The article attempts to identify changes that have occurred in the lingual world model of Ukrainians in recent years. The results of the “Word of the Year” contest in Ukraine served as the material for observation and analysis. Every year the online dictionary of neologisms and slang of the modern Ukrainian language “Myslovo” declares the “word of the year” – the most socially significant, popular and used word. Other nominees in the short list for the award are also important words to indicate current phenomena, events, concepts or persons. Usually, “modern” words fall into the nomination. Such lexemes are contemporary (reflect current events in the society), universal (formed by the new-fashioned trends), popular (are in the center of public thought and debate). Thus, in 2013 the “word of the year” became “Euromaidan”, in 2014 – “cyborgs”, in 2015 – “blockade”. In 2016, “corruption” became much more relevant, in 2017 the most popular was “bezviz” (visa-free regime), and in 2018 originally Greek word “tomos” became widely used. Therefore, the chosen “words of the year” (and nominees for this award) act as lexical representatives of those phenomena and events that are of the most concern for the society, and consequently have impact on the lingual world model of Ukrainians. The results of the Ukrainian competition were compared with the results of the similar contests in other countries, in particular, Belarus and Russia. Using comparative analysis, the common features of the Ukrainian and Belarussian lingual world models of XXI century were revealed as well as the opposite views of Ukrainians and Russians on important socio-political phenomena. For example, Belarusians use the loanword from Ukrainian “vyshyvanka” (‘colloquial name for the embroidered shirt in Ukrainian and Belarusian national costumes’) from which the derived word – neologism “vyshymaika” (‘colloquial name for the t-shirt that combines tradional embroidery with the modern design’) was formed. The imperial ambitions of Russians were verbalized in the politically motivated neologism-hashtag “#krymnash”(Crimea is ours), which became the “Word of the Year 2014” in Russia. Therefore, it can be claimed that the XXI century Ukrainian standart language is being enriched with new lexemes that are gradually being used by Ukrainians, becoming part of their lingual world model. These words may be partially (see “Euromaidan”, “bezviz”) or completely (see “tomos”) adopted from the other donor languages, but, as practice shows, they are being organically incorporated into the Ukrainian usus.

Since the 1990s, European judicial and normative institutions have paid particular attention to the competitive practices of public undertakings. Consequently, their regime is governed by a significant number of rules pursuing objectives appearing, a priori, contradictory. In fact, public undertakings may experience difficulties in their management. In this context, an approach of public competition law through the prism of fair competition can be very useful. Regarding the uniformity of its judgment, fair competition appears as an objective capable of coordinating rules and overcoming their contradictions. It thereby offers a global and coherent reading plan of all the legal translations of the European competitive order being of some practical importance. In illuminating the common features of the different legal aspects of competition, we can easily switch from one to the other. It therefore makes the European approach to competition more accessible and understandable. Furthermore, and most importantly, it leads to identifying legal opportunities and threats in a cross-disciplinary way. So, from a “Law & Management” perspective, it appears to be a precious tool for the management of public undertakings. A comparative analysis of the syntax and the lexis helps to illuminate the strategies used by the translators and to answer the question as to how the approach to translating a philosophical work affects its reception.

This article is devoted to the science place problem study in culture, its relationship with other sociocultural phenomena. The purpose of the article is to identify the post-non-classical science relationship specifics with such a phenomenon of modern culture as design. The identification of this specificity can serve as an argument that testifies to the rootedness of post-non-classical science in modern culture. To achieve this goal, the authors set the following tasks: 1) analysis of the science sociocultural determination levels and types; 2) the disclosure of the post-non-classical science and modern design features; 3) the identification of the correlation between them. The authors proceed from the idea of synchronism or parallelism as a form of interaction of sociocultural phenomena and processes. A comparative analysis of the post-non-classical science and modern design main characteristics reveals their common features. The authors associate the existence of these correlations with the sociocultural, worldview influence of postmodernism. The obtained result confirms the idea of the post-non-classical science rootedness in modern culture.

This article reviews the regional peculiarities of political processes associated with the struggle for regional leadership that is a mainstream in the modern post-bipolar international relations. The authors give particular attention to the historical and theoretical principles of studying the concept of leadership in international relations, namely: provide various approaches towards determination of the status of a regional power, criteria for regional leadership, and specificities of interaction between the regional and global powers. Emphasis is placed on examination of the aforementioned phenomena and processes in the context of comprehensive impact of such global trends, as globalization and glocalization, decentralization of the system of international relations, and formation of the multipolar world order. The novelty of this work lies in the comparative analysis of regional peculiarities of the struggle for leadership in the European and Middle Eastern regions. The relevance of selecting Europe and Middle East is defined by their fundamentally different nature of the regional international relations. The authors reveal the common features and regional specificity of the struggle for leadership in these regions. The common features include: the significance of non-state actors (of different types), ethnic and cultural diversity, complexity of delineation of political boundaries. The regional specificities include: different tools, nature and goals of the struggle for leadership, unequal presence of global powers in the regions, etc. The conclusion is drawn on the need for further examination of the matter to improve the international political forecasting.

Many researchers of Lyudmila Petrushevskaya’s works draw attention to the irony which is the significant element of her prose, drama and poetry. It is important that the ironic principle manifests itself not only as an artistic technique but also as a philosophical aspect. Irony demonstrates the ambivalence of reality. On the one hand, it ridicules and profanes everything. On the other hand, irony gives the certitude of the ontological status of reality. We can see a good example of this function of irony in the novel Nas ukrali. Istoriya prestupleniy (2017). This novel shows the common features of Petrushevskaya’s works – the unity of ironic potential and language. In this case, language is not only the style but first of all the ontological element. This is why the language becomes almost a character in Petrushevskaya’s novel. Irony opens the vital potential of the linguistic personality. As a result, one of the heroes imitates foreign speech but doesn’t speak a foreign language. Irony also helps to reveal the ambivalent nature of life. It shows that our “umora” in Sanskrit and in ancient Indian is “humour” and “death”. So, the game and profanity not only reduce the status of the hero, the image, or the reader’s expectations but, first of all, fill the gap between words, ideas, feelings, and people.

The object of the research presented in the article is the lease of state land settlements. This article has two objectives. The first goal is the search for factors that increase the efficiency of state land use. The second goal is to highlight the principles, approaches and methods of leasing public lands that are potentially applicable in the Kyrgyz Republic. This article is one of a series of articles aimed at drawing lessons from the practice of leasing public lands in post-Soviet countries. The authors examine in detail the existing lease systems of state lands in each of their selected countries for research, and then highlight the common features of well-functioning systems.

Powder IR spectra of natural Ca-amphiboles were studied in the spectral range 4000 to 400 cm'1. The examined samples are: actinolite, tremolite, Mg-hornblende and pargasite. According to their spectra all the minerals of the four species present common features at 3658-3660, 919, 683-687, 661-668, 505-513, 457-464 and 419 cm . Additionally to these bands, the spectra of the actinolites, tremolites and Mghornblendes present common characteristics at 3673, 1094-1098, 989-998, 951, 752-758 and 441-449 cm'1. Moreover, six absorption bands are shown in the spectra of the pargasites at 3690, 981-984, 931, 805-811, 734 and 696-698 cm'1, in addition to the common bands appeared in all Ca-amphiboles, which do not appear in the spectra of the actinolites, tremolites and Mg-hornblendes. The spectra of pargasites are remarkably different from the spectra of the other three mineral species. These discrepancies could be attributed to differences in the structure of pargasites relative to the other three species as well as to the occupancy of the A site especially with Na+.

<span>One of the major troubles with a comparative analysis between human and other species is that only similar amino acid sequences are selected for analysis. To find the connection among the species and find out the unique, the common and the universal proteins, the entire genome of 40 species are compared with the human genome which is utilized as reference genome. More than 11 billion pairwise alignments are performed using blastp. Several findings are introduced in this study, for example, we found 330 unique proteins in human genome and have insignificant hits in all tested genomes, the number of universal proteins in human genome and conserved in all tested species is 82, and there are 180 proteins common in vertebrates genomes, but have insignificant hits in the other tested species. In contrary to the previous studies which use selected set of the genes and do not consider the whole genomes, this study proves that the similarity between human and chimpanzee is only 94.8.</span>

Тhe image of Turandot that has almost the greatest number of interpretations in a variety of genres, particularly, in opera, ushered in the masterpiece of G. Puccini. Still, rather little-known remain over ten of her opera forerunners among which a special place belongs to the opera of the king of verismo – the well-known violin virtuoso, composer, social-cultural figure, professor of Milano conservatoire Antonio Bazzini, in whose class G. Puccini was a student. His only opera ―Turanda‖ of 1867 became the subject of the study in this article whose objective is to outline the imagologeme of the cruel princess character in the interpretation of A. Bazzini. Using the imagologic methodologies oriented toward all-round outlining of the Other – particularly in the context of the oriental themes, the author proceeds from the comparative analysis that gives ground for determination of the common and distinctive traits in the interpretation of the heroine character in the context of the Italian and general European cultural paradigm. Created almost 100 years after Carlo Gozzi’s fiaba and 50 years before G. Puccini’s ―Turandot‖ A. Bazzini finds new unexpected dimensions of the work on such theme in the opera genre. Departing from the elements of commedia dell’arte that are the cornerstones in Gozzi’s favola, Bazzini, though staying in the sphere of the fairytale plot defines the genre of his opera as the ―Asian fantasy‖, gravitating despite the decorative-harem and state-imperial image of the Orient to the principles of the lyrical opera French models and looking at the lyrical drama of V. Bellini. The main lady character is the type of the femme fatale, who in the course of unwinding of the dramatic action acquires some sentimental traits, reinvents herself from the princess-killer to the loving lady. Bazzini’s eclecticism was manifested in the departure from the Chinese content and extension of the geocultural boundaries: the action takes place in Persia (Turandot’s ancestral homeland, whose combined prototype image is described in the poem of Nizami ―Seven Beauties‖), Prince Calaf becomes the Indian Prince Nadir, preserving the role of the lyrical-dramatic hero. Bazzinin refuses from the masks and instead brings in the new bright character – magician Ormut who represents the evil forces, for he is hopelessly in love with Turandot, inspires her to killings with the aid of sorcery. The exalted mystical-orgiastic scene of worshipping Ahriman is one of the best in the presentation of the spectacular-theatrical exotica. And though over a dozen of composers-romanticists attempted to adapt the character of Turandot, the heroine found her optimal embodiment in the aura of the high verism, one of the steps on the way to which can be regarded ―Turanda‖ of A. Bazzini.

The question of Dostoevsky’s attitude towards Stendhal’s oeuvre remains unanswered. In the absence of direct references, the author suggests searching their works. The novels The Red and the Black and The Adolescent [Podrostok] share in common the issues of a young man’s psychological coming-of-age. Both in their late teens and coming from a peasant background, Julien Sorel and Arkady Dolgoruky are thrown into the alien social milieu of the capital city. Another similarity is the contrast between the immature ideas about life and life as the writer perceives it. In Stendhal’s book, the contrast is depicted as a catastrophic disruption of all social ties, which allows the hero to see the world with new eyes right before his demise. Dostoevsky, on the other hand, shows the process of maturing as a gradual development of new social ties. The comparative analysis of the two novels enables better appreciation of the distinctive character depiction for the two protagonists, and reveals common features that suggest Dostoevsky’s awareness and interpretation of Stendhal’s artistic experiments.
