The possibility of using ultrasonic surface hardening with implementing the indenter tangential oscillations to the deformed surface to improve the quality of the detail surface layer produced from low carbon steel and ferrous alloys is considered in the paper. The mathematical description of the trajectory of the relative displacement of the instrument and the detail is presented. It is established that the important technological parameter influencing the character of the formed micro-geometry is the angle between the instrument vectors and the detail speed. The effect of the technological factors of the ultrasonic surface hardening on the amplitude and spacing parameters of the surface roughness are revealed. The results of the research showed that the ultrasonic processing at the tangential oscillations of the indenter allows forming a stable micro-geometrical state of the surface layer with low values of the amplitude and spacing parameters on the details made from non-ferrous alloys and low carbon steels.

The article presents the application of artificial intelligence methods in the form of artificial neural networks (SSN) for modeling the geometrical state of a product shaped in the EDM process. The SSN with different architecture and different learning algorithms were implemented. The models' quality and their effectiveness in predicting some geometrical features of tool steel products were examined.

Abstract The article presents comparative research on the effects of milling of concave corners of elements made of aluminum alloy 7075. The work focuses on the study of the impact of changes in technological parameters and types of machining on the obtained geometrical state of the machined samples. Correct milling of the corners requires selection of the appropriate feed rate and the proper engagement angle of the milling cutter. At the corners, tool engagement angle increases, which significantly hinders the execution of stable machining and adversely affects the geometric and qualitative characteristics of the surface in the corners. Study with application of various strategies and technological parameters of milling corners with variable opening angles were carried out. The main parameters of surface roughness of the machined elements were examined. When analyzing the results obtained, conclusions were formulated indicating the relationship between the change of selected technological parameters, with the assumed type of treatment, and the obtained quality parameters of the samples made.

Abstract The paper presents an analysis of the influence of multiannual coal exploitation on the church situated in Bytom–Miechowice. The objects has been monitored for many years by classic measurement methods as well as by the laser scanner. The measurements performed in 2015 allowed for a comprehensive analysis of the geometrical state of the construction. Laser scanning method enabled creating a model of the current state of the building and comparing with theoretical dimensions and dependents. The article focuses on the specific of conducting spatial analysis, which must take into account not only geometry of the construction, but also the kinematics of terrain deformations as well.
