Abstract Nowadays, when we have a strong presence of computers in our everyday lives the protection of electronically processed information using digital machines becomes very important. It is related to accidental formation of electromagnetic fields which distinctive features are intrinsically linked to the nature of processed information. Although many protective measures are taken - from technical to organisational - this phenomenon still poses a great threat. Therefore, methods supporting information protection against the so-called electromagnetic infiltration are still being developed. In addition, these methods would support security of data processing and perhaps replace some of the currently used solutions characterised by high costs of implementation, or a small degree of ergonomics. Conducted research deals both with an analogue VGA and digital DVI standards. The article presents the results of the research concerning possibilities of manipulating the level of video signal (black colour intensity) and its influence on the quality of displayed images, that is, on the effectiveness of electromagnetic infiltration.

AbstractVariable angle spectroscopic ellipsometry has been used to characterize Cu(InGa)Se2 thin films as a function of relative Ga content and to study the effects of Cu off-stoichiometry. Uniform Cu(InGa)Se2 films were deposited on Mo-coated soda lime glass substrates by elemental evaporation with a wide range of relative Cu and Ga concentrations. Optical constants of Cu(InGa)Se2 were determined over the energy range of 0.75–C4.6 eV for films with 0 ≤ Ga/(In+Ga) ≤ 1 and used to determine electronic transition energies. Further, the changes in the optical constants and electronic transitions as a function of Cu off-stoichiometry were determined in Cu-In-Ga-Se films with Cu atomic concentration varying from 10 to 25 % and Ga/(In+Ga) = 0.3. Films with Cu in the range 16–24 % are expected to contain 2 phases so an effective medium approximation is used to model the data. This enables the relative volume fractions of the two phases, and hence composition, to be determined. Two distinctive features are observed in the optical spectra as the Cu concentration decreases. First, the fundamental bandgaps are shifted to higher energies. Second, the critical point features at higher energies become broader suggesting degradation of the crystalline quality of the material.

Ring-shaped fibulae are common finds related to the European Middle Ages. The fibula consists of a loop that has a variety of shapes and a pin that turns around its axis but cannot slide freely across the fibula body. There are ring-shaped fibulae of various forms and sizes made from precious and non-precious metals; quality of metalwork art also varies. Fibulae were especially popular in the 13th and 14th centuries. Fibulae also originate from treasure hoards, settlements, fortresses and graves; they were often depicted on the statues of the said period representing people who wore outer clothes. In graves fibulae could be placed near the pelvis or stomach. Typological and comparative analysis has been carried out taking into account the material fibulae are made of, and distinctive features of their shape. Various functions of ring-shaped fibulae as dress accessories are reviewed. Archaeological finds demonstrate a larger variety of functions associated with ring-shaped fibulae than the functions identified based on depictions on medieval statues. A stress is made on apotropaic meaning of ring-shaped fibulae; the author notes a multilayered nature of their symbolism based on inscriptions on some fibulae. It is emphasized that the discussed fibulae reflect developed character of medieval people’s world outlook and beliefs.

Fungi p. Fusarium is one of the most harmful pathogens of wheat diseases. Their harmfulness is caused both by direct losses due to decrease in yield, and indirect as a result of infection of the obtained products with mycotoxins and decrease in process, baking and sowing parameters of grain. Due to high potential losses, analysis of quantitative parameters of harmfulness of fusarium pathogens of spike and grain is relevant. The paper presents data showing the harmfulness of Fusarium of spike and wheat grain. The causes of direct and indirect losses in case of damage to wheat spike by fungi of p. Fusarium. Direct losses of crop yield are shown in the natural conditions of Minsk region and with the epiphytotic development of the disease in case of artificial infection, which can reach over 50 %. The effect of Fusaria on baking properties of wheat is analyzed. It was determined that grain damage causes decrease in weight of 1000 grains and the flour yield when it is used in the milling industry, as well as deterioration in its quality due to decrease in protein and crude gluten level. The effect of pathogens on sowing parameters of grain is determined. It is concluded that for use as seeds in terms of laboratory germination capacity, batches of grain infected with Fusarium only up to 15 % can be accepted. The data obtained will allow us to adapt protective measures against Fusarium of spike and grain and reduce its negative impact on crop yield and quality of the products obtained.

Abstract This article contributes a framework for the quality assessment of imputations within a broader structure to evaluate the quality of register-based data. Four quality-related hyperdimensions examine the data processing from the raw-data level to the final statistics. Our focus lies on the quality assessment of different imputation steps and their influence on overall data quality. We suggest classification rates as a measure of accuracy of imputation and derive several computational approaches.

Event-related potentials (ERPs) are noninvasive measures of human brain activity that index a range of sensory, cognitive, affective, and motor processes. Despite their broad application across basic and clinical research, there is little standardization of ERP paradigms and analysis protocols across studies. To address this, we created ERP CORE (Compendium of Open Resources and Experiments), a set of optimized paradigms, experiment control scripts, data processing pipelines, and sample data (N = 40 neurotypical young adults) for seven widely used ERP components: N170, mismatch negativity (MMN), N2pc, N400, P3, lateralized readiness potential (LRP), and error-related negativity (ERN). This resource makes it possible for researchers to 1) employ standardized ERP paradigms in their research, 2) apply carefully designed analysis pipelines and use a priori selected parameters for data processing, 3) rigorously assess the quality of their data, and 4) test new analytic techniques with standardized data from a wide range of paradigms.
