Student management activities start from registration, until student services that have been arranged neatly, may not run optimally, if schools are still manual in tidying student data collection. By him the role of student management information systems is very important for every school to have. This study aims to determine how schools can create student management information systems that are feasible and effective.

The paucity of human factors work in computer system design is noted, and reasons for this are elaborated with particular reference to computer-based management information systems. The main obstacle to such human factors endeavor would appear to be the lack of appropriate investigatory techniques. To remedy this deficiency a method is proposed which derived from the field of psychotherapy. Pilot studies are reported which demonstrate the technique and indicate how the data obtained may be interpreted. An appraisal of the potential of this technique in the management information system field is presented.

Subject area Entrepreneurship, Strategic management, Management information systems. Study level/applicability Undergraduate and graduate capstone course in entrepreneurship, strategic management or management information systems courses. Case overview This case study of a young technology firm, Codezin Technology Solutions, helps to analyze the challenges faced by such firms in emerging markets. Such markets are characterized by rapid turbulence in the market characteristics. The authors seek to analyze the role of disruptive regulatory changes, resulting in the growth of new startups, in affecting the growth and expansion of such young firms. Codezin was established in 2009 as a bootstrap company, to provide low-cost IT services to Indian small and medium scale enterprises (SMEs). Despite some initial success, it began to run into losses due to poor coordination and improper planning. After a period of struggle, the company stabilized its revenue from services business and expanded to mobile solutions, digital marketing, etc. But then the government of India announced the Startup India initiative at the beginning of 2016 to boost new ventures. Codezin did not qualify as per the government rules and thus failed to use the various incentives offered. Hence, it needs to determine a new strategy to compete with the onslaught of freshly funded startups but with a relative lack of market experience. Expected learning outcomes With the case discussion, the students will gain rich insights on technology businesses aimed at SMEs and the impact of changes in the regulatory regime in emerging markets like India. Further, they get to step into the shoes of the co-founders and choose between diversification vs new market development strategies, spurred by market disturbances and thinning competitive advantage. For more than 25 years, the framework of Ives, Hamilton, and Davis (1980) for research in computer-based (C-B) management information systems served hundreds of doctoral dissertations without yielding results of lasting validity. This paper summarizes the more lasting results from prior studies about the nature of informing for operations (whether human or robotic) as seen through the lens of decision-situation models. The model and framework of thinking about informing for operations entails fundamental concepts; basic distinctions; universal taxonomy of informing factors, their qualities, and priorities of their examination for research and practical applications; and quality requirements for factors in form and in substance. The paper summarizes the first identified principia. Informing and information, viewed physically, provides insights that clarify several controversial issues. This paper is presented to elicit challenge, critique, discussion, and suggestions in order to develop a mutual consensus among those dealing with informing.

The purpose of the research is to identify the problem in the port management information system, analyze what needs to be managed in the port management information systems, provide recommendations on the management of information systems management. The research method uses a qualitative analysis approach, in which the port management is still unsatisfactory, therefore, to manage port services requires technology application-based management information system the one that is currently being developed is Inaportnet, in the early stages of this technology application used for the port is already cultivated. The expected result is that the application of information technology-based systems are expected to increase the harbor management performance and the government is expected to direct, supervise and enforce the stakeholders in the port who violate the rules.
