Individual's senescence process takes place slowly and continuously beyond generates several changes including skin aging, since the decline in cellular activities. Countless resources have been created over the years, with the goal of stopping and / or reversing the unsightly aspects of the skin caused by this process. Thus, plasma jet, a new therapeutic resource has been used in order to promote rejuvenation through the reduction of wrinkles and expression lines. Objective: To evaluate the pattern of thermal variation of the tissue treated with a plasma jet, using infrared thermography. Methodology: This was a series of clinical cases involving 5 female patients over the age of 40 who had facial wrinkles. Patients were previously evaluated and anesthetized. Then, plasma jet therapy was performed in the supra-orbital region. Patients were evaluated for thermal imaging before and after anesthesia and post-therapy. Result: It was found through thermographic analysis, a significant variation in the temperature coefficient of the skin where the anesthetic was applied and then the plasma jet (ΔT > 0.4 °C). Conclusion: The present study proved through the use of thermography that the plasma jet was able to generate an increase in local temperature. The authors suggest that such thermal variation may be the result of a process of vasodilation in the treated region.

Background: To determine the role of topical β- blocker in the management of residual hemangioma after propranolol therapy. Method: A retrospective study of all pediatric patients presenting with hemangioma from April 2014 to March 2019 was performed. Topical timolol gel was applied over the residual hemangioma which persisted even after one year of propranolol therapy. Result: Out of 68 patients included in this study 45 (70.3%), patients had complete resolution by one year using the treatment with propranolol. In 14 patients (21.8%) had residual lesion even after 1 year of treatment, upon which we applied topical timolol 0.5% gel for further 4 to 6 months. (Mean 5.35 months). At the end of the treatment, hemangioma was almost resolved. Conclusion: Timolol is a safer alternative to propranolol for residual hemangioma as a sequential treatment. It augments the regression of residual hemangioma with minimal side effects.

In the recent years there has been an unprecedented increase in the incidence of Gastrointestinal System disorders due to change in lifestyle, diet pattern, behavioral pattern, mental stress and also hazardous use of painkillers. Ayurveda comes with varieties of treatment options to cure the GI disorders without causing any harmful effect. The aim of this study is to compare between Shodhan and Shaman therapy in Amlapitta, to evaluate the efficacy of Virechana Karma and Shaman Chikitsa. The criterions of diagnosis of patients was based on sign and symptoms of Amlapitta and Ayurvedic and modern text. Two groups were taken, and duration of study was of one month. In group A, virechana therapy was given with Trivritadi Kwath, and in group B, shaman therapy was given with Avipatikara churna. Follow up of patients was done after given therapy. Result shows that shodhana therapy is more effective than shaman therapy in patients of Amlapitta.

The most important and widely used emetic is ‘Madanaphala yoga’ administered orally. While further elaborating the Vamana Karma classics also mentions that the persons who are reluctant to take medicine orally can be made to emit by giving the medicine as an errhine. With this classical background, the present study made an attempt to understand the olfactory route of medicine administration to induce Vamana against the oral route. Madanaphala (Randia Dumatorum) seed powder sprinkled over lotus and rose flow-er were used as Ghreya Vamaka Yoga in comparison with Madanaphala Yoga administered orally. Objec-tives: To evaluate the efficacy of Ghreya Yoga in inducing Vamana through Nasal Route. To evaluate the Olfaction effect through Rose medium, in comparison with Lotus medium. To evaluate the efficacy of Na-sal route as against the Oral route. Methods: A Comparative clinical study done on 45 subjects of both sexes, between the age group of 21-50years who were randomly assigned into 3 groups namely- Group-A, Group-B and Group-C. Vamana karma with Ghreya Madanaphala Pippali Churna sprinkled on lotus flower, rose flower and Madanaphala pippali yoga administered orally. The Vamana karma was done in the following order: Purva karma, Pradhana karma & Paschat karma. After the completion of the thera-py, the results were assessed by comparing the data collected during the therapy. Result: Nasal route of administration of Vamaka yoga also works efficiently, Ghreya yoga worked in par with oral yoga & Madanaphala Pippali Churna sprinkled over lotus and rose produced same effect in inducing Vamana.

The principal aim of Ayurveda is to maintain and promote positive physical and mental health as well as ensure the prevention of diseases. Sandhigata Vata is the commonest form of articular disorder. It is a type of Vatavyadhi which mainly occurs in Vriddhavastha due to Dhatukshaya, which limits everyday activities such as walking, dressing, bathing etc. It occurs due to change in lifestyle like unsuitable sitting, sleeping, standing and look upwards or obliquely in various professions. Osteoarthritis (OA) is degenerative joint disorder, represents failure of the diarthrodial (movable, synovial lined) joint. OA of the joints comes under the inflammatory group which is almost identical to Sandhigata Vata described in Ayurveda with respect to etiology, pathology, and clinical features. Marma therapy is one which gives instant relief from pain by balancing local Vata and Kapha Dosha without any untoward effects. In the present research work, total 15 diagnosed case of Sandhigata Vata were randomly selected from OPD and IPD of department of Shalya Tantra, Rishikul Campus, Uttarakhand Ayurveda University, Haridwar (U.K.) India, all these patients were treated with the application of Marma therapy. Result was observed on the basis of subjective and objective parameters and analysed statistically. No complications were observed in this clinical study.

Minocycline is a tetracycline compound with pleiotropic pharmacological properties. In addition to its antibacterial action, it shows many non-antimicrobial effects, including an anti-cancer activity. The anti-cancer action was confirmed in studies on ovarian carcinoma cells, hepatocellular carcinoma cells, glioma cells, or acute myeloid leukemia cells. Malignant melanoma remains a serious medical problem despite the extensive knowledge of the disease. The low effectiveness of the standard treatment, as well as the resistance to therapy, result in high mortality rates. This work aimed to investigate the potential and mechanisms of anti-melanoma action of minocycline. Human skin melanotic melanoma cell line COLO 829 was used in the study. The obtained results showed that minocycline decreased cell viability and inhibited the growth of melanoma cells, proportional to the drug concentration as well as to the time of incubation. The EC50 values were calculated to be 78.6 µM, 31.7 µM, and 13.9 µM for 24 h, 48 h, and 72 h, respectively. It was observed that treated cells had a disturbed cell cycle and significantly changed morphology. Moreover, minocycline caused a decrease in mitochondrial membrane potential and an increase in cells with a low level of reduced thiols. Finally, it was found that the anti-melanoma effect of minocycline was related to the induction of apoptosis. The drug activated caspases 8, 9, and 3/7 as well as increased the number of annexin V-positive cells. The presented results show that minocycline possesses anti-melanoma potential.
