Destruction Feature Extraction of Prefabricated Residential Building Components Based on BIM

In order to improve the damage feature extraction effect of prefabricated residential building components and improve the structural stability of prefabricated residential components, this paper applies BIM technology to the structural feature analysis of prefabricated residential components. Moreover, this paper adopts the simple superposition method and combines the first strength theory of material mechanics to derive the formula for calculating the cracking torque of prefabricated residential building components under compound torsion. In addition, based on the variable-angle space truss model, this paper uses a simple superposition method to derive the calculation formula for the ultimate torque of composite torsion of fabricated residential building components and applies it to the BIM fabricated residential model. Finally, this paper constructs an intelligent BIM prefabricated residential building construction damage characteristic monitoring system. Through experimental research, it can be seen that the intelligent BIM prefabricated residential building construction damage feature monitoring system proposed in this paper can monitor the damage characteristics of prefabricated residential building construction and can predict the evolution of subsequent building features.

Study on the Stability Principle of Mechanical Structure of Roadway with Composite Roof

With the typical composite roof roadway and roof fall accidents in the Guizhou Province of China as the research background, the expression of damage parameters of composite roof was deduced according to Weibull statistical distribution, generalized Hooke’s law and Mises yield criterion, and the influence of shape and scale parameters of Weibull on damage characteristic was discussed. Based on the infinite slab theory, the expressions of deflection and layer separation of each layer of the composite roof were obtained, the critical load expression of each delamination was determined, and the influence of roadway width, overlying strata load, elastic modulus, shape parameters and scale parameters on the stability of composite roof was explored. The research shows that the bolt support can effectively reduce the layer separation between the composite roofs and enhance the stability of the composite roof. On this basis, it is proposed that for the surrounding rock control problem of roadways with composite roof, the active support technology with bolts as the core should be adopted.

ACOUSTIC EMISSION AND DAMAGE CHARACTERISTICS OF ANTHRACITE UNDER DIFFERENT CONDITIONS

Acoustic emission (AE) can be used to observe the process of coal fracture propagation. Based on a press and acoustic-emission platform, the damage and acoustic-emission characteristics of anthracite with different loading rates, water amounts and sizes were studied. The results show that there is less acoustic emission in the initial compression stage of coal; acoustic emission is more active in the transition from elastic deformation to plastic deformation, which is manifested in the following aspects: the faster the loading rate, the higher is the number of acoustic-emission events; the peak count of acoustic emissions of a saturated-coal sample is significantly lower than that of a natural-coal sample. Coal samples and large coal samples emit even more sounds. Based on the normalization of acoustic-emission counts, the relationship between damage variables and stress-strain is studied, and it is characterized by an initial slow increase, followed by a rapid increase; however, different factors have a great influence on the damage-characteristic curve. The research results have a certain guiding significance for the coal and rock disaster prediction.

Use of Resampling Method to Construct Variance Index and Repeatability Limit of Damage Characteristic Curve

The simplified viscoelastic continuum damage model has been widely accepted as a tool to predict fatigue performance of asphalt concrete. One key component in the model is the damage characteristic curve that results from a cyclic fatigue test. This curve characterizes the relationship between material integrity (stiffness) and the level of damage in the material. As with any experimental measurement, it is important to know and quantify the variability of the damage curve, but traditional statistical methods are ill-suited for experiments that yield functional data as opposed to univariate data. In this study, a variance index of the damage characteristic curve is first proposed and compared with the expert judgment of the variance of a set of nine different asphalt mixtures. Then, an example analysis for establishing the repeatability limit of a specific mixture as the application of the variance index is presented using the resampling method and hypothesis test. The major findings are as follows: 1) the proposed variance index can match the expert judgment of variability; 2) the shape of the damage characteristic curve can affect the performance of the variance index; 3) the resampling method and hypothesis test can be applied to flag inconsistent data in multi-user or multi-laboratory results; and 4) the resampling method can also be used to construct the repeatability limit of the variance index.

Hematological indicators for lung damage caused by COVID-19 infection

During the pandemic of a new coronavirus infection one of the most serious complications is pneumonia. When entering a specialized pulmonology Department, the presence of pneumonia is confirmed by computed tomography (CT), the etiology is confirmed by the detection of SARS-CoV-2 RNA by PCR, the article analyzes the indicators of blood analysis when patients are admitted to the hospital. All admitted patients were divided into 2 groups. Group 1 of the study - with a new coronavirus infection Covid-19, confirmed by the detection of PCR-RNA SARS-CoV-2 (n=27). Group 2 consisted of 65 patients (70.7%) with lung tissue damage characteristic of Covid-19 according to CT, who had a negative analysis of PCR-RNA SARS-CoV-2. Statistically significant deviations were shown in a decrease in the percentage and absolute content of lymphocytes, monocytes and platelets, and an increase in neutrophils. The comparative analysis in the groups with positive and negative PCR analysis for the detection of SARS-CoV-2 RNA showed no statistically significant differences. It can be assumed that with the similarity of clinical manifestations and CT-data, a negative result of PCR-RNA SARS-CoV-2 can be diagnosed as «lung damage caused by COVID-19 infection».

Detection of fatigue crack propagation through damage characteristic FWHM using FBG sensors

Purpose Crack damage detection for aluminum alloy materials using fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) sensor is a kind of structure health monitoring. In this paper, the damage index of full width at half maximum (FWHM) was extracted from the distorted reflection spectra caused by the crack-tip inhomogeneous strain field, so as to explain the crack propagation behaviors. Design/methodology/approach The FWHM variations were also investigated through combining the theoretical calculations with simulation and experimental analyses. The transfer matrix algorithm was developed to explore the mechanism by which FWHM changed with the linear and quadratic strain. Moreover, the crack-tip inhomogeneous strain field on the specimen surface was computed according to the digital image correlation measurement during the experiments. Findings The experimental results demonstrated that the saltation points in FWHM curve accorded with the moments of crack propagation to FBG sensors. Originality/value The interpretation of reflected spectrum deformation mechanism with crack propagation was analyzed based on both simulations and experiments, and then the performance of potential damage features – FWHM were proposed and evaluated. According to the correlation between the damage characteristic and the crack-tip location, the crack-tip of the specimen could be measured rapidly and accurately with this technique.

Tensile behaviour and damage characteristic of recycled aluminium alloys AA6061 undergoing finite strain deformation

The effects of temperature and strain rate of hot-forged recycled aluminium alloys AA6061 are examined via uniaxial tensile test implementations in this paper. The tests are conducted at elevated temperatures of 100 °C, 200 °C and 300 °C, at two different strain rates of 10−4 s−1 and 10−3 s−1. The tensile behaviour and damage characteristic are analysed in terms of stress-strain curves and microstructural analysis, respectively. The microstructure and fracture surface of such materials are observed using Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) and Optical Microscope (OM). The flow stress of recycled AA6061 increases with increasing strain rate and decreases with increasing temperature. ImageJ software is used to quantify void characteristics. It is observed that the quantity and size of the micro-voids are strain-rate sensitive. This is due to the growth and coalescence of the micro-voids. The OM analysis shows the gap between the grain boundaries becomes wider with the increasing temperature that affects the strength of the material. The outcome of this work gives valuable information before the appropriate applications, especially in automotive and aerospace fields, can be established. It can be agreed that there is still a need for improved recycling methods to fulfil the needs in the required applications, as shown by its primary resources. It is a massive challenge and an obvious drawback in such materials due to the degradation of material’s properties related to damage.

Algorithm for determination of the damage characteristic (C-S) curve of asphalt mixtures

This paper presents the algorithm for calculating the damage characteristic curve obtained in direct tension tests taking into account sinusoidal controlled strain loading. The Viscoelastic Continuum Damage formulation is presented in a summarized form for the algorithm, in which the pseudo strain, at the instants associated to the observed stress, is calculated using the expression of the linear viscoelasticity stress under controlled strain testing. This facilitates subsequent treatment of the data to obtain the vs. curve. The proposed algorithm is simple to understand and easy to implement computationally. The algorithm was validated with the results of fatigue test simulations in three mixtures, which have indicated its potential.
