A vision and one of the next challenges in nanoelectronics is the 3D integration of nanowire building blocks. Here we show that capillary forces associated with a liquid-air meniscus between two nanowires provides a simple, controllable technique to bend vertical nanowires into designed, interconnected assemblies. We characterize the electric nature of the junctions between crossed nanowires in a lateral geometry, which is one type of basic unit that can be found in interconnected-bent vertical nanowires. The crossed nanowire junction is capacitive in nature, and we demonstrate that one nanowire can be used to field effect gate the other nanowire, allowing for the possibility to develop extremely narrow conducting channels in nanowire planar or 3D electronic devices.

Due to a number of advances in molecular biology, cell and tissue culture in combination with more sensitive methods to transduce biological signals, it has become increasingly feasible to detect unknown toxicity or pharmacological effects by using biological systems which are electrically coupled to micro- or nanoelectrodes or field-effect transistors (FETs). The coupling of biomolecules with electronic devices is demonstrated. In order to identify the contributions of the various cell signals we have investigated the coupling of cardiac myocytes with FETs. On the other side such systems can also be used to study the very basics of distributed information processing by interfacing cultured neuronal networks with microelectronic devices.

Background: Sensing of biomedical signals is crucial for monitoring of various health conditions. These signals have a very low amplitude (in μV) and a small frequency range (<500 Hz). In the presence of various common-mode interferences, biomedical signals are difficult to detect. Instrumentation amplifiers (INAs) are usually preferred to detect these signals due to their high commonmode rejection ratio (CMRR). Gain accuracy and CMRR are two important parameters associated with any INA. This article, therefore, focuses on the improvement of the gain accuracy and CMRR of a low power INA topology. Objective: The objective of this article is to achieve high gain accuracy and CMRR of low power INA by having high gain operational amplifiers (Op-Amps), which are the building blocks of the INAs. Methods: For the implementation of the Op-Amps and the INAs, the Cadence Virtuoso tool was used. All the designs and implementation were realized in 0.18 μm CMOS technology. Results: Three different Op-Amp topologies namely single-stage differential Op-Amp, folded cascode Op-Amp, and multi-stage Op-Amp were implemented. Using these Op-Amp topologies separately, three Op-Amp-based INAs were realized and compared. The INA designed using the high gain multistage Op-Amp topology of low-frequency gain of 123.89 dB achieves a CMRR of 164.1 dB, with the INA’s gain accuracy as good as 99%, which is the best when compared to the other two INAs realized using the other two Op-Amp topologies implemented. Conclusion: Using very high gain Op-Amps as the building blocks of the INA improves the gain accuracy of the INA and enhances the CMRR of the INA. The three Op-Amp-based INA designed with the multi-stage Op-Amps shows state-of-the-art characteristics as its gain accuracy is 99% and CMRR is as high as 164.1 dB. The power consumed by this INA is 29.25 μW by operating on a power supply of ±0.9V. This makes this INA highly suitable for low power measurement applications.

A new cadmium dicyanamide complex, poly[tetramethylphosphonium [μ-chlorido-di-μ-dicyanamido-κ4N1:N5-cadmium(II)]], [(CH3)4P][Cd(NCNCN)2Cl], was synthesized by the reaction of tetramethylphosphonium chloride, cadmium nitrate tetrahydrate and sodium dicyanamide in aqueous solution. In the crystal structure, each CdIIatom is octahedrally coordinated by four terminal N atoms from four anionic dicyanamide (dca) ligands and by two chloride ligands. The dicyanamide ligands play two different roles in the building up of the structure; one role results in the formation of [Cd(dca)Cl]2building blocks, while the other links the building blocks into a three-dimensional structure. The anionic framework exhibits a solvent-accessible void of 673.8 Å3, amounting to 47.44% of the total unit-cell volume. The cavities in the network are occupied by pairs of tetramethylphosphonium cations.

Phthalocyanines and subphthalocyanines are attracting attention as functional dyes that are applicable to organic solar cells, photodynamic therapy, organic electronic devices, and other applications. However, phthalocyanines are generally difficult to handle due to their strong ability to aggregate, so this property must be controlled for further applications of phthalocyanines. On the other hand, trifluoroethoxy-substituted phthalocyanines are known to suppress aggregation due to repulsion of the trifluoroethoxy group. Furthermore, the electronic characteristics of phthalocyanines are significantly changed by the strong electronegativity of fluorine. Therefore, it is expected that trifluoroethoxy-substituted phthalocyanines can be applied to new industrial fields. This review summarizes the synthesis and application of trifluoroethoxy-substituted phthalocyanine and subphthalocyanine derivatives.

For transistor, the limit of usable field-effect is defined by tunneling between the source and the drain - the mechanism that competes with field-effect as device dimensions shrink to near deBroglie wavelength. This is a more fundamental constraint in the operation of a field-effect transistor than random dopants, oxide thickness, doping magnitudes and depth, gate resistivity, soft-error rates, etc. We describe here a MOSFET structure, the straddle-gate transistor, that uses inversion regions as virtual source and drain, operates within the limits placed by the other constraints, and operates at acceptable power levels with good power gain and output conductance at 10 nm channel lenth. Experimental behavior of the straddle geometry are also described to summarized the advantages accrued using electron injection from the thin inversion regions.

This research aims to find out how online pre order sales and profit earning on PT Aventama, also how big is the effect of pre order online sales towards the profit on PT Aventama, and to get to know about what are the efforts that could be able to do for increase the company profits through online pre order sales. Theory that supports in this research was revealed by Oki Pamungkas, 2018 who said that online sales is  conducting sales activities from looking for potential buyers to offering products or goods by utilizing the internet network that is supported by a set of electronic devices as a link to the internet network, while Toto Prihadi 2012 said that profit is a measure of company's performance obtained from the results of reduction results of sales minus production costs. From conducted research, it can be obtained of the results of online pre order sales and company profits on PT Aventama, it's obtained results of 77.2% for online pre order sales and 35.7% for the profits and are categorized well. Then the correlation test is used for find out about the effect of online pre order sales with the results obtained at 84%, this value can be interpreted that the effect of online pre order sales to profits is very strong, while the other 16% is effected by other factors that it’s not examined by the author. Based on a simple linear regression analysis obtained Y '= 3.307 + 0.420X it means every online pre order sale is improved, it will be followed by an improve in company profit of 0.420 at a constant 3.037. With this research, it's expected that there will be a change in the company's profit through increasing online pre-order sales by creating advertisements, providing more complete ready stock products, and adding new suppliers so that the ordering process of products is faster to consumers

The modern world is noisy. Streets are cacophonies of traffic noise; homes and workplaces are replete with bleeping timers, announcements, and alarms. Everywhere there is the sound of human speech—from the casual chatter of strangers and the unwanted intrusion from electronic devices through to the conversations with friends and loved ones one may actually wish to hear. Unlike vision, it is not possible simply to “close our ears” and shut out the auditory world and nor, in many cases, is it desirable. On the one hand, soft background music or environmental sounds, such as birdsong or the noise of waves against the beach, is often comfortingly pleasurable or reassuring. On the other, alarms are usually auditory for a reason. Nevertheless, people somehow have to identify, from among the babble that surrounds them, the sounds and speech of interest and importance and to follow the thread of a chosen speaker in a crowded auditory environment. Additionally, irrelevant or unwanted chatter or other background noise should not hinder concentration on matters of greater interest or importance—students should ideally be able to study effectively despite noisy classrooms or university halls while still being open to the possibility of important interruptions from elsewhere. The scientific study of auditory attention has been driven by such practical problems: how people somehow manage to select the most interesting or most relevant speaker from the competing auditory demands made by the speech of others or isolate the music of the band from the chatter of the nightclub. In parallel, the causes of auditory distraction—and how to try to avoid it where necessary—have also been subject to scrutiny. A complete theory of auditory attention must account for the mechanisms by which selective attention is achieved, the causes of auditory distraction, and the reasons why individuals might differ in their ability in both cases.
