AbstractWith the rapid development of science and technology, increasing research interests have been focused on environment protection, global warming, and energy shortage. At present, reducing friction force as much as possible has developed into an urgent issue. Sharkskin effect has the potential ability to lower viscous drag on the fluid-solid interface in turbulence, and therefore, how to fabricate bio-inspired sharkskin surfaces is progressively becoming the hot topic. In this review, various methods of fabricating drag reduction surfaces covering biological sharkskin morphology are illustrated and discussed systematically, mainly involving direct bio-replicated, synthetic fabricating, bio/micro-rolling, enlarged solvent-swelling, drag reduction additive low-releasing, trans-scale enlarged three-dimensional fabricating, flexible printing, large-proportional shrunken bio-replicating, ultraviolet (UV) curable painting, and stretching deformed methods. The overview has the potential benefits in better acquainting with the recent research status of fabricating sharkskin surfaces covering the biological morphology.

SYNOPSIS The call for disclosure of nonfinancial information has grown in response to the awareness that financial statements omit salient information about the company (Adams et al. 2011). This study follows earlier studies of nonfinancial disclosures of governance and corporate social responsibility information (Holder-Webb et al. 2008, 2009) and examines the public voluntary disclosure of a set of leading indicators of economic performance and sustainability of earnings provided during 2004 by a sample of 50 publicly traded firms across five industries. The results indicate that, among the sample firms, there remains a lack of rigorous and expansive disclosure of this type of information and that considerable variability exists in disclosure practice based on both industry and size. For example, companies disclose a wide variety of nonfinancial information both through mandatory filings such as 10-Ks and through alternative sources such as investor promotion materials and company websites, with the most frequent types of disclosures being concerned with information pertaining to market share and innovation. We conclude by discussing the role of this study within recent developments in integrative reporting (Adams et al. 2011) and suggest that these types of disclosures would benefit from the availability of assurance services. Data Availability: All information used in this paper is available from public sources.

AbstractDue to their high carrier mobilities, electromigration resistance, and tailorable optical properties, carbon nanotubes are promising candidates for high-performance electronic and optoelectronic applications. However, traditional synthetic methods have lacked control over the structure and properties of carbon nanotubes. This polydispersity problem has confounded efforts to take carbon nanotubes from the research laboratory to the marketplace, especially for electronic and optoelectronic applications, where reliable and reproducible performance is paramount. In recent years, the research community has devoted significant effort to this issue, leading to substantial advances in the preparation of monodisperse carbon nanotube materials. This article highlights the most recent and promising developments from two perspectives: post-synthetic sorting and selective growth of carbon nanotubes of predetermined physical and electronic structure. These complementary approaches have yielded improved uniformity in carbon nanotube materials, resulting in impressive advances in carbon nanotube electronic and optoelectronic technology.

At present, the drought periods are longer due to global warming, which has generated scarcity and water rationing, these conditions become the main problem in remote villages to urban areas and with little infrastructure. Mexico, with 653 aquifers throughout its territory, 106 are overexploited due to agricultural, mining, industrial and urban activities, which projects to the country a possible depletion and contamination of its vital liquid. For this reason, in order to contribute to a solution to the problem of water scarcity, by applying a control system to the technology used by the Peltier cells, a moderate flow of water is generated, since it condenses the particles of water suspended in the air. In this way, an array of Peltier cells will be implemented to obtain as much water as possible under environmental factors, such as humidity and temperature. In addition, when dealing with areas where the climate is arid, it is intended to use alternative sources of energy, of autonomous photovoltaic type, to take advantage of solar radiation and feed the control system in a self-sustaining manner.

Abstract: The church as a non-profit organization has a vision and mission related to effective fund management. Considering recent developments where the church is being challenged to face various world problems such as natural disasters, economic crises, pandemics, lack of funds, world inflation, the church must find a way out so that all the main activities of the church can run well. One of the most important factors in managing church funds is how the church can find alternative sources of income so that church funds do not depend solely on the congregation's love offerings and the congregation's tithe which tends to be increasingly uncertain in number. To answer the research problem, the author uses a qualitative research approach and through excavation of Luke 19:12-27. The purpose of this research is to provide a way out for churches in managing church funds. From the results of this study obtained a biblical method of investment, effective and low risk level.
