Efficient & Reliable Algorithm for Route Selection in A Wireless Sensor Networks

The routing schemes in Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) systems are performed among the groups of different clusters. The node works for data aggregation from the source nodes and they also perform data dissemination and network management and events sensing and information collecting in the neighbourhood. Many clustering topologies have been proposed in recent years to localize the route within the cluster itself. In this work, it has been reviewed and compared these topologies to find out the network mechanism which is easier to manage and scalable for getting high quality response with respect to dynamics of the environment.

Modular network mechanism of CCN1-associated resistance to HSV-1-derived oncolytic immunovirotherapies for glioblastomas

Glioblastomas (GBMs) are the most common and lethal primary brain malignancy in adults. Oncolytic virus (OV) immunotherapies selectively kill GBM cells in a manner that elicits antitumor immunity. Cellular communication network factor 1 (CCN1), a protein found in most GBM microenvironments, expression predicts resistance to OVs, particularly herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1). This study aims to understand how extracellular CCN1 alters the GBM intracellular state to confer OV resistance. Protein–protein interaction network information flow analyses of LN229 human GBM transcriptomes identified 39 novel nodes and 12 binary edges dominating flow in CCN1high cells versus controls. Virus response programs, notably against HSV-1, and cytokine-mediated signaling pathways are highly enriched. Our results suggest that CCN1high states exploit IDH1 and TP53, and increase dependency on RPL6, HUWE1, and COPS5. To validate, we reproduce our findings in 65 other GBM cell line (CCLE) and 174 clinical GBM patient sample (TCGA) datasets. We conclude through our generalized network modeling and system level analysis that CCN1 signals via several innate immune pathways in GBM to inhibit HSV-1 OVs before transduction. Interventions disrupting this network may overcome immunovirotherapy resistance.

Attentional modulation of intrinsic timescales in visual cortex and spatial networks

Neural activity fluctuates endogenously on timescales varying across the neocortex. The variation in these intrinsic timescales relates to the functional specialization of cortical areas and their involvement in the temporal integration of information. Yet, it is unknown whether the timescales can adjust rapidly and selectively to the demands of a cognitive task. We measured intrinsic timescales of local spiking activity within columns of area V4 while monkeys performed spatial attention tasks. The ongoing spiking activity unfolded across at least two distinct timescales---fast and slow---and the slow timescale increased when monkeys attended to the receptive fields location. A recurrent network model shows that multiple timescales in local dynamics arise from spatial connectivity mimicking vertical and horizontal interactions in visual cortex and that slow timescales increase with the efficacy of recurrent interactions. Our results reveal that targeted neural populations integrate information over variable timescales following the demands of a cognitive task and propose an underlying network mechanism.

Network dynamics on the Chinese air transportation multilayer network

Air transportation networks play important roles in human mobility. In this paper, from the perspective of multilayer network mechanism, the dynamics of the Chinese air transportation network are extensively investigated. A multilayer-based passengers re-scheduling model is introduced, and a multilayer cooperation (MC) approach is proposed to improve the efficiency of network traffic under random failures. We use two metrics: the success rate and the extra transfer number, to evaluate the efficiency of re-scheduling. It is found that a higher success rate of passengers re-scheduling can be obtained by MC, and MC is stronger for resisting the instability of the capacity of links. Furthermore, the explosion of the number of extra transfer can be well restrained by MC. Our work will highlight a better understanding of the dynamics and robustness of the Chinese air transportation network.

Interneuron activity-structural plasticity association is driven by context-dependent sensory experience

Neuronal dendritic spine dynamics provide a plasticity mechanism for altering brain circuit connectivity to integrate new information for learning and memory. Previous in vivo studies in the olfactory bulb (OB) showed that regional increases in activity caused localized spine stability, at a population level, yet how activity affects spine dynamics at an individual neuron level remains unknown. In this study, we tracked in vivo the correlation between an individual neuron’s activity and its dendritic spine dynamics of OB granule cell (GC) interneurons. Odor experience caused a consistent correlation between individual GC activity and spine stability. Dissecting the components of the OB circuit showed that increased principal cell (MC) activity was sufficient to drive this correlation, whereas cell-autonomously driven GC activity had no effect. A mathematical model was able to replicate the GC activity-spine stability correlation and showed MC output having improved odor discriminability while retaining odor memory. These results reveal that GC spine plasticity provides a sufficient network mechanism to decorrelate odors and maintain a memory trace.
