ABSTRACT: THE INFLUENCE BETWEEN GADGET USE AND EYE HEALTH ON STUDENTS OF AL AZHAR 1 BANDAR LAMPUNG ELEMENTARY SCHOOL  Introduction: improper gadget use such as excessive frequency of use, incorrect position and bad lighting may decrease visual acuity that will impact career, social economy, education and intelligence. As addition the increase of myopia on children may cause various types of complications like permanent visual impairment (blindness), cataract and glaucoma. The other myopia complications are chorioretinal degeneration (Chorioretinal athropy), ablasio retina, and ocular irritation on children with high myopia. Based on a pre-survey conducted by the researcher on 30th January 2018, Al Azhar 1 Elementary School had the biggest number of student wearing eyeglasses amounting to 187 students compared with 143 students at Al Azhar 2 Elementary School and 57 students at Way Halim 1 Elementary School. Eight out of 30 students (26.7%) at Al Azhar 1 Elementary School wear glasses. The interview found that 21 of them (70%) use gadget. Objective: this study was to identify the effect of gadget use towards eye health on students of Al Azhar 1 Bandar Lampung Elementary School in 2019. Method: This research is quantitative. The design was analytical survey that indicated this research tried to scrutinize how and why a certain health phenomena happened. The approach of this research was retrospective. The population of this research is the whole four to five grade students at Al Azhar 1 Bandar Lampung Elementary School in 2019 amounting to 360 students. The minimum samples were 190 respondents. The sampling technique was simple random sampling. Result: based on the statistical analysis, p value was 0.003 or p value < 0.05 Conclusion: which can be meant there was an effect of gadget use twards eye health on students of Al Azhar 1 Bandar Lampung Elementary School in 2019. The school stakeholders are suggested to give additional time to educate their students on taking care of eye health.  Keywords     : gadget use, eye health      INTISARI: PENGARUH PENGGUNAAN GADGET TERHADAP KESEHATAN MATA ANAK DI SEKOLAH DASAR AL AZHAR I BANDAR LAMPUNG Pendahuluan : Penggunaan gadget yang salah seperti frekuensi penggunaan gadget yang berlebihan, posisi yang tidak benar dan intensitas pencahayaan yang tidak baik, akan berdampak terhadap penurunan tajam penglihatan, yang akan berefek pada karir, sosial ekonomi, pendidikan bahkan juga tingkat kecerdasan. Selain itu,  semakin bertambahnya miopi pada anak juga akan meningkatkan berbagai risiko komplikasi, seperti gangguan permanen visual (kebutaan), katarak dan glaucoma. Komplikasi lainnya yang dapat ditimbulkan oleh miopi yaitu Chorioretinal Degeneration (Chorioretinal athropy), Ablasio retina, serta gangguan okuler pada anak dengan miopi tinggi. Dari hasil survei yang peneliti lakukan pada tanggal 30 Januari 2018, diketahui bahwa penggunaan kacamata pada anak sekolah dasar tertinggi adalah di SD Al Azhar 1 (187 siswa) jika dibandingkan dengan SD Al Azhar 2 (143 siswa) atau SD Negeri 1 Way Halim (57 siswa). Hasil presurvey yang dilakukan terhadap 30 orang anak di SD Al Azhar 1 diketahui bahwa sebanyak 8 orang (26,7%) menggunakan kacamata. Dan berdasarkan wawancara diketahui bahwa sebanyak 21 orang anak (70%) menggunakan gadget.Tujuan : Diketahui pengaruh penggunaan gadget terhadap kesehatan mata anak di Sekolah Dasar Al Azhar I Bandar Lampung Tahun 2019.Metode : Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif. Rancangan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan survey analitik yang artinya penelitian yang menggali bagaimana dan mengapa fenomena kesehatan itu terjadi, dengan menggunakan pendekatan retrospective. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas 4-5 Sekolah Dasar Al Azhar I Bandar Lampung Tahun 2019 yang berjumlah 360 siswa, Sehingga sampel minimum yang didapatkan berjumlah 190 responden. Dalam penelitian ini teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah simple random sampling.Hasil : Berdasarkan hasil uji statistik, didapatkan p-value 0,003 atau p-value < 0,05.Kesimpulan: terdapat pengaruh penggunaan gadget terhadap kesehatan mata anak sekolah di Sekolah Dasar Al Azhar I Bandar Lampung Tahun 2019. Diharapkan kepada pihak sekolah agar dapat memberikan pendidikan kepada anak tentang kesehatan mata melalui jam tambahan belajar khusus untuk membahas tentang kesehatan mata. Kata Kunci    : Penggunaan Gadget, Kesehatan Mata

‘Perifoveal Exudative Vascular Anomalous Complex’ (PEVAC) is a perifoveal, unilateral, isolated, perifoveal aneurysm, in otherwise healthy patients. Here, we report a case of PEVAC in a highly myopic eye of a 86-year-old woman affected by a visual decline in the right eye (best-corrected visual acuity of 20/100). She had no other relevant past conditions and/or ocular impairment. Fundus examination in the right eye showed myopic chorioretinal degeneration with a concomitant PEVAC. Structural optical coherence tomography (OCT) showed a round lesion with a hyperreflective wall associated with intraretinal cystic spaces. OCT-angiography nicely disclosed an isolated large aneurysmal retinal dilation featuring the PEVAC with detectable flow in superficial capillary plexus, deep capillary plexus, and avascular slab. This case highlights the importance of discerning between different vascular disorders of the macula, in order to be able to offer the right treatment and/or follow-up to the patient.

Purpose. To determine the prevalence of peripheral retinopathy and its associated risk factors among a sample of Guangzhou office computer workers. Methods. A cross-sectional study of Guangzhou Chinese computer workstations and operators in different departments and units of the Guangzhou Power Supply Bureau, China, in 2016. Peripheral retinopathy was recorded and analyzed using a scanning laser ophthalmoscope (SLO; Optos, Daytona, United Kingdom) and slit-lamp microscopy combined with a three-mirror contact lens. Results. The 1934 eyes of 967 subjects (513 females and 454 males) were included in this study. In total, 79.1% of the eyes were myopic in workers aged 20–29 years, 72.9% in workers aged 30–39 years, 62.2% in workers aged 40–49 years, and 43.4% in workers aged 50–59 years (p<0.001). Most eyes had optic nerve crescents (81.3%). Various peripheral degenerations were found: 7 eyes (0.4%) had microcystoid degeneration, 40 (2.1%) had peripheral pigmentary degeneration, 87 (4.5%) had lattice degeneration, and 4 (0.2%) had snail-track degeneration. Nineteen (1.0%) eyes had paving-stone degeneration, 11 (0.6%) eyes had a retinal hole or tear, and 16 (0.8%) eyes had chorioretinal degeneration. Multivariate regression confirmed that greater axial length (OR: 1.18 (1.03, 1.35), p=0.012) and more serious spherical equivalent (OR: 0.82 (0.77, 0.88), p<0.001) were significant risk factors for peripheral retinal changes. Conclusion. Peripheral retinal degenerative changes were found in a larger proportion of younger computer workers than older ones. Myopia is occurring in younger and younger people, accompanied by peripheral retinal degeneration.

The method of spontaneous and induced luminol -dependent chemiluminescence in homogenates of rat retinas OXYS registered increase in the generation of free radicals against decrease in total antioxidant  activity.  With  the  ultra-microscopic  and  quantitative  analysis  revealed  degenerative retinal neurons rats OXYS: the percentage increase in neurosensory cells with pyknosis of nuclei, hyperchromatic piknomorfnyh associative neurons and ganglion n eurons that have been modified on a light and dark type. Thiophane, limiting free radical reactions in the retina and protects retinal neurons from damage.
