An exhaustive analysis of the small-scale fading amplitude in the 60 GHz band is addressed for line-of-sight conditions (LOS). From a measurement campaign carried out in a laboratory, we have estimated the distribution of the small-scale fading amplitude over a bandwidth of 9 GHz. From the measured data, we have estimated the parameters of the Rayleigh, Rice, Nakagami-m, Weibull, andα-μdistributions for the small-scale amplitudes. The test of Kolmogorov-Smirnov (K-S) for each frequency bin is used to evaluate the performance of such statistical distributions. Moreover, the distributions of the main estimated parameters for such distributions are calculated and approximated for lognormal statistics in some cases. The matching of the above distributions to the experimental distribution has also been analyzed for the lower tail of the cumulative distribution function (CDF). These parameters offer information about the narrowband channel behavior that is useful for a better knowledge of the propagation characteristics at 60 GHz.

This work analyzes the characteristics of the small-scale fading distribution in vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) channels. The analysis is based on a narrowband channel measurements campaign at 5.9 GHz designed specifically for that purpose. The measurements were carried out in highway and urban environments around the city of Valencia, Spain. The experimental distribution of the small-scale fading is compared to several analytical distributions traditionally used to model the fast fading in wireless communications, such as Rayleigh, Nakagami-m, Weibull, Rice, andα-μdistributions. The parameters of the distributions are derived through statistical inference techniques and their goodness-of-fit is evaluated using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov (K-S) test. Our results show that theα-μdistribution exhibits a better fit compared to the other distributions, making its use interesting to model the small-scale fading in V2V channels.

We present a small-scale fading analysis of the vehicular-to-vehicular (V2V) propagation channel at 5.9 GHz when both the transmitter (Tx) and the receiver (Rx) vehicles are inside a tunnel and are driving in the same direction. This analysis is based on channel measurements carried out at different tunnels under real road traffic conditions. The Rice distribution has been adopted to fit the empirical cumulative distribution function (CDF). A comparison of theKfactor values inside and outside the tunnels shows differences in the small-scale fading behavior, with theKvalues derived from the measurements being lower inside the tunnels. Since there are so far few published results for these confined environments, the results obtained can be useful for the deployment of V2V communication systems inside tunnels.

Coronavirus belongs to the coronaviridae family. The coronavirus family groups are alpha (α), beta (β), gamma (γ) and delta (δ) coronavirus. Although research related to covid-19 in several provinces in Indonesia has been conducted by several researchers so far there has been no research related to the Covid-19 model in Papua province. One of the obstacles faced by some researchers is related to the Covid-19 data parameters which are difficult to estimate, so that the model formulated could not describe the outbreak well. Therefore the aim of this study is to conduct a cumulative analysis of the 2020 Papua province Covid-19 using the Johnson SB distribution model. The methods used to perform the analysis are Kolmogorov Smirnov for testing the suitability of the Covid-19 data to the model, Johnson SB to show the data distribution model, Maximum Likelihood to estimate the parameters and the Johnson SB cumulative distribution function to describe the probability of Covid-19 data. 19 Papua Province in 2020. The secondary data on the number of Covid-19 cases in Papua, obtained from the Papua Provincial Health Office is used in this research. The results showed that, the highest increase in the number of patients every day, starting from September 1 2020 to October 31, 2020 for infected cases was on 16-17 September, by 274 patients. Meanwhile, most recovery (308 patients) happened to be on 30-31 October and the highest death (5 people) was on 27-28 September. The highest cumulative probability for cases of infection, recovery and death were (Confirmed <4965) = 0.3, Prob(Cured <6408) = 0.9 and Prob(died <91) = 0.4 respectively.

We look at the issue of obtaining a variance like measure associated with probability distributions over ordinal sets. We call these dissonance measures. We specify some general properties desired in these dissonance measures. The centrality of the cumulative distribution function in formulating the concept of dissonance is pointed out. We introduce some specific examples of measures of dissonance.

This paper proposes two solutions based on angle diversity receivers (ADRs) to mitigate inter-cell interference (ICI) in underground mining visible light communication (VLC) systems, one of them is a novel approach. A realistic VLC system based on two underground mining scenarios, termed as mining roadway and mine working face, is developed and modeled. A channel model based on the direct component in line-of-sight (LoS) and reflections of non-line-of-sight (NLoS) links is considered, as well as thermal and shot noises. The design and mathematical models of a pyramid distribution and a new hemi-dodecahedral distribution are addressed in detail. The performances of these approaches, accompanied by signal combining schemes, are evaluated with the baseline of a single photo-diode in reception. Results show that the minimum lighting standards established in both scenarios are met. As expected, the root-mean-square delay spread decreases as the distance between the transmitters and receivers increases. Furthermore, the hemi-dodecahedron ADR in conjunction with the maximum ratio combining (MRC) scheme, presents the best performance in the evaluated VLC system, with a maximum user data rate of 250 Mbps in mining roadway and 120 Mbps in mine working face, received energy per bit/noise power of 32 dB and 23 dB, respectively, when the bit error rate corresponds to 10 − 4 , and finally, values of 120 dB in mining roadway and 118 dB in mine working face for signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio are observed in a cumulative distribution function.

This paper outlines a study of the effect of changing the electrical properties of materials when applied in the Wireless InSite (WI) ray-tracing software. The study was performed at 60 GHz in an indoor propagation environment and supported by Line of Sight (LoS) and Non-LoS measurements data. The study also investigates other factors that may affect the WI sensitivity, including antenna dimensions, antenna pattern, and accuracy of the environment design. In the experiment, single and double reflections from concrete walls and wooden doors are analysed. Experimental results were compared to those obtained from simulation using the WI. It was found that materials selected from the literature should be similar to those of the environment under study in order to have accurate results. WI was found to have an acceptable performance provided certain conditions are met.
