A novel core/shell hierarchical TS-1 zeolite has been prepared through one-pot desilication–recrystallization with the assistance of alkali and Gemini-type surfactant. Possessing multiple mesoporosities, the resultant material is highly active to alkene epoxidation.

Novel AgPd@MIL-100(Fe) core–shell NPs were fabricated by a facile one-pot method. The NPs are highly active for the dehydrogenation of formic acid without any additives at room temperature.
