Abstract. The Late Miocene (∼11.6–5.3 Ma) palaeorecord provides evidence for a warmer and wetter climate than that of today and there is uncertainty in the palaeo-CO2 record of at least 150 ppmv. We present results from fully coupled atmosphere-ocean-vegetation simulations for the Late Miocene that examine the relative roles of palaeogeography (topography and ice sheet geometry) and CO2 concentration in the determination of Late Miocene climate through comprehensive terrestrial model-data comparisons. Assuming that the data accurately reflects the Late Miocene climate, and that the Late Miocene palaeogeographic reconstruction used in the model is robust, then results indicate that the proxy-derived precipitation differences between the Late Miocene and modern can be largely accounted for by the palaeogeographic changes alone. However, the proxy-derived temperatures differences between the Late Miocene and modern can only begin to be accounted for if we assume a palaeo-CO2 concentration towards the higher end of the range of estimates.

The implementation of public relations in the socialization of the labor social security program at the BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Padang has not been carried out optimally because the socialization carried out does not cover all BPJS Employment stakeholders and socialization media that are underutilized optimally. The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation of public relations in the socialization of the labor social security program at the BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Padang. The method used is Qualitative Descriptive Research. Determination of Informants in this study was carried out with Snowball Sampling Techniques. Data collection is done through Observation, Interview and Documentation, with Model Data Analysis Techniques of Miles and Huberman. The findings in this study indicate that (1) the socialization of the labor social security program is not carried out directly to workers; (2) the lack of awareness of employers registering workers in the BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Padang program; (3) the media for socialization of the labor social security program has not been used optimally.Keyword: Public Relations, Socialization, Employment Social Security

LADI BEATRIEX DEENG. Determination of Utilization and Management Status of Bonito (Auxis Rochei) Caught in South Bolaang-Mongondow and East Bolaang-Mongondow Waters of North Sulawesi. Supervised by Mr. JOHN S. KEKENUSA as main supervisor, and Mr. HANNY A. H. KOMALIG as co-supervisor.Bonito (Auxis rochei), needs to be managed properly because even though it is a renewable biological resource, it can experience overfishing, depletion or extinction. One way to approach the management of fish resources is by modeling. The analysis was carried out aiming to determine the status of utilization and management of bonito and maximum sustainable yield (MSY) using the Surplus Production Model. Data on catching and efforts to catch bonito is collected from the Marine and Fisheries Service of South Bolaang-Mongondow Regency and East Bolaang-Mongondow of North Sulawesi. The surplus production model that can be used to determine the catch of bonito is the Schaefer model. The maximum sustainable catch of bonito is 869.556 tons per year, obtained at the level of catching effort of 933 trips. For 2017 the level of utilization is 64.95 % so that production can still be increased, with a level of effort of 73.74 % indicating the level of effort that is not optimal and can still be increased. Keywords : Bonito, Surplus Production Model, South Bolaang-Mongondow and   East Bolaang-Mongondow Regency

The combination of cyclic thermal stresses and sustained internal pressure in a vessel is shown to be a source of progressive expansion of the vessel if the stresses are sufficiently high. Criteria presented allow determination of limits to be imposed on stresses in order to prevent progressive expansion or to allow estimation of the expansion per cycle where stresses are sufficient to produce growth. The effect of strain-hardening of the metal on progressive reduction of the growth rate is discussed.
