This paper studies the effect of water-cement ratio [w/ on the air-void parameters of cement concrete, which has a significant influence on the durability of concrete. Based on the experimental investigation, it is found that the impact on the air content of hardened concrete due to different water-cement ratio is not great. Test results also indicate that with the increase of water-cement ratio, the spacing factors also experienced a marked rise, and the mean diameters as well as the specific areas of air voids evidently increased or declined, respectively, which may lead to an adverse effect on the frost resistance of concrete.

In this paper, expanded polystyrene (EPS) lightweight concrete (LWC) was investigated. The mainaim was to design EPS LWC with the specified density of 1200 kg/m3 according to standard concretemix proportion. Mix proportion included total replacement of the conventional coarse aggregate bymaximum possible amount of EPS beads, which ensures concrete workability and prescribeddensity. The results demonstrated that exactly defined mixture-proportioning and casting procedureare required to achieve designed density. For designed EPS LWC mixture properties of freshlymixedconcrete and hardened concrete were analyzed. Based on test results it is concluded thatdesigned EPS LWC can be used for structural-insulating purpose such as floors and roofs.

Present paper deals with the experimental investigation of static modulus of elasticity of hardened concrete and its relation to compressive strength of concrete. Based on the number of measurement was derived expression of dependence of modulus of elasticity on compressive strength of concrete which was determined using cubic specimens; modulus of elasticity was measured using prismatic specimens of dimensions 100x100x400 mm. Studied concrete mixtures present commonly used concrete of all established strength classes.

Abstract This study was related to produce colored geopolymer concrete using metakaolin and adding two types of red (iron oxide) and green (chromium oxide) pigments with three additional ratios for each of the listed colors (0, 2, 4, 6 )% wt of metakaolin, and study some mechanical properties of colored geopolymer concrete. The experimental investigation has dealt with the fresh properties(slump) of the colored geopolymer concrete mixes as well as some of the mechanical properties of the hardened concrete by testing specimens in compressive strength, modulus of rupture, Rebound number (RN), and ultrasonic pulse velocity (UPV). Show us that (2% wt) pigment percentage gives the best results.
