Astrakhan biosphere reserve, the Volga Delta, hunting, the birds’ nesting area, adjacent territory of the Delta, Northern Caspian sea, the species. The article is characterized by environmental protection, research and ekologo-educational activity of the Astrakhan biosphere reserve, which is the oldest environmental institution of the Federal value. Specific examples of diversification activities of the reserve, has drawn attention to the possibility of a successful combination of very important and substantive nature conservation with scientific research, environmental education and, even to some extent, educational activities.

During the twentieth century the level of the Caspian Sea dropped from -26 m (1930) to -29 m (1977) below global sea level and subsequently rose again to -26.66 m in 1996. We aimed to describe responses of the vegetation in the lower Volga Delta to these substantial sea-level changes using an analysis of historic vegetation maps produced by aerial photography and satellite imagery. The sea level drop in the earlier part of the century was followed by rapid progression of the vegetation. The subsequent rapid sea-level rise in the 1980s did however not result in similarly rapid regression of the vegetation. This partial irreversibility of the vegetation response to sea-level change is explained by the wide flooding tolerance of the major emergent species, namely Phragmites australis. Floating vegetation increased in extent, most likely due to the increased availability of more favourable conditions, particularly for Nelumbo nucifera, a tropical plant reaching its northernmost distribution in the Volga Delta. This species increased in distribution from 3.5 ha in the 1930s throughout the entire Volga Delta to several thousands of hectares in the Astrakhanskiy Biosphere Reserve alone in the 1980s. The reported sea-level changes swept the ecosystems in the Astrakhanskiy Biosphere Reserve back and forth within the Reserve boundaries. At longer time scales, ten-fold greater sea-level change has been reported. The ecosystems for which the Reserve is renowned might be pushed completely out of the Reserve under these conditions. We therefore question whether the current Reserve will be sufficiently large to guarantee conservation of the biota in the lower Volga Delta at longer time scales.

Role of Media in Students' Life and Their Environmental Education: A Survey of Students Aged 13 to 17Finding solutions to the problems of environmental protection and nature conservation, developing and performing environmentally conscious behaviour have become the main task of recent decade, this equally involves political, economic and social spheres. Beyond networking between these spheres, the media have to undertake a specific role in solving the above-mentioned problems and also attaining sustainability. A survey was conducted among 234 students between the age of 13-17, searching for the answers what connections students have to the media and whether and to what extent they are reached by the thematic channels and television programmes related to the environment and nature. It is argued that to deal with the issues raised by the results of the survey, a module dealing with environmental protection and nature conservation based on the application of different elements of media should be created for Hungarian schools.

Technical education, is mainly focused on exploring the world of technology, arising the technical conscious and discovering the world that surrounds us. But also is in touch with the development of knowledge and awareness of environmental education, and arising the environmental responsibility which is part of the world. This study describes the ecological issues in technical education and the need of creating them. These are the objectives of environmental education and all educational activities and educational content covering environmental protection. Problem statement. The study of problems related to the old domestic intellectuals, which acquired education, upbringing and practical experience before the Bolshevik occupation of Ukraine, continue to be relevant today. Because the historical circumstances of 100 years ago in many ways resemble the situation and events in Ukraine today. That is why it is important to re-analyze the selected issues in order to come to convincing conclusions for making promising fateful decisions for modern Ukraine and its future. In the course of scientific research, the author took into account the conditions under which the cultural and educational activities of the old intellectuals of Ukraine took place — mainly between 1917–1925. It was the period of civil war in Ukraine, when the presence of the figure of the leader, dictatorship and terror, forced mobilizations of the population and especially of the old intellectuals, which were supplemented by the death sentence without charge or trial of those who disagree with the ruling regime. All this testified to the fact that a totalitarian system of state and political power was gradually formed in Ukraine, which led to the death of almost all the old intellectuals, which the Bolshevik regime turned to its advantage, shot down, tortured in prisons and camps, or forced to emigrate. It should be noted that a detailed historiographical analysis of the available literature on the old intellectuals and government was conducted by the author in his monograph (Sheiko, 2020, pp. 8–87). This analysis testifies to the relevance of this topic and that it is still poorly studied. The methodology of this study are culturological principles and methods of analysis of problems related to the cultural and educational activities of the old intellectuals during the Ukrainian revolution of 1917–1921 and the formation of the totalitarian system in Ukraine. The result of this scientific research is a culturological analysis of the problems of educational activities of the old intellectuals of Ukraine under the conditions of the civil war, the Ukrainian revolution and the formation of the totalitarian system. The scientific topicality of this scientific research is that with the help of culturological methodology it was possible to highlight the role of the old intellectuals in mass cultural and educational activities among the population in the difficult and brutal conditions of the civil war, revolution and totalitarianism that had begun to form. The practical significance of this article is that its results can be used in further researches on selected topic. At the same time, the scientific results of this study can serve as material in the process of preparing scientific and methodological documentation for humanities courses.

As a people, Australians have lost contact with the world of nature, risking the collapse of civilisation. One factor in the alienation of nature in Australia is the failure of the scientific community to take responsibility for the technology created by the knowledge generated from scientific research. Science has failed to protect Australia’s flora and fauna. Scientists must communicate more widely with society, but need to be educated on how to communicate and on their ethical responsibilities to others and other species. Government needs to show leadership in environmental management and nature conservation, while conservationists need to ‘invert the paradigm’, taking a new, less anthropocentric approach to conservation. None of this is possible in a market-place economy and Australians must move to an economic system that is ecocentric. This will not be easy as it requires a reduction in the consumption of resources and a smaller population.

The article touches upon the topic of pedagogic communication. A review of psychological and pedagogic approaches to the definition of communicative qualities necessary for the pedagogue to organise effective interaction with students, as well as for the organisation of personality-developing educational space. The emotional side of the attitude of students to educational activity, consisting in satisfaction with this activity is considered. Mathematical processing of the data showed the presence of a statistically significant relationship between the degree ofmanifestation of communicative qualities of the pedagogue and the level of satisfaction of students with educational activities in the classes of this pedagogue. It is revealed that the most pronounced relationship of satisfaction with educational activities with indicators of pedagogic cooperation and emotional attractiveness of pedagogues. The author emphasises the need to develop the communicative qualities of future pedagogues in the system of higher pedagogic education. The article will be of interest to specialists, pedagogues of higher education.
