MAP2XANES: a Jupiter interactive notebook for elemental mapping and XANES speciation

MAP2XANES is an intuitive Jupiter notebook that automatizes the analysis of synchrotron X-ray fluorescence imaging and X-ray absorption spectroscopy for the characterization of complex and heterogeneous samples. The notebook uses basic modules and functions from Numpy, Scipy, Pandas, iPywidgets and Matplotlib libraries for a powerful data reduction process that, in just a few clicks, guides the user through the visualization of elemental maps, space-resolved absorption spectra and their automatized analysis. In particular, by means of linear combination fit of the XANES spectra, the notebook determines the chemical species distribution in the sample under investigation. The direct output of the analysis process is the correlation between the different elemental distributions and the spatial localization of the chemical species detected. An application to mineralogy is thus presented, analyzing the Mn2+, Mn3+ and Mn4+ distribution in a mineral sample of hausmannite (Mn2+Mn2 3+O4), courtesy of the Museum of Natural Science of Barcelona.

Memahami Dinamika Bekerja dalam Ketidakpastian: Tinjauan Fenomenologis Pengalaman Bekerja Pengemudi Ojek Online

Employees of high technology company often facing rapid and unpredictable changes. This qualitative research aims to explore further how workers with high uncertainty working environment develop their strategies to be survived in this kind of environment. Online ojek driver works in high uncertainty environment where they have no clear employment status. The technology company who employs them only see them as a business partner which their relationship with the company could be terminated anytime. This qualitative research is conducted with phenomenological approach. Six ojek online driver respondents were chosen with minimum criteria: has been working in this field minimum 1 year, play a role as the main income earner in the family, and has the main job as online motor driver. Through a qualitative method with phenomenological approach, data analyzed by data reduction process resulted in five main themes: environmental uncertainty, task identity, values, strategy, and hope and themes of strategy to overcome those work situations and nature. Then the researcher developed an essential description or comprehensive construction about the meaning and the essence of the subjects’ experiences.

Pembinaan Literasi di Pondok Pesantren Sebagai Bekal Santri Hidup Bermasyarakat

(Objectives) Literacy is a key element in the education system in the boarding school, but received many get negative responses in the community that the education of the trend is not in accordance with the development of the era. This research aims to explain the culture of literacy in Mbah Dul boarding school as a form of readiness of students to face life in the community later. (Method) The method used in this study is qualitative descriptive. Data is obtained through interviews, observations and documentation. Data analysis is done through data reduction process, data presentation, and draw conclusion. The validity of the data by triangulation. (Findings) The results showed that the literacy culture in Mbah Dul boarding school started from the teaching of the “kitab kuning” consisting of Badongan and Sorogan, Syawir, Muhafadzoh, Muto'laah, and Khitobah very useful for students as a provision of community life, become religious figures, Da'i, and become a pioneer of change in society. Tomorrow, the need for literacy seminars, writing training and the assignment of students to add literacy skills, strengthening media literacy

PEMILIHAN BAHASA PADA MASYARAKAT ETNIK MADURA DI DESA PATEMON, KECAMATAN PAKUSARI, KABUPATEN JEMBER

This research is motivated by the pluralism of Madurese ethnic society in Patemon village, subdistric of Pakusari, Jember. This social condition makes a multilingual society. In a certain situation, the society have to choose the language that will be used. This research has some purposes to know the form of language choice and the underly in factors. This research uses qualitative method. The resercher collected the data through observation, questionnaire, and interview. This tecnique of analilysis is done through tree stages: data reduction process, data display, and conclusion. The results of this research include the language choice in the family, neighboardhood, religion, govermental, and transaction domain. The language choice result in the family domain most of the informants use Madurese language in enjâ’-iya level. In household domain the languge choice of the informants are mostly use enjâ’-iya and engghi-enten level of speech. The religious domain most of the informants use engghi-enten level of speech. In the govermental domain the language choice are mostly Indonesian language. In the transacsion domain, the language choice are mostly use enjâ’-iya level of speech. Factors that determine language choice are psychological factors, habits, social status, education, kind of social relations, age, ethnic similarities or differences, and politeness in language.

PEPSI deep spectra

Context. High-resolution échelle spectra confine many essential stellar parameters once the data reach a quality appropriate to constrain the various physical processes that form these spectra. Aim. We provide a homogeneous library of high-resolution, high-S/N spectra for 48 bright AFGKM stars, some of them approaching the quality of solar-flux spectra. Our sample includes the northern Gaia benchmark stars, some solar analogs, and some other bright Morgan-Keenan (M-K) spectral standards. Methods. Well-exposed deep spectra were created by average-combining individual exposures. The data-reduction process relies on adaptive selection of parameters by using statistical inference and robust estimators. We employed spectrum synthesis techniques and statistics tools in order to characterize the spectra and give a first quick look at some of the science cases possible. Results. With an average spectral resolution of R ≈ 220 000 (1.36 km s−1), a continuous wavelength coverage from 383 nm to 912 nm, and S/N of between 70:1 for the faintest star in the extreme blue and 6000:1 for the brightest star in the red, these spectra are now made public for further data mining and analysis. Preliminary results include new stellar parameters for 70 Vir and α Tau, the detection of the rare-earth element dysprosium and the heavy elements uranium, thorium and neodymium in several RGB stars, and the use of the 12C to 13C isotope ratio for age-related determinations. We also found Arcturus to exhibit few-percent Ca II H&K and Hα residual profile changes with respect to the KPNO atlas taken in 1999.

Analysis of The Implementation Quantum Teaching Method in Teaching English at Five Grade of SDN Bakalrejo 2 in The Academic Year 2016/2017

This research was aimed to analisys implementation of quantum teaching method in teaching English at five grade SDN Bakalrejo 2 academic year 2016/2017 and the problems found in the implementation of quantum teaching method in teaching english at five grade SDN Bakalrejo 2 academic year 2016/2017. This research method is qualitative research. The type of research is descriptive approach. In this study, the types and sources of data used are interview result, field observation results, and data about informants. Data collection methods used in this study include: interview and observation. is through data reduction process, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The Result research are in the application of Quantum Teaching method in SDN Bakalrejo 2. There are several impacts of the application of Quantum Teaching Method, namely, the spirit and pleasure of students in learning. The problem of implementation Quantum Teaching method providing students with an understanding of the purpose of the lesson and the material being taught, as the ability of each student to understand is different. Furthermore, it provides a stimulation or example of the material to be conveyed. Automatic Debye–Scherrer elliptical ring extractionviaa computer vision approach

The accurate calibration of powder diffraction data acquired from area detectors using calibration standards is a crucial step in the data reduction process to attain high-quality one-dimensional patterns. A novel algorithm has been developed for extracting Debye–Scherrer rings automatically using an approach based on computer vision and pattern recognition techniques. The presented technique requires no human intervention and, unlike previous approaches, makes no restrictive assumptions on the diffraction setup and/or rings. It can detect complete rings as well as portions of them, and works on several types of diffraction images with various degrees of ring graininess, textured diffraction patterns and detector tilt with respect to the incoming beam.

Use of Data Reduction Process to Bankruptcy Prediction

Predicting corporate bankruptcy has been an important challenging problem in research topic in accounting and finance. In bankruptcy prediction, researchers often confront a range of observations and variables which are often vast amount of financial ratios. By reducing variables and select relevant data from a given dataset, data reduction process can optimize bankruptcy prediction. This study addresses four well-known data reduction methods including t-test, correlation analysis, principal component analysis (PCA) and factor analysis (FA) and evaluated them in bankruptcy prediction in the Tehran Stock Exchange (TSE). To this end, considering 35 financial ratios, the results of data reduction methods were separately used to train Support Vector Machine (SVM) as the powerful prediction model. Regarding the empirical results, among the aforementioned methods, the t-test lead to the most prediction rate with 97.1% of predictability and PCA by 95.1% provides the next position.

The Educational Value of Hinduism on the Gumi Suda Ceremony at the Birth of the Twin Babies with Different Genders (Case Study at Pakraman Village of Ketewel, Sukawati District, Gianyar Regency)

<h3>This study aimed to identify the educational values of Hinduism on the Gumi Suda ceremony at the Birth of the twin babies with different genders in Pakraman Village of Ketewel, Sukawati District, Gianyar Regency. The data were collected by using interviews technique and literatures review. Furthermore, the data were analyzed through data reduction process or chosen according to the purpose of the research. The data analysis process was done continuously during the research from the beginning until the end of the research through the systematic tracking and arranging process of the transcripts of interviews, field notes and other materials. The Findings indicated that some of the educational values of Hinduism on the Gumi Suda ceremony at the birth of the twin babies with different genders in Pakraman Village of Ketewel, Sukawati District, Gianyar Regency are tattwa, ethics, ceremonial, health education and social educational values.</h3>
