Objectives: This study is about the realization of critical discourse analysis on TV talkshows’ headlines about corona delta variant. Methods: The data was gathered by collecting 31 headline news stories about Corona from three TV channels: Metro TV, TV One, and Kompas TV. Result:  The result showed that at the level of micro, the linguistic features used by the three TV channels were dominated by expressing declarative ideas. On the level of macro, the three TV channels used facts as information and statements as information. On the level of meso, it was discovered that the three TV channels used their roles as public behavior influencers, information providers, policy evaluators, and socialization agencies. The conclusion: the ideology of the TV channel influences the way of delivering news CDA, coronavirus delta variant news, TV talk shows.

Abstract Palmprint is an important key player in biometric family and also informs some extra basic personality details of an individual. In this paper, we utilize these extra information and designed an automated mobile vision (MV) system to extract principal lines from human palm and analyze them for behavioral significances. Hence, the main concern of this paper is to come up with a simple yet powerful low-level MV solution to extract the complex challenging features from palmprint. In the proposed system, the computational tasks are offloaded to a dedicated palmistry server and efficiently minimizes the energy consumption of mobile device after performing some preliminary computational low-level tasks. The implementation is divided into four major phases: (i) hand-image acquisition and pre-processing, (ii) region-of-interest extraction from the palm images, (iii) post-processing to extract principal lines and (iv) features computation for behavior analysis. The basic palmistry uses line lengths, angles, curves and branches to identify a person’s behavior. The exhaustive experiments show that the proposed system achieves an average accuracy of 96%, 92% and 84% for heart, life and head line detection and personality prediction, respectively. Finally, mapping the extracted results with the original palmprint is augmented back to the use for better visualization.

The purpose of this research is to determine the use of Indonesian standard in headline news in newspaper discourse relate to the diction/vocabulary; writing; sentence structure; and use of vernacular languages, and foreign terms. This research focuses on the use of Indonesian standard in the headline newspaper of Harian Fajar newspaper. This research is a qualitative method of content analysis. The source data are from daily Harian Fajar Tajuk Newspaper.  The result showed that the diction or vocabulary in the discourse of headline news used language hyperbole, oxymoron, and personification. The writing word such as acronyms, technical terms. The majority of the style of language used by the writer is hyperbole. The writer used many acronyms.  The technical terms are dominated by English vocabulary. The writing is not appropriate, namely:  the writing of the word, the error in the writing of letters, capital letters, the compound word, and preposition di. Particle that often arise in the writing errors is pun. These of punctuation is not appropriate, namely the use of comma, in the details of words and the use of hyphen in the decoding in the words. The sentence structure in the form of the head line news of Harian Fajar is to be a symbol (+), proverbs, advice, and imperative sentence. The ambiguous sentence, conjunction occur due to improving is not appropriate, ie: untuk kemudian, padahal agar, mesti,  sehingga, jadi, karena, disebabkan oleh, dan bahwa.  Many sentences  found in the data are ineffective. One of the reasons is became of a combination of the two ideas in a sentence.  There is a tendency of the writer to write down his words affix me- writer the based words only and many sentences do not have clear subject.

Head line dan komentar memiliki daya tarik bagi pembaca media massa online. Headline yang menarik serta komentar para netizen dapat mempengaruhi pembaca untuk tertarik membaca berita-berita pada media massa online. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan pendekatan eksplanatif dengan menggunakan metode survey untuk memperoleh data. Teknik analasis data pada penelitian ini menggunakan analisis regresi linier berganda. Dengan jumlah populasi yang tidak diketahui jumlahnya, sehingga sampel yang diperoleh berdasarkan perhitungan dengan tingkat kesalahan 1% menjadi 96 orang dengan rumus Lemeshow. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan teori uses and gratification karena teori ini menjelaskan bahwa pengguna media memiliki kebutuhan tertentu yang mendorong terjadinya penggunaan media (uses) untuk memperoleh kepuasan (gratification). Juga menggunakan teori S-O-R yang menjelaskan stimulus atau pesan yang disampaikan kepada komunikan mungkin diterima atau mungkin ditolak. Komunikasi akan berlangsung jika ada perhatian dari komunikan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa antara variabel headline dan komentar netizen, keduanya memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap minat membaca berita di media online detik.com. Ketertarikan terhadap headline dan komentar pada detik.com ternyata menjadi daya tarik yang besar bagi pembaca untuk membaca dan melihat lebih dalam sebuah berita yang disajikan detik.com

This study is a qualitative research with description design. The research data was sarcasm in the head line of Kompas and Fajar newspaper which determined by purposive sampling. Data collection was conducted during January-February 2011. The results showed that sarcasm of headlines in national newspapers going for violating the principles of courtesy, the maxims of wisdom, generosity, praise, humility, agreements, and sympathy. Diction sarcasm was categorized as harmful, inappropriate, no good, rough, and hard. Sarcasm that breaking notion that breaking faces, positive face and negative face
