The Psychological Impact of Color and Light in Interior Design on Teenagers

Interior design is a wide profession that can drastically influence how people feel and use a room. Marco Costa’s research on the effect of color in a room and Markus Canazei’s study on the effect of natural light in a room both focused on how adults were influenced by light and color in rooms. This ultimately led to both studies in this research process focused on teenagers because there isn’t a great amount of research on how light and color can affect teenagers in a room. The results showed that teenagers have a preference towards neutral and cool tones as opposed to adults who prefer warm tones. Teenagers also have a preference towards natural light similar to adults. More research can be done on understanding how light and color can affect teenagers in other environments such as school settings. Further research is necessary to obtain more information on the psychological impact of interior design on teenagers.

Color and light painting as components of the creator̕ s world in I.A. Bunin̕ s story “The Mad Artist”: a philological analysis based on case-technology

The article is devoted to the analysis of the techniques of color painting and light painting in the story of the neorealist writer I.A. Bunin “The Mad Artist”. The relevance is due to the fact that in the modern education system, more attention is paid to innovative pedagogical receptions designed to optimize the educational process and ensure greater independence in work. In particular, interest in case technology is growing. The purpose of the article is the philological analysis of the story of I.A. Bunin’s “The Mad Artist” with the use of case technology techniques. The authors of the article take a case teaching the analysis and assessment of the situation as the basis for working with the text of the Bunin story. Based on it, the article presents an analysis of the linguistic parameters of a literary text and the means of their representation at the lexico-semantic level, revealing the techniques of color and light painting used by the writer in a work and participating in the implementation of the main principle of constructing a text – antithesis. The analysis is based on the comparative-comparative method, methods of citation and holistic analysis of a literary work. As a result of the research, a Russian language lesson was developed for high school students on the topic «Color and light painting as components of the creator’s world in I.A. Bunin̕ s story “The Mad Artist”» based on the techniques of case technology. The solution of the proposed case contributes to the development of creative and critical thinking of students, the formation of skills to work both individually and in pairs, the development of communicative and linguistic competencies.

Increasing workers comfort: experiment of the effect of color and lighting in assembly manufacture

Color and light are the main factors in the car manufacturing industry, with not much research, conducted on this topic, related to employee physical comfort. The factor affecting employee work comfort is the color factor and lighting time in their workplace environment. Color is the light, reflected by an object, then interpreted by the eye based on the light that hits the object. The value of the color wavelength in the spectrum of 380 nm to780 nm impacts worker performance. Good lighting will affect whether or not the room’s light conditions affect the illumination’s value. A good working room condition will affect the physical comfort of employees. Employee physical comfort has developed in many previous studies. However, research on the configuration of colors and lighting in the manufacturing industry’s work environment is still underdeveloped. This research aims to measure and determine the impact of color and lighting at specific color wavelengths on the illumination value and the employee’s physical comfort. It starts with studying the color, light, human comfort, then examines the effect on the manufacturing industry employees’ performance in the wiring installation assembly industry. Color and light settings are proven essential to get better human comfort. Green color with a wavelength of 490 nm to 570 can increase the highest illuminate average lux value of 12.43 %. Yellow can increase the heart rate by 4.85 %, while green can reduce Diastole by 2.95 % and Systole by 1.29 %. Pupillary size changes L by 23.17 % and R by 21.43 %. The effect of green color and lighting time can increase the value of illumination and decrease heart rate, blood pressure, and pupil size so that it impacts the physical comfort of employees.

Embodied empathy: Using affective computing to incarnate human emotion and cognition in architecture

This research aims to develop a cyber-physical adaptive architectural space capable of real-time responses to people’s emotions, based on biological and neurological data. To achieve this goal, we integrated artificial intelligence (AI), wearable technology, sensory environments, and adaptive architecture to create an emotional bond between a space and its occupants and encourage affective emotional interactions between the two. The project’s objectives were to (1) measure and analyze biological and neurological data to detect emotions, (2) map and illustrate that emotional data, and (3) link occupants’ emotions and cognition to a built environment through a real-time emotive feedback loop. Using an interactive installation as a case study, this work examines the cognition-emotion-space interaction through changes in volume, color, and light as a means of emotional expression. It contributes to the current theory and practice of cyber-physical design and the role AI plays, as well as the interaction of technology and empathy.

Hardware and Software System for Determination of Iron in Coagulants Based on Spectrophotometric Analysis

Methods for determining the coagulant concentration in the process of electrocoagulation are considered. An experimental laboratory setup for researching photometric analysis processes was created, the principle of which is on the determination of color and light intensity in real time. Based on spectrophotometric analysis an artificial neural network (ANN) has been developed to determine the coagulant concentration (Fe) in real time, which according to the obtained values of RGB converts to the color space of HSL, and then converts to the value of the concentration of Fe. Software for determining the concentration of iron in a coagulant using artificial intelligence has been developed, which is a web application that displays the color parameters of a coagulant, a certain concentration of iron in a coagulant, and also saves the history of all measurements to a database. While investigating ANN by various methods, an optimizer was matched for the respective process, the standard deviation (RMSE) is 6.91%.

Interpretation Strategies of Contemporary Musical and Theatrical Art: Trends, Factors

Relevance of the study. The modern interpretive content main tendencies of the European and Ukrainian musical and theatrical art were analyzed. Forms of interpretation being were considered in the coordinates of the “composer-listener-performer” triad in the aspect of its correspondence to its time artistic intentions. The scientific novelty of the study is in the analysis of innovative projects most of which are not adapted to musicology and in the formulation of trends and factors of modern musical art’s interpretive policy. Main objective of the study is to determine the specifics and factors of the modern interpretations of a musical and theatrical art. Methodology. The following methods have been adapted: the interpretive — in relation to the analyzed opera projects; the hermeneutic-semantic — for the purpose of identify the interpreted works’ intonation-image specificity; the comparative — to juxtaposition the “interpretive behavior” of one work in different performance versions; the intonation-dramaturgical analysis — to study the specifics and factors of works’ interpretive versions. Results and conclusions. The modern interpretive reality initiates the emergence of radically new and the consolidation of existing non-standard trends in the work’s representation. These are: the instrumental performing theatricalization, significant expansion of the improvisation’s zone, abandonment of the opera genre canons with an emphasis on synthetic genres of performative nature and the use of bold audio, scenographic, color and light effects. The modern interpretative main trends are the actualization, the alienation and the emergence of working remote versions, the encroachment on the textual and intonational essence of a known work by adding the new material (the integral opus or the fragmentary inlay), the emergence of modern composer’s alternative role which is a co-author of a new hybrid product thanks to the connection to the work of the past. Findings of the research. The specifics and factors of work’s variant-interpretive realization are analytically argued. The main factors are the genre-intonation specificity, the synthetic and intertextual nature, the complexity and synergy of text semantic intentions, the recipient’s culturalhistorical awareness, the socio-cultural intentions’ balance of the author and his artistic will performers, the degree of text openness, the context. Prospects for further exploration in this direction. The following research areas are needed: 1) the development of new methods and terminological apparatus suitable for the modern artifacts’ analysis; 2) the analytical base’s expansion due to: a) the further accumulation of examples, b) the scientific adaptation of various genres’ works.

COLORONYMS AND LUXONYMS AS A MEANS OF CREATING ARTISTIC IMAGE IN HISTORICAL PROSE BY V. IPATOVA AND V. KARATKEVICH

The article examines the color and light vocabulary, with the help of which the authors create a figurative system of artistic text. It is a universal tool for creating a figurative and expressive characteristics of a real, ethnocultural space. The use of coloronyms and luxonyms in the historical prose of the authors, their linguistic interpretation indicates the determination of the individual author’s specificity of the perception of color by the writer and the adequate associative connection of color combinations arising from the reader. Creating a masterfully figurative picture or model of a certain ethnic group in the context of a work of art is an important task of every writer who conveys his vision of the world through different semantic groups of words as elements of artistic imagery. This also applies to the corresponding group of vocabulary denoting color and light. The semantic group of words denoting color is used in any work of art: in one the frequency of use of color designations is greater, in the second - less. Selected literary works on historical themes by V. Ipatova and V. Korotkevich are widely saturated with color vocabulary, which deserves a multifaceted analysis. The perception of the artistic word is an individualized phenomenon and is unique in the history of national literature and culture in general. The writers virtually penetrated into ancient events, rites and customs, skillfully described their heroes, national color, ethnic culture, social and spiritual life not only of Belarusians but also of other nations. The authors have made extensive use of the color palette, which involuntarily attracts the attention of readers and affects their figurative imagination. The peculiar style of writing of each author, the lexical and systemic organization of their texts, which organically include coloronyms, give the opportunity to vividly imagine the verbal picture of the world created by the writer. It should be noted that when describing a broad historical panorama, the authors often use color in the lexical microsystem as a means of creating a highly artistic text. Language in works of art of the historical genre acts not only as a means of communication, but also as a carrier of artistic imagery.

Psychological correction of neuropsychiatric state of people who have suffered a stroke in the conditions of sensory room

The subject of this research is the examination of capabilities of psychological correction of neuropsychiatric state of people who have suffered a stroke in the conditions of sensory room. The goal consists in correction of neuropsychiatric state of people who have suffered a stroke. The methodological framework is comprised on the provisions of V. L. Zhevnerov, L. B. Baryaeva, Y. S. Gallyamova on the therapeutic effect of sensory room; provisions on effect of color upon the emotional state of a person formulated by M. Lüscher., G. G. Vorobyov, V. V.  Nalimov. V. M. Elkin. The article provides the results of experimental research of the capabilities of psychological correction of neuropsychiatric state of people who have suffered a stroke in the conditions of sensory room. The theoretical importance of this work consists in systematization of theoretical positions on the subject matter. The practical significance consists in the fact that the acquired results can be applied by practical or clinical psychologist in working with people who have suffered a stroke, in rehabilitation institutions, as well as with people with disabilities. The scientific novelty lies in substantiation of the effect of color and light upon the improvement of neuropsychiatric state of people who have suffered a stroke. The acquired results can considerably expand the representations of capabilities of practical work of the clinical psychologist, as well use of the method of chromo therapy. The implementation of such method indicates the improvement of neuropsychiatric state of people who have suffered a stroke: reduction of anxiety; prevalence of hyperthymic type of mental state reflected in such basic emotions as interest and wondering; improvement of the indicators of emotional comfort, adaptivity, acceptance of self and others.

FLEXIBLE ARCHITECTURAL ENVIRONMENT. SYSTEM ANALYSIS. PROCESS ASPECT

This article examines a flexible architectural environment as a system that can change itsnparameters under the influence of various factors. These changes are motivated by the development or adaptation of the system to external environmental factors. A flexible architectural environment is considered as a system from the point of view of the procedural aspect, which determines changes in the system at various levels, as well as changes in the connections between the internal elements of the system. In this aspect, the internal elements of the system can be identified, with the help of which the flexibility of the architectural environment is achieved. Three levels of change and development of the system are considered in detail: material, functional, and aesthetic. The material and functional level involves changes in the system, which are achieved by structural elements and equipment. The aesthetic level implies changes in the system with elements such as color and light, materials, textures and decor. These groups of elements of the system undergo changes in internal connections, which are formal and aesthetic in nature.
