In the areas where enterprises operating in the extractive sector of the economy operate, multifactor, often time-varying, types of technogenic impact on the biosphere arise. Deep quarrying after coal mining, which radically changes the initial landscapes, require significant funds to restore the ecological balance of the territory. In order to accelerate rehabilitation measures within the boundaries of an ecosystem that was disturbed during the development of the Kolyvan deposit, an approach to organizing combined flooding of mining and creating a multi-use reservoir was proposed. To reduce the time of the formation of the reservoir, it is recommended that the M. Elbash River and the Krutikha River be diverted to the developed space with further organization of release into the Krutikha riverbed. In order to avoid erosion of the quarry side wall, made up of Quaternary sediments, it was proposed to provide water inlet to the quarry at existing motor ramps, bypassing the boundary of the Quaternary sediments. Since the considered decisions on the rehabilitation of the territory can have a negative impact on aquatic biological resources, an assessment of the alleged damage has been carried out, on the basis of which compensatory measures for restoring biodiversity are provided.

Brain damage such as stroke is a devastating neurological condition that may severely compromise patient quality of life. No effective medication-mediated intervention to accelerate rehabilitation has been established. We found that a small compound, edonerpic maleate, facilitated experience-driven synaptic glutamate AMPA (α-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazole-propionic-acid) receptor delivery and resulted in the acceleration of motor function recovery after motor cortex cryoinjury in mice in a training-dependent manner through cortical reorganization. Edonerpic bound to collapsin-response-mediator-protein 2 (CRMP2) and failed to augment recovery in CRMP2-deficient mice. Edonerpic maleate enhanced motor function recovery from internal capsule hemorrhage in nonhuman primates. Thus, edonerpic maleate, a neural plasticity enhancer, could be a clinically potent small compound with which to accelerate rehabilitation after brain damage.
