Introduction: According to interdisciplinary research the transplanted organ representations play an important role in successful transplantation. Aim: The aim of the study was to assess the reliability and validity of the Hungarian version of Transplanted Organ Questionnaire in kidney transplant recipients. Method: 151 patients were assessed using the Spielberger Anxiety Inventory, the Beck Depression Inventory, the Posttraumatic Growth Inventory and the Transplanted Organ Questionnaire. Serum creatinine levels from routine clinical blood tests were collected. Results: The scale showed good internal consistency (Cronbach-alpha = 0.89; 0.87; 0.80), and the test-retest reliability was excellent. The Transplanted Organ Questionnaire scores moderately correlated with depression, anxiety and posttraumatic growth. The “Psychological rejection” scale correlated with higher serum creatinine level (p = 0.001, t = 5.17). Conclusions: The reliability and validity of the Hungarian version of Transplanted Organ Questionnaire in the studied sample were excellent. The questionnaire is a useful psychometric tool in the exploration of transplant patients’ representations about the donor and the organ. Orv. Hetil., 2016, 157(10), 385–391.

Összefoglaló. Bevezetés: Interdiszciplináris kutatásokkal igazolták, hogy a páciensnek a betegségéről kialakított elképzelései meghatározó szerepet játszanak a gyógyulási folyamat sikerességében. Célkitűzés: Vizsgálatunk célja az ezen elképzelések felmérésére kifejlesztett Rövid Betegségpercepció Kérdőív magyar nyelvű változatának megbízhatósági és validitási vizsgálata krónikus betegségben szenvedő, daganattal küzdő és transzplantált páciensek körében. Módszer: Keresztmetszeti vizsgálatunkban 490 páciens vett részt. A kérdőív validitásának vizsgálatára a Spielberger-féle Állapot- és Vonásszorongás Kérdőívet, a Beck Depresszió Kérdőívet és a Poszttraumás Növekedésérzés Kérdőívet alkalmaztuk, illetve felmértük a betegcsoportok életminőségét. Eredmények: A kérdőív belső megbízhatósága, a teszt-reteszt megbízhatósága kiváló. A kérdőív megbízható információt ad a pácienseknek a betegségükről kialakított elképzeléseiről. Orv Hetil. 2021; 162(6): 212–218. Summary. Introduction: Interdisciplinary studies confirm that patients’ illness perception can have a substantial effect on the healing process. A kérdőív skáláinak belső megbízhatósága megfelelőnek bizonyult (Cronbach α: 0,76–0,86). Az időbeli stabilitás vizsgálata során pozitív erős kapcsolatot találtunk a teszt-reteszt között [Kimerültség – r(121) = 0,92, p < 0,001; Leértékelés – r(123) = 0,90, p < 0,001; Teljesítmény csökkenése – r(123) = 0,60, p < 0,001]. A konvergens validitás vizsgálata során a korábbi kutatásokkal megegyező, gyenge-közepes korrelációkat kaptunk (r = –0,20–0,52) a sportolói kiégés három skálája és a sportmotiváció típusai, az észlelt edzői autonómiatámogatás mértéke és a perfekcionizmus formái között.Következtetések:A kérdőív magyarra fordított változata pszichometriailag megfelelő mérőeszköznek tekinthető, kiváltképp serdülők körében alkalmazva. Background and aims:The goal of this study is to investigate the psychometric characteristics of the Hungarian version of the Athlete Burnout Questionnaire (ABQ, Raedeke and Smith, 2001) and examinate the reliability and validity of this questionnaire.Methods:1317 athletes were involved in this study (mean age = 20,45; SD = 4,39; men = 649; women = 669). Beside the above mentioned questionnaire (ABQ-H), the Sport Climate Questionnaire (SCQ-H; Deci, 2001; Kovács, Gyömbér, F. Földi, & Lénárt, in press), the Sport Motivation Scale -2 (SMS-2; Smohai et al, 2019) and the Short Almost Perfect Scale (Reinhardt, Tóth and Rice, 2019) were applied for the validation. Results:The confi rmatory factor analysis showed consistency with the original structure. We found three, separated factors: reduced sense of accomplishment; emotional and physical exhaustion and devaluation. Internal consistency of the subscales (Cronbach-α: 0,76 – 0,86) proved to be adequate. Correlation coeffi cient for test-retest reliability was ranging from 0,60 to 0,92 (Exhaustion – r(121) = 0,92, p < 0.001; Devaluation – r(123) = 0,90, p < 0,001; Reduced sense of accomplishment - r(123) = 0,60, p < 0,001). Examination of convergent validity revealed small relationships (r = -0,20 – 0,52) – as it was found in the literature too – among the three scales of athletic burnout, the types of sportmotivation, the level of the perceived autonomy support from coach and the forms of perfectionism.Discussion:The Hungarian version of the ABQ seems to be a valid and reliable questionnaire to measure, among adolescent athletes particularly.

This investigation examined the links between preschoolers’ internalizing problems and anxiety-related social difficulties and two aspects of maternal and paternal psychological control: overprotection and critical control. Some 115 mothers and 92 fathers completed the New Friends Vignettes (NFV), a new measure of psychological control and supportive parenting designed to assess parenting relevant to young children’s internalizing problems and anxiety. Children’s anxious behaviors with peers at daycare or preschool were observed, mothers reported on preschoolers’ internalizing problems, and teachers reported on children’s internalizing problems and isolated behaviors. The NFV scales demonstrated good internal consistency and one-year test—retest reliability for mothers and fathers, and moderate convergent validity with observed parenting for mothers. Maternal overprotection and paternal critical control predicted more internalizing problems and anxious adjustment in preschoolers, with some associations being stronger for sons than daughters. Conversely, paternal supportiveness predicted fewer internalizing difficulties at preschool in daughters only. Children’s anxious behaviors predicted increasing paternal overprotection, and their internalizing problems at home and preschool tended to predict increasing maternal overprotection and critical control. Results support the reliability and validity of the New Friends Vignettes, and are indicative of parent differences in socialization processes, gender differences in risk for internalizing problems, and possible bidirectional pathways of influence in the socialization of internalizing trajectories.

Prosopagnosia, also known as facial blindness, has attracted wide attention in the social field in recent years. However, it mainly depends on the self-report of the chief complaint in the actual diagnosis. In addition, there is a lack of standardized measurement basis, which brings a lot of inconvenience to the patients themselves and follow-up researchers. In this study, we tested the reliability and validity of the Chinese version of 20 - item prosopagnosia index (PI-20). 647 young people aged 18-45 filled in PI-20, the adult autistic quotient scale, the empathy quotient questionnaire, and completed the retest one month later. Results showed that the PI-20 has good internal consistency reliability, test-retest reliability, and has good validity. In addition, confirmatory factor analysis shows that the model can well fit the data of Chinese population and can be used for large-scale measurement. The Chinese version PI-20 is a reliable measurement for prosopagnosia.

Depression and hopelessness can be associated with negative outcomes among offenders, such as reduced treatment impact, institutional misconduct, suicide risk, and health care costs. This study evaluated the reliability and validity of the Depression Hopelessness Suicide Screening Form (DHS) among women offenders. The DHS Depression and Hopelessness scales showed good internal consistency and test—retest reliability. Convergent and discriminant validities were supported through the relationship of the DHS with other established scales of depression, mood, suicidal intentions, and psychological distress. Optimal and conservative cutoff scores for the DHS Depression and Hopelessness scales were evaluated against criteria from a DSM-IV-based interview. Discussion centers on the importance of gender-based norms when assessing women offenders.

Abstract The aim of this article is to present the issues of religious experience, and the associated experience of God’s presence and God’s absence, and then its operationalization, as well as to construct the Intensity of Religious Experience Scale, IRES (Skala Intensywności Doświadczenia Religijnego, SIDR). The value of psychometric tool, the reliability and validity, were assessed. The study was conducted in three steps. Study 1 concerned the generalization of statements related to conception of Catholic religious experience; i.e., the subjective feeling whether one experiences God’s presence and God’s absence, and how such beliefs affect certain aspects of a person’s life. Study 2 was carried out on the sample of 217 people and was designed to perform Exploratory Factor Analysis and to assess three-week test–retest reliability of the IRES. Study 3 was based on the sample of 368 people and was aimed to perform Confirmatory Factor Analysis and concurrent validation of the IRES. The analysis of the religious experience showed that this kind of human experience has its own structure. The explication of the subject has confirmed the existence of two positive factors of religious experience; i.e., a subjective sense of experience of God’s presence and God’s absence that can influence on life of people living in the Catholic religion environment.

Abstract Objective Apathy is composed of different demotivational subtypes measurable by the dimensional apathy scale (DAS) and can be quickly assessed using the brief DAS (b-DAS). The aim was to determine the reliability and validity of the b-DAS. Methods 53 amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) patients and 53 of their informants were recruited. Informants completed the b-DAS, the original informant/carer-rated DAS and behavioral interview about the patients (i.e., presence of behaviors such as apathy/inertia, loss of sympathy/empathy). Patients completed measures of depression, anxiety, emotional lability, cognitive functioning, and functional disability measures. Results The b-DAS showed good internal consistency, excellent test–retest reliability, significant positive correlation with the original DAS, and no significant correlations with depression, anxiety, emotional lability, cognitive functioning or functional disability measures. Semi-structured behavior interview showed patients with apathy/inertia had significantly higher b-DAS subscale scores and patients with loss of sympathy/empathy had significantly higher emotional apathy scores only. Conclusions The b-DAS is a fast, reliable, and valid instrument for screening apathy subtypes independent of physical disability.

Background: The Multiple Sclerosis Self-Management Scale (MSSM) is currently the only measure that was developed specifically to address self-management among individuals with multiple sclerosis (MS). While good internal consistency (α = 0.85) and construct validity have been demonstrated, other psychometric properties have not been established. This study was undertaken to evaluate the criterion validity, test-retest reliability, and face validity of the MSSM. Methods: Thirty-one individuals with MS who met the inclusion criteria were recruited to complete a series of questionnaires at two time points. At Time 1, participants completed the MSSM and two generic self-management tools—the Partners in Health (PIH-12) and the Health Education Impact Questionnaire (heiQ)—as well as a short questionnaire to capture participants' opinions about the MSSM. At Time 2, approximately 2 weeks after Time 1, participants completed the MSSM again. Results: The available MSSM factors showed moderate to high correlations with both PIH-12 and heiQ and were deemed to have satisfactory test-retest reliability. Face validity pointed to areas of the MSSM that need to be revised in future work. As indicated by the participants, some dimensions of MS self-management are missing in the MSSM and some items such as medication are redundant. Conclusions: This study provides evidence for the reliability and validity of the MSSM; however, further changes are required for both researchers and clinicians to use the tool meaningfully in practice.

Background: Therapist self-practice, in its various forms, is common across therapeutic modalities, but a measure of its impact on participants does not yet exist. Aims: This paper describes the development and reliability testing of the ‘Self-focused Practice Questionnaire’ (SfPQ), a measure of self-perceived impact of one's self-focused practice. Method: Exploratory factor analysis (EFA), internal consistency and reliability were assessed in a convenience sample of 112 trainee therapists. Results: Five factors, rating impacts on therapist Personal-self (Awareness of Developmental experiences, Experience of Personal Change and Felt-sense/Self-awareness), and Therapist-self (Internalization of the Model, and Development of Empathy) were identified, with good internal consistency and acceptable to good test–retest reliability. Conclusions: Though more work is needed, these preliminary results support the SfPQ's reliability and validity. The SfPQ is an important measure, which may enhance routine rating of self-focused practice in training institutions.
