In digital holography, errors of the reference field degrade the quality of the reconstructed object field. In this paper, we propose an effective method in phase-shifting digital holography in which the reference field does not need to be known and perfect. The unknown complex amplitudes of both reference and object fields are derived simultaneously. The method employs only five digital holograms and a single execution of a phase retrieval algorithm. So, the required measurements and algorithm executions in this method are fewer than those in other methods; it suggests a simpler and faster method. The effectiveness of the suggested method is indicated by simulation, under noise-free and noisy conditions. Moreover, the capability of the method to extract full information about the phase singularities in both fields is demonstrated.

The quality of reconstructed images in relation to the bit depth of holograms formed by wavelength-selective phase-shifting digital holography was investigated. Wavelength-selective phase-shifting digital holography is a technique to obtain multiwavelength three-dimensional (3D) images with a full space-bandwidth product of an image sensor from wavelength-multiplexed phase-shifted holograms and has been proposed since 2013. The bit resolution required to obtain a multiwavelength holographic image was quantitatively and experimentally evaluated, and the relationship between wavelength resolution and dynamic range of an image sensor was numerically simulated. The results indicate that two-bit resolution per wavelength is required to conduct color 3D imaging.

In reconstruction of the off-axis digital hologram of diffuse reflection objects, the position of the positive first-order image cannot be accurately obtained because of the low quality of the reconstruction image. This paper focuses on the above problem and proposes a method for marking the first-order image of the 1-FFT surface based on the fast Fourier transform (1-FFT). The parameters of angle of illumination light were investigated, and the maximum relative measurement error is 5.6% by standard objects. The multiaperture stitching technique in cylindrical coordinates is applied to digital holography technology, and the particle swarm optimization algorithm is used to transform the nonlinear equations into optimization problems to solve the splicing parameters. Finally, the 3D display of a typical rotary three-dimensional mechanical part is successfully realized with holography stitching using the above method.

The quality characteristics of brebas for fresh consumption from nine fig varieties at different commercial ripening stages were determined. Physicochemical and nutritional parameters were analyzed for both skin and flesh, and the findings were compared among varieties and ripening stages. The results revealed that the major nutrient components in brebas are sugars, such as glucose and fructose, and mineral elements, including K, Ca, P, and Mg. Most nutrients evaluated are important elements that contribute to the commercial quality of brebas. “Brown Turkey” and “Banane” varieties showed the highest weight and width. The concentrations of the monomer sugars studied were higher in flesh than skin, and the “Cuello Dama Blanco” and “Colar Elche” varieties showed the highest content of these sugars. The early ripening stage, coinciding with a fast increase in fruit size, was also associated with a higher fiber and protein contents, TA, and firmness for “Banane,” “Brown Turkey,” and “Blanca Bétera” varieties. Conversely, the later ripening stage was related to a significant increase of TSS, MI, and color intensity. Finally, no clear changes in the concentrations of organic acids were observed between different varieties and commercial ripening stages.
