“The Hebei Xiongan New Area Planning Outline” states that the carbon sink of the water body should be improved and the quality of Baiyangdian water should be improved by cleaning the sludge, but the treatment of endogenous pollution in the water body will release a large amount of carbon dioxide, which will reduce the carbon sink of Baiyangdian, which makes the improvement of water body quality and increasing carbon sink conflicting. In order to realize the coordinated development of Baiyangdian water quality improvement and carbon sink increase, this paper establishes the calculation model of the amount of sludge to be cleared to improve the unit water quality and the amount of carbon dioxide released by clearing the silt using the release flux and diffusion flux of nitrogen and phosphorus elements in the water body, and the relationship between the content of nitrogen and phosphorus elements, the depth of Baiyangdian sludge excavation and the amount of carbon dioxide released: as the content of nitrogen and phosphorus elements in the water decreases, the depth of sludge excavated to improve the unit water body increases, and the amount of carbon dioxide released gradually increases. As the nitrogen and phosphorus content in the water decreases, the depth of dredged sludge to improve the quality of the water body increases, the carbon dioxide released gradually increases, and when the nitrogen and phosphorus concentration reaches 0.18 g/m3 and 0.6 g/m3 respectively, the carbon dioxide released will increase exponentially. Thus, we propose countermeasures to improve the water quality of Baiyangdian and increase the carbon sink capacity: we can improve the water quality by reasonable dredging before the water quality reaches poor category 3; we can achieve the dual goals of improving the water quality and increasing the carbon sink by increasing the reed planting area.

Urban development, agricultural runoff and industrialization have contributed pollution loading on the environment.  In this study Hemavathi river water from a stretch from its origin point to its sangama was studied for pollution load by determining parameters of water quality like pH, Alkalinity,  Ca, Mg, Nitrate, TDS, BOD, COD , and the results were compared with WHO and BIS standards to draw final conclusion on the quality of water.

Changes of microbial indices of water quality in the Vistula and Brda rivers as a result of sewage treatment plant operationThis paper reports the results of studies of microbiological changes in the water quality of the Vistula and Brda rivers after the opening of sewage treatment plants in Bydgoszcz. The study involved determining the microbiological parameters of water quality. Based on the results obtained, it was found that the quality of the water in both rivers had improved decidedly after the opening of the plants, although an increased number of individual groups of microorganisms was found at the treated sewage outlet from one of the plants.

Environment degradation in Rawa Pening’s lake is caused of descend lake’s functions for some potentions and activities around the lake. Some problems in the Rawa Pening’s lake has emerged i.e : decrease water quality of lake, abundance of water hyacinth growth and increase sediment in the bottom lake. A research about infl uences of land ecosystem on Panjang and Galeh river corridors for Rawa Pening’s lake has been done. Two rivers named Galeh and Panjang are the largest water contribution in Rawa Pening’s lake. That caused the land characteristic ecosystem of that river corridors gives infl uences in the Rawa Pening’s lake.Key words: land ecosystem, river corridor, water contribution, Rawa Pening Lake.

The study aims to determine the quality of clean water in the villages of Wainitu, Batumerah, Amahusu and Halong by comparing the result of water quality analysis with water quality standard. Water quality analysis includes Physiscal, Chemical, and Microbiological parameters. This research uses descriptive method, this method describes systematics, accurate about facts and characteristic of the quality of clean water of each research location. The results showed that the source of clean water in the village of Batumerah did not meet the standard of clean water quality standards indicated by the number of E. coli and the high total coliform.  Keywords: standard quality of clean water, water quality, Wainitu, Batumerah, Amahusu and Halong villages   ABSTRAK Penelitian yang bertujuan untuk menetapkan kualitas air bersih di Desa Wainitu, Batumerah, Amahusu dan Halong, dengan membandingkan hasil analisis kualitas air dengan standar baku mutu air bersih.
