Although there are differences in identity construction depending on countries and periods, some courses have come to the fore in the education system in each per i od. In Turkey, the education system in general, and history, geography, citizenship and social studies courses, in particular, have instrumental importance in the construction of identity. When the literature is examined, it can be observed that there are many studies on history, social studies and citizenship lessons for identity construction. However, there is a limited number of studies on identity construction for the geography curricula. The main purpose of this research was to examine the secondary education geography curricula in Turkey in terms of identity and citizenship construction. The study was planned and carried out as a qualitative case study. Case studies often describe the exploration of a bounded system. In this research, the sample was limited to the 2005 and 2018 geography course curricula, and a detailed description was made by using “content analysis” based on the research purpose. As a result of the research, it was determined in both curricula that the national identity theme had the most expressions, and national identity was aimed to be built by presenting details about the geography of the homeland. In addition to national identity, it was determined that there were also contents related to social identity, ecological identity, universal identity, and a limited number of digital identity and religious identity themes.

Industrialization in Indonesia has decreased since the economic crisis in 1998, it's just that this decline does not mean that Indonesia does not have the capital to invest in domestic industries, but rather attacks domestically produced goods. From the above statement and added to our observations conducted in Banjaran Village, then we made a research entitled "The Impact of Industrialization on Education, Economy and Religion in the Village of Banjaran, Kec. Sumber Jaya Kec. Majalengka. This research uses a case study research method or as an exploration of related systems (bounded systems) or cases. The data sources used are primary and secondary data from the research we found, as well as data collection instruments such as documentation and interviews with aimed at. There are three aspects we examined, namely aspects of education, religion and economic aspects. Educational aspects, namely the learning model, learning methods and the use of the school library. Meanwhile, from the religious aspect, namely, the lack of regeneration in building to enliven the mosque is very minimal, as well as the religious aspect of the lack of insight in entrepreneurship. So this research adds to the experience where, reactivates reading media (libraries), reactivates and enlivens religious activities and opens the potential for entrepreneurship so that many ideas for entrepreneurship are created.

Context. Galaxy groups provide the means for a great diversity of studies that contribute to a better understanding of the structure of the universe on a large scale and allow the properties of galaxies to be linked to those of the host halos. However, the identification of galaxy systems is a challenging task and therefore it is necessary to improve the techniques involved as much as possible. Aims. In view of the large present and forthcoming galaxy catalogues, we propose, implement, and evaluate an algorithm that combines the two most popular techniques used to identify galaxy systems. The algorithm can be easily applied to any spectroscopic galaxy catalogue, but here we demonstrate its use on the Sloan Digital Sky Survey. Methods. Assuming that a galaxy group is a gravitationally bounded system that has at least one bright galaxy, we begin by identifying groups with a friends-of-friends algorithm adapted to fit this definition. In view of the shortcomings of this method, particularly the lack of ability to identify low-number groups, and consequently the inability to study the occupation of halos throughout the mass range, we improve it by adding a halo-based procedure. To assess the performance, we construct a mock catalogue from a semi-analytical model to compare the groups identified using our method with those obtained from the simulation. Results. The comparison of groups extracted using our method with those of a mock catalogue shows that the proposed algorithm provides excellent results. The modifications introduced to the friends-of-friends algorithm in the first part of the procedure to fit the adopted group definition gave reliable groups. Furthermore, incorporation of the halo-based method reduces the interlopers while more accurately reproducing the number of galaxies per group. As a specific application, we use the algorithm to extract groups from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey.

In this manuscript, the synchronization of four-dimensional (4D) chaotic systems with uncertain parameters using a self-evolving recurrent interval type-2 Petri cerebellar model articulation controller is studied. The design of the synchronization control system is comprised of a recurrent interval type-2 Petri cerebellar model articulation controller and a fuzzy compensation controller. The proposed network structure can automatically generate new rules or delete unnecessary rules based on the self-evolving algorithm. Furthermore, the gradient-descent method is applied to adjust the proposed network parameters. Through Lyapunov stability analysis, bounded system stability is guaranteed. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed controller is illustrated using numerical simulations of 4D chaotic systems.

The uncertain free vibration analysis of engineering structures with the consideration of nonstochastic spatially dependent uncertain parameters is investigated. A recently proposed concept of interval field is implemented to model the intrinsic spatial dependency of the uncertain-but-bounded system parameters. By employing the appropriate discretization scheme, evaluations of natural frequencies for engineering structures involving interval fields can be executed within the framework of the finite element method. Furthermore, a robust, yet efficient, computational strategy is proposed such that the extreme bounds of natural frequencies of the structure involving interval fields can be rigorously captured by performing two independent eigen-analyses. Within the proposed computational analysis framework, the traditional interval arithmetic is not employed so that the undesirable effect of the interval overestimation can be completely eliminated. Consequently, both sharpness and physical feasibility of the results can be guaranteed to a certain extent for any discretized interval field. The plausibility of the adopted interval field model, as well as the feasibility of the proposed computational scheme, is clearly demonstrated by investigating both academic-sized and practically motivated engineering structures.

Peer researchers are members of a population under study who have a decision-making role or staff position on a research team. Peer researchers are increasingly required for funding proposals to succeed in Canadian HIV/AIDS research, and are strongly recommended for community-based participatory research in other fields. There is a need to better understand peer researchers’ motivations and their impact, both positive and negative, on studies they take part in. The emerging theory of post-professionalism informed a bounded system case study approach, whereby four peer researchers from an HIV, social work, and brain health study were conveniently sampled, then interviewed concerning their experiences and insider-outsider positioning. Personal interest and community leadership were key motivations behind their involvement; language barriers and managing multiple roles were key challenges. Participants identified a risk inherent in the performative interval, considering whether their contributions were a projection of self rather than a representation of participant contributions. Tension between social location and the insider positioning expected of peer researchers requires that academic researchers recognize the personal and social investments that peers make to a study. This paper presents considerations for how healthcare researchers can better engage as peers with peer researchers.

Purpose This study aims to investigate the challenges of developing information literacy (IL) competencies and approaches to overcome the challenges among library and information science (LIS) students in Iran. Design/methodology/approach Taking an exploratory approach, the study used semi-structured interviews to gather the data. Using the 2000 ACRL standards as a framework, the fieldwork questions were designed around the five areas of IL competencies. A total of 15 academics teaching 18 different LIS courses from six universities were interviewed. They were asked the challenges they faced in teaching these competencies and the approaches they took or suggested in overcoming the challenge(s). A thematic approach was used to analyze the data. Findings Some of the challenges for students mentioned by the interviewees were ambiguity about the discipline, inability to match subject relevance with appropriate sources of information and lack of familiarity with databases. Research limitations/implications This study is limited to LIS academics; studying students’ reflections can bring broader perspectives to IL education in LIS programs. Owing to the nature of the design of this study, which is a single case study, the teaching experiences of IL are limited to the ones which emerged and were addressed in the context of the case. Although the case selection was made in a way that can be representative of the “general” in the “particular” bounded system of the case (Stake, 1998), studying more cases could certainly have brought broader perspectives to IL which could have been to wider contexts. Originality/value The results of this study contribute to our understanding of challenges in teaching IL in the LIS discipline, an area that has not been researched directly. This contributes to IL teaching in disciplinary areas and it brings new perspectives to the elements of IL teaching which emerged from the experiences of people who are directly experienced in the context of the discipline.
