In this work we calculate the Ramsey resonances of coherent population trapping effect in cold atomic ensembles. The main goal is to investigate the light shift of the resonance on the different parameters in optically dense medium, because such medium can to distort and absorb the interrogating laser pulses.

We calculate the coherent population trapping (CPT) resonance in slow beam of rubidium 87 atoms caused by of their interaction with bichromatic electromagnetic field in two separated spatial domains. In the case of monovelocity beam we study the properties of the CPT resonance depending on type of working transitions, velocity of the atomic beam, intensity and polarization of electromagnetic fields, and space separation in Ramsey scheme.

We perform a theoretical analysis of the Ramsey scheme with pulses of different duration and with a phase step in the second pulse with account for the finite width of laser line. We define optimum features of pulses that correspond to maximum suppression of the field shift and maximum amplitude of resonance for both schemes. Ramsey scheme with a phase step in the second pulse provides effective suppression of the field shift and it is less sensitive to the Rabi frequency fluctuations in comparison with Ramsey scheme with pulses of different duration. First experiments on ytterbium single-ion optical clock (Germany, PTB) confirm theoretical predictions
