Macromodels of transformers with different types of relationships (not only inductance but also capacitance) on the basis of circuits with quasi-distributed parameters simulation were proposed. The analysis of resonant modes and frequency characteristics of transformers on the basis of katkons with identical parameters at the open and closed secondary circuit were obtained. Results of the study will help to evaluate the effectiveness of the practical application of these transformers to improve power factor and efficiency of the transmission, distribution and conversion of electric energy. Using the correct transformers macromodels on the bases of katkons with strong and weak coupling makes possible to realize polyfunctional filter-compensative devices and current-limiting devices with reduced weight and dimensions.

The paper confirms that the factor of power matters, however differently in different types of – wholly or partly hierarchical – transactions. Such a factor is considered in connection to exchange transaction where traditionally matter bargaining power and market power: the first manifests itself in the process of transaction, the second relates to the market as an exchange medium; in both cases examples of mixing their effects are not unusual. In addition the factors of reputation and enforcement are considered: the first is associated with power of contragent, the second with the ability to enforce the contract.

Respect is one of the central concepts in contemporary moral thought. It plays a prominent role in everyday, pre-philosophical moral thinking, as well as in recent moral theory and applied ethics. Yet basic questions about the concept and role of respect have received less attention than might be expected. This volume takes up some of these basic questions. The book is not meant to be a comprehensive handbook that covers all aspects of the topic of respect, nor is the focus of the book mainly historical. Rather, the aim is to give leading experts in the field a chance to present their latest ideas and point the research on respect in new directions. Following an introductory historical essay, Part I addresses questions of what respect is, its nature and basis. Part II examines questions in moral theory, for example what exactly ought to be respected, what role respect plays in morality, and which different types of respect are appropriate and morally significant. Part III deals with the practical application of requirements of respect. The essays in this volume will be of interest both to scholars and students working on issues of respect and to anyone interested in this central moral notion.

Research is aimed at the discovery and interpretation of facts, revision of accepted theories or laws in the light of new facts or practical application of such new or revised theories or laws. A sample provides needed information about the population quickly. However, there is no guarantee that any sample will be precisely representative of the population from which it comes. It is cheaper to observe a part rather than the whole. This chapter is a discussion on sampling in research and it is mainly designed to equip researchers with knowledge of the general issues to consider when sampling. The purpose of sampling in research, dangers of sampling and how to minimize them, types of sampling and guides for deciding the sample size are discussed. For a clear flow of ideas, a few definitions of the terms used are given. They highlight the types and methods of sampling, sampling errors and discusses techniques of sample size determination. Different types of sampling technique, how to carry them out, and their advantages and disadvantages are also introduced.

In most smart grids, load management techniques are required to handle multiple loads of several types. This paper studies decentralized demand-side management (DSM) in a grid with different types of appliances in two service areas: one with many residential households, and one bus with commercial customers. Each building runs an individual optimal DSM to reschedule the usage time of its flexible appliances to reduce its electric energy cost at a manageable sacrifice of inconvenience according to the forecasted time-varying electricity price. Using the developed model, we examined the effectiveness of decentralized DSM by comparing its performance on the operation status of the grid in terms of electricity cost saving, rooftop photovoltaic (PV) utilization efficiency, voltage fluctuation, power loss, voltage rises, and reverse power flows, which can easily be seen at the commercial load bus.

Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have been reported to have excellent thermal and mechanical properties over the past two decades. However, the practical application of CNT-based technologies has been limited, due to the inability to transform the excellent properties of single CNTs into macroscopic applications. CNT network structure connects CNTs and can be possibly scaled up to macro-scale CNT-based application. In this paper, nonequilibrium molecular dynamics is applied to investigate thermal transport across two CNTs connected longitudinally by molecular linkers. We show the effect of different types and lengths of molecular linkers on interfacial thermal conductance. We also analyze the density of vibrational normal modes to further understand the interfacial thermal conductance between different molecular linkers and CNTs. These results provide guidance for choosing molecular linkers to build up large-scale CNT-based network structures.

Energy is an important aspect in our day to day life. It is important to save energy wherever possible that to electric energy. We are suffering from electric energy crisis now-a-days. In order to save electric energy alternate system is chosen and it is implemented which would save electric energy. Wasting energy for supplementary or supporting works like machine door opening and closing considered as uneconomical. Energy consuming system consumes lot of energy for supporting works. In this energy saving concept two different types of system can be coupled to work as a single system which would save much energy than before. Our concept discusses about the same. Energy wastage for operating CNC machine door is taken for consideration in our work and analysis has been done on it. A new hydraulic operating system is proposed to overcome the difficulties.

Thermoelectric Generator is a device using the widespread natural temperature to generate electricity. On the basis of investigations and experiments, this paper fully expounded thermoelectric generator’s significance, system block diagram, circuits, operational principle, application foregrounds and etc. Semiconductor thermoelectric module and the controller compose the thermoelectric generator, semiconductor thermoelectric power modules change heat energy into electric energy, the electric energy is stored in the controller's battery by the charging circuit. The controller has many functions such as current limiting, under voltage and other functions. At the same time, we had also designed the step-up circuit, in this way, the thermoelectric generator can output higher voltage. The experiment results and application show the thermoelectric generator has good performance and powerful function, it is worth spreading.

Abstract In the work, there was a method of problems examination presented in the certified quality management system according to the ISO 9001 standard. The own method of problems examination was suggested on the basis of reports from audits of the third party. There are method assumptions as well as practical application presented for the examination of nonconformities and weaknesses on a sample of 892 organizations certified by a chosen certifying body. Different types of compilations of obtained results are showed. Different possibilities of their application for the examination of relations of identified problems were indicated, depending on the size and profile of examined organizations. Different types of statistical tests were used in the method together with their possibilities. Concrete examples of uses of the method and statistical tests were provided for examining the relations between the size as well as profile of the organization and the number as well as type of nonconformities and weaknesses. It was attempted to determine what possibilities the method provides and to give the examples of its practical use. Additionally, an attention was paid to potential difficulties when applying the method.
