Background: Multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C) is a hyperinflammatory condition associated with COVID-19 in children, with features that are similar to Kawasaki disease and toxic shock syndrome. Several reports are emerging from all over the world on this condition that is associated with increased fatality rate. Case Report: In this article, we present one of the first reports of a newborn diagnosed with MIS-C attributed to COVID-19. In addition, we discuss the diagnostic criteria and the possible pathophysiology. Conclusion: Although COVID-19 does not frequently affect newborns, when it does, it may lead to devastating complications, such as MIS-C. As a result, providers should be on the lookout for any symptoms that can indicate a complicated infection. Further studies are still needed to develop a better understanding of the pathophysiology of this disease and establish appropriate therapeutic guidelines.

AbstractThe search for accurate indicators to compare the pandemic impact between countries is still a challenge. The crude death rate, case fatality rate by country and sex, standardized fatality rate, and standardized death rate were calculated using data from Argentina and Colombia countries. We show that even when frequently used indicator as deaths per million are quite similar, 512 deaths per million in Argentina and 522 deaths per million in Colombia, a significant heterogeneity can be found when the mortality data is decomposed by sex or age.

This article sheds light on the up to date details of COVID-19 and why it began in Wuhan. Further, it discusses the available treatment options and their effects on patients with COVID-19, and which drugs patients and clinicians should avoid. It elucidates the common signs and symptoms and the stages of the severity of patients' condition with COVID-19, including its definition, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). It shows possible ways to break up the transmission mechanism by giving a simple table with a clear and concise caption for each point. Moreover, it announces three ways to diagnose COVID-19, including the latest five-minutes test that was approved by the US Food Drug Administration (FDA) on March 28, 2020. It also elaborates on the main features that can be found on the Chest Computed Tomography Scan (CT-scan) and its four stages. This article will show the difference between previous similar virus attacks like Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) and Middle Eastern Respiratory Syndrome (MERS). It talks briefly about children and pregnant women with COVID. It shows the latest toll of death from COVID-19 and the number of new cases for several countries.

Objective: Conventional laparoscopic myomectomy (LM) has inherent limitations due to its rigid structure. The robotic system is a newly developed technology equipped with a flexible EndoWrist that offers good performance in delicate motions. Our objective was to share our clinical experience in the management robotic myomectomy. Materials and Methods: From 2009 to 2018, 42 patients with symptomatic uterine myomas were evaluated who underwent robotic myomectomy. We recorded and analyzed the preoperative characteristics of the patients and the fibroids, the detailed surgical time, and several postoperative outcomes to evaluate the feasibility and efficacy of robotic-assisted LM (RALM) myomectomy. Results: A total of 42 patients were enrolled in this study. The median age of the patients was 37 years and the mean size of the largest fibroid was 20 *17 cm. RALM achieved satisfactory results, including a short postoperative hospital stay 3 days), no cases required laparotomy, and a low complication rate (… case in 42 patients, %). The average estimated blood loss was 100 mL. Conclusion: Our study results demonstrated that RALM is a safe and effective method for handling myomectomy, operative time can be improved in experts hands.
