This paper focuses on researching the change in the volt-farad characteristic of the Al/SiO2/n-Si structure irradiated by helium ions with the energy of 5 MeV in different frequencies of 1 kHz; 10 kHz; 100 kHz and 1 MHz. The voltage dependence of the capacitance and the frequency dependence of the dissolution angle are measured by LCR Agilent E4980A and Agilent 4285A meter. The complex electrical module’s hodograph of irradiated structure shows that there is a formation of quasi-continuous radiation-disturbed layer at fluence 1012 cm-2 with U < -7 V and at 1013 cm-2 with U < -20 V, which enhances the speed of charged particles, thereby increasing the reverse current in the irradiated structure.

This manuscript was built on studying the ignition, thermal, mechanical and electrical conductivity properties of the polypropylene by blending with different weight percentages of zinc borate (ZB) and potassium montmorillonite (MM). The tensile strength (TS) and elongation percentage ( E%) of the specimen were investigated. The thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential thermal analysis (differential scanning calorimetry) were examined. LCR Meter instrument (Agilent E4980A, USA) was used to measure the electrical characteristics of the specimens. The heat capacity of the test specimens was determined according to EN ISO 1716:2004 (oxygen bomb calorimeter). By comparing the heat capacity results of the unblended with composite specimens, the difference in values is noticed. The flammability behaviours of the specimen were investigated by Underwriters Laboratories Horizontal Burning (UL-94HB) and limiting oxygen index (LOI) tests. The burning rate decreased by increasing the time of ignition with slightly LOI increased. These prove the main role of the ZB and MM at increasing the mechanical properties and electrical resistivity. The ash residue increased as the percentage of MM increased, while the heat capacity deceased.

The article discusses an example of the automation of the process of measuring the dielectric constant of materials by the capacitor method using the LabVIEW graphical programming environment and the Agilent E4980A precision LCR meter. A description of the hardwaresoftware complex is presented, as well as the measurement results.

Subscript textIn the present research n-doped BaTiO3 compositions, with lanthanum contents x=0, 0.1, 0.3 and 0.5mol% were prepared by the free sintering method, at temperature T=1350°C for 2 h. The EDS investigations showed that samples exhibited conservation of stoichiometry according to the chemical composition formula. Morphology of the ceramic material was observed by scanning electron microscopy, whereas the crystalline structure was studied by X-ray diffraction method. Influence of La3+ doping on dielectric properties of Ba1-xLaxTi1-x/4O3 ceramics was studied in temperature range T=20-260°C, and frequency f=100Hz-1000Hz by the Precision LCR meter Agilent E4980A. The results show a decrease of Tm with lanthanum addition. The degree of diffuseness of phase transition is more pronounced for high La content, implying the existence of a composition-induced phase transition of the ceramics. Ceramics showed maximally enhanced dielectric permittivity around phase transitions, which are the phase transitions of the pure BaTiO3.

Aiming at the complicated situation of artificial testing function materials, a set of automatic test system based on Agilent E4980A is developed. In the control software edited by Visual Basic 6.0, the test conditions (temperature, frequency, voltage, etc.) are pre-set, and the system automatically controls the temperature of the temperature control box through PID algorithm, achieving the real-time test voltage and frequency of Agilent E4980A. The card shows the readings on the test results of a plurality of functional materials at various stages of temperature conditions , automatically completing the storage and analysis of electrical parameters. The system is able to achieve the automatic control of the temperature control box and Agilent E4980A, presenting the comparative benefits including the function of this system being more comprehensive, more convenience in operation, and higher degree of automation advantages . It can be a good method and reference resource available for the development of such test system.
