aims to produce learning in the form of e-learning as a blended learning that is valid, practical, and effective in the execution of training preparation of learning materials in Balai Diklat Keagamaan Denpasar. This development research is based on the lack of a variety of media and learning materials that are used in the training process, the learning methods applied are still conventional, and the limited communication between lecturer with participants. The development procedure uses the ADDIE model consists of five stages: (1) analysis, (2) design, (3), development, (4) implementation, and (5) evaluation. The results showed that the teaching materials developed have met the aspects of validity, practicality, and effectiveness. The results of the validity test shows that e-learning as a blended learning is at a very good category based on test experts. E-learning also has fulfilled the practical aspect seen from the participants's response related to ease of use and interface attractiveness. The t-test results show that there is a significant difference between the mean score of learning outcomes before and after using e-learning as blended learning. Where the posttest average value is greater than the average value of pretest and has met the minimum predefined criteria that have been set. Based on this, e-learning as a blended learning is considered effective in improving learning outcomes.
