Feasible QoS Routing for Ubiquitous Network

This article describes the design and development of an efficient event-based link-state QoS routing protocol using an Event Condition Action (ECA) scheme by incorporating novel agent technology. The event-based link-state QoS routing protocol includes two types of agents like Optimized Link State Routing (OLSR) protocol acts as a static agent and Multi-Point Relays (MPR) acts as a mobile agent. The OLSR agent creates and dispatches MPR agents across the network. MPR agents migrate and visit every mobile node in the network hosted by an OLSR agent to accumulate and supply mobile node and network status information to the OLSR agent. The OLSR agent collates information about neighboring nodes and network status information from MPR agents and provides it to the ECA scheme to establish a QoS route to transmit reliable data from the originator to the intended target node. Based on the information provided by the OLSR agent, the ECA scheme selects an efficient QoS route based on metrics such as minimal bandwidth, less error rate, better throughput, minimal latency, and low mobility rate required for the applications (for instance, audio, video, image, etc.) during transmission. The proposed scheme is tested by considering different types of OLSR routing events. Eventually, we evaluated the performance and compared ECA-QoS-OLSR with conventional OLSR routing protocols and the simulation results reveal the effectiveness of the proposed ECA scheme.

Improve Performance (QoS) in Wireless Sensor Networks Using TCP/IP Protocol

Unattended devices may provide high resolution information about sensed phenomena at the point where sensors are arranged together. There has been a great surge of interest in WSN in recent years, concentrating on developing the required hardware, software, and networking architectures to enable such applications. A broad variety of heterogeneous remote entities and the current IP-based internet should be merged into one ubiquitous network in the ideal 4G worldview to provide transparent consumer connectivity. As a relative of the remote network, the sensor network should be organized and all IP systems will not be able to manage this new development in this work, given the main difficulties in the auxiliary architecture of IP-based and sensor systems. TCP/IP has been the genuine conventional suite for the organization of wired networks. The easiest and most convenient way to deal with TCP/IP interface systems and sensor systems is to use TCP/IP.

Cost-efficient service selection and execution and blockchain-enabled serverless network for internet of medical things

<abstract><p>These days, healthcare applications on the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) network have been growing to deal with different diseases via different sensors. These healthcare sensors are connecting to the various healthcare fog servers. The hospitals are geographically distributed and offer different services to the patients from any ubiquitous network. However, due to the full offloading of data to the insecure servers, two main challenges exist in the IoMT network. (i) Data security of workflows healthcare applications between different fog healthcare nodes. (ii) The cost-efficient and QoS efficient scheduling of healthcare applications in the IoMT system. This paper devises the Cost-Efficient Service Selection and Execution and Blockchain-Enabled Serverless Network for Internet of Medical Things system. The goal is to choose cost-efficient services and schedule all tasks based on their QoS and minimum execution cost. Simulation results show that the proposed outperform all existing schemes regarding data security, validation by 10%, and cost of application execution by 33% in IoMT.</p></abstract>

Security in 6G: The Prospects and the Relevant Technologies

The prospect of information and communication technology (ICT) has given rise to widespread attention and in-depth research on 6G. It is estimated that 6G will not be implemented until 2030; it is currently at the research and foundation stage. Based on the development of the previous five generations, from 1G to 5G, 6G has the potential to provide customized services through a holographic and ubiquitous network. 6G’s achievement will need the support of various technologies. One important factor in the success of 6G will be security. Specifically, 6G’s key enabling technologies include terahertz, a very large scale antenna, a tactile Internet, etc. This study addresses the fundamental principles of 6G security, discusses major technologies related to 6G security, and presents several issues regarding 6G security. This paper will offer value to anyone who is paying attention to the security issues in 6G.

ICT: Providing Sustainable Economic and Social Development in a Ubiquitous Network Society

The development of the traditional infrastructure of any country would facilitate and enhance information society. However, inadequate infrastructural development, poor economic and social access, slow adoption of new technology and limited technical know-how are some dilemma plaguing ICT application and implementation in the Nigeria context. This paper therefore, is poised toward addressing these issues and proffering recommendations with the aim of supporting government efforts, increasing the efficiency of social service delivery and raising economic efficiency and cost reduction in ICT related mechanism. It is hoped that ICT applications and usage would lead to systemic growth, economic development, and the provision of socio-economic sustainability in Nigeria.

How to Support Vulnerable Citizens during the COVID-19 Lockdown: A Community Initiative from Ubiquitous Network Perspectives

The current COVID-19 lockdown situation has had a negative impact on people’s connectedness which also has an influence on the well-being of the citizens (Canady, 2020; Hare-Duke, 2019; Oe, 2020). The enhancement of human interaction and networking is a key topic to sustain people’s health, and this has been on the emergent agenda during the current COVID-19 situation (Oe, 2020).To tackle this issue, one theory that could be employed is the efficacy of community members’ engagement, as proposed by McMillian and Chavis (1986), who summarised a key ‘sense of community’ model. This model suggests four main dimensions should be strengthened to engage community members in supporting vulnerable people: a sense of belonging, an emotional connection, fulfilment of needs, and influence (Bermea et al., 2019).This conceptual paper aims to enhance the discussion of how best to support vulnerable isolated citizens during the COVID-19 lockdown situation. A proposition framework suggests actionable implications with tangible recommendations for the relevant stakeholders. The authors propose two key themes to be considered: (1) how to meet needs and provide support in the virtual network community, and (2) how to implement assistive technologies as a ubiquitous network paradigm as a community safety net for all.
