ASSESSMENT OF THE IMPACT OF ANTHROPOGENIC AND TECHNOGENIC FACTORS ON THE CONTAMINATION OF THE SOIL COVER OF THE CITY

The aim of the study is to assess the ecological state of the territory of an industrial city based on moni-toring the soil cover. In the winter period, the study of the soil cover of the urbanized territory for the con-tent of sulfates, nitrates, chlorides was carried out, and the pH values were determined. Analysis of the spatial distributions of the studied substances in the soil cover in the area of influence of a large industrial center show the variation of the content of pollutants due to the impact of anthropogenic sources; there is an excess of the background concentration for all tested ingredients. In the course of the research, it has determined that it is advisable to use data on soil pollution in the study area as a means of control-ling the impact of anthropogenic sources on the environment.

Application of Process Mapping as an Improvement of an Integrated Management System in a Steel and Pipe Company in the Manaus Industrial Center

This academic work will demonstrate a project applied within a company of Steel, Tubes and Connections in the industrial pole of Manaus. The objective of this project is the unification, through an integrated communication system, of all sectors of the company. So that you no longer need to use other means of communication to connect the company and make it quick, automatic, and easy, in addition to being able to make decisions based on information in real time. For this purpose, process mapping was used, the improvement agent for the application of the study, these mappings were made using software called Bizagi.

Lethality and mortality of COVID-19 in an important industrial center in latin america, region of grande abc, São Paulo, Brazil

Introduction: the new coronavirus (COVID-19) disease has been causing economic and health system impacts worldwide, triggering humanitarian crises in vulnerable regions, marked by high mortality rates of the disease. Brazil has been suffering an increase in the number of cases, characteristic of the formation of a second wave, with great epidemiological differences observed in the most diverse regions of the country. Many studies illustrate the behaviour of COVID-19 in the state of São Paulo, but there are gaps in the scientific literature on the epidemiology of COVID-19 in municipalities of the São Paulo metropolitan region that constitute an important industrial pole in Latin America, such as the region of Grande ABC. Objective: to evaluate mortality and lethality trends of COVID-19 during the period March 2020 to July 2021, in municipalities on region of Grande ABC, metropolitan region of São Paulo, Brazil, divided into two periods (March to November 2020 and December to July 2021). Methods: we conducted an ecological time series study with population data from the Brazilian Ministry of Health. We collected the number of cases and deaths confirmed for COVID-19 in the municipalities that make up the region of Grande ABC (Diadema, Mauá, Rio Grande da Serra, Ribeirão Pires, Santo André, São Bernardo do Campo, and São Caetano do Sul) from March 2020 to July 2021. Prais-Winsten linear regression was performed, and the percentage of daily change was calculated. Differences were considered significant when p<0.05. Results: in region of Grande ABC, in the period analysed, 217,264 cases and 10,004 deaths of COVID-19 were recorded. Although the mortality rate remained stationary during the first wave (March to November 2020) and the second wave (December 2020 to July 2021); lethality transitioned from decreasing during the first wave to increasing during the second wave, with rates varying according to municipality. Conclusion: trend analyses in incidence, mortality, and lethality rates assist in understanding the behaviour of the COVID-19 Pandemic in the region known as Grande ABC. Efforts must be maintained throughout the region to control the Pandemic.

Natural and anthropogenic systems as an ecological basis for the formation of an urban landscape

Natural and anthropogenic systems are the result of the transformation of natural systems included in the city boundaries. They form the basis for the formation of the urban landscape and are the centers of action of natural processes. They actively influence the development of urban infrastructure. The city of Naberezhnye Chelny is a large industrial center, the second largest in terms of population (more than 500,000 inhabitants) in the Republic of Tatarstan, which is a part of the Russian Federation. Using this city as an example, the article examines such natural and anthropogenic systems as: river valleys, gully-ravine systems and forest plantations that make up the ecological structure of an urban landscape. They are classified according to the degree of their change as a result of anthropogenic impact. There are revealed peculiarities of their influence on the development of the city’s environment.

Youth Entrepreneurial Spirit In Family Business

As youths who came into business family inheritance, living in an industrial center, naturally, they are indispensable to continue the family business. In conjunction with that, the sustainability of the industrial center also depends on their willingness to be an entrepreneur or not. The methodological approach taken in this study is a qualitative method. The data for this study was collected using semi-structured in-depth interviews. To begin the process, data is collected through editing and classification, then analyzed and interpreted. The research subject in this study is youth whose own family business at the Sanan Tempe industrial center. The data analysis in this study is using Phenomenological Analysis. The data analysis process is divided into 4 stages starting from data managing, reading, describing, presenting. This research found that the entrepreneurial spirit of the youth in the Sanan Tempe industrial center has been formed since an early age. It came naturally from the experience and opportunity to be part of the family business which shaped their psychology and behavior. Another finding on this research is that a high level of education does not necessarily become a barrier for them to run their family business, choosing a profession as entrepreneurs like what their parents did.r them to run their family business, choosing a profession as entrepreneurs like what their parents did.

Plants Bravely Fighting Metals

Silesia, i.e. the region of Poland which roughly dozen years ago was the most powerful industrial center in the country, is still struggling with residues of heavy metals, which are still present in the soil, water, mine waste dumps, and in the air – despite the fact that the number of polluting plants has been reduced and the use of appropriate filters, measures that have admittedly limited the emission of harmful substances into the environment, has been made obligatory. Metals will not disappear on their own; they are assimilated by plants, which animals feed on, and thus the “uninvited guests” are passed on. Humans are not spared by metals as well. The bare post-mining and post-production landfills around which housing estates are erected “endow” their residents with toxic dust. It turns out, however, that there are plant species which attach themselves to polluted areas and only exist where the concentration of heavy metals is high.

Is bog water chemistry affected by increasing N and S deposition from oil sands development in Northern Alberta, Canada?

Nitrogen and sulfur emissions from oil sands operations in northern Alberta, Canada have resulted in increasing deposition of N and S to the region’s ecosystems. To assess whether a changing N and S deposition regime affects bog porewater chemistry, we sampled bog porewater at sites at different distances from the oil sands industrial center from 2009 to 2012 (10-cm intervals to a depth of 1 m) and from 2009 to 2019 (top of the bog water table only). We hypothesized that: (1) as atmospheric N and S deposition increases with increasing proximity to the oil sands industrial center, surface porewater concentrations of NH4+, NO3−, DON, and SO42− would increase and (2) with increasing N and S deposition, elevated porewater concentrations of NH4+, NO3−, DON, and SO42− would be manifested increasingly deeper into the peat profile. We found weak evidence that oil sands N and S emissions affect bog porewater NH4+-N, NO3−-N, or DON concentrations. We found mixed evidence that increasing SO42− deposition results in increasing porewater SO42− concentrations. Current SO42− deposition, especially at bogs closest to the oil sands industrial center, likely exceeds the ability of the Sphagnum moss layer to retain S through net primary production, such that atmospherically deposited SO42− infiltrates downward into the peat column. Increasing porewater SO42− availability may stimulate dissimilatory sulfate reduction and/or inhibit CH4 production, potentially affecting carbon cycling and gaseous fluxes in these bogs.

Spices and garbage two keys to healthy life

Indonesia is rich in various kinds of spices and its benefits are no doubt, Wadeng Sidayu Gresik Village has the potential for abundant spices but has not been used optimally, especially the COVID-19 pandemic, this healthy drink is one of the solutions to increase the body's immunity. Making healthy drinks from spices is expected to change people's mindset towards a healthy lifestyle supported by a healthy, clean and free environment from waste and pollution, Ngoro Mojokerjo Village is a large industrial center in East Java so that plastic waste is very troubling because from time to time increased. The effort to reduce plastic waste is by using it as a chair at home. The two spice and waste activities in the two villages went through several stages; the first stage was conducting the survey, the second stage was applying for a permit to the local Village Head, the third stage was collecting spices and plastic waste and the fourth stage was training in making drinks, socializing the use of waste and making chairs from plastic waste. The results of the activity were that technology for making and healthy drink products, technology, and chair products from plastic waste, and public awareness not littering increased by 61%.
