Abstract The most suitable methods for increasing the climate resistance of buildings on hot summer days are intensive ventilation and effective external shading. However, it is possible to discuss what kind of approach used, while simulating the control of these two elements in energy simulation programs, to make the result as much representative as possible. We created and compared three different control modes for this purpose. The basic mode represented models created from monitoring of habits of building users, while the second mode represented an automatic system based on sensory control. The third mode represented models that provide an early warning system against a series of hot days. They intervene in windows and blinds control for a several days in advance. The base mode using the schedules reached more than 2 °C higher maximum indoor air temperature than the two others in a direct comparison of these three systems by simulating a simple building. It also has been shown that with a relatively simple early warning system, it would be possible to replace an even more complex automatic system.

This text presents the results of the first research conducted on “green” actions and strikes for climate in high schools across Québec, a Canadian province that witnessed in 2019 the larger street protests of the international youth movement. Based on 20 semistructured interviews with students from 12 high schools, letters from school principals addressed to parents, and research in the media, this text reaffirms that schools are a place of political conflicts and struggles not only between students and adults but also between students in opposite currents of the movement. It is also a reminder of the involvement of young people in autonomous direct action groups (Extinction Rebellion). The discussion then focuses on potential implications of the movement for future elections, the legitimacy of these collective actions in relation to the philosophical debate about civil disobedience (John Rawls, Ronald Dworkin, Manuel Cerveza-Marzal, and Alan Carter), and the hope for a renewal of the student movement in Québec in the face of a disaster of unprecedented scale.

ContextCow milk is consumed in many countries. However, its consumption can be associated with gastrointestinal disorders in humans. The genetic profile of β-casein is one of the factors responsible for these disorders and the A1 variant is a causal agent. The β-casein A1 leads to the formation of bioactive peptides, which trigger intestinal reactions. The same is not observed for the A2 allele. A2 milk is obtained from cows with the A2A2 genotype. The identification of breeds and selection of animals for A2 milk production is important for public health and animal production. The Sindhi cattle (Bos taurus indicus) possesses characteristics such as adaptation to hot climate, resistance to parasites and utilisation of low-quality forage that are important for rearing in the tropics. AimsThe objective of the present study was to genotype the single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) that forms A1 and A2 alleles of the β-casein in Sindhi cattle. MethodsIn total, 348 Sindhi animals were used. DNA was extracted from hair follicles and submitted to PCR-sequencing for genotyping. Key resultsAllele frequency for A2 was 0.94 and for A1 it was 0.06. Genotype frequencies were 0.90 (A2A2), 0.09 (A1A2) and 0.01 (A1A1). The frequency of the A2A2 genotype in Sindhi cattle was similar to or higher than those found in zebu breeds and higher than those reported for specialised taurine breeds. ConclusionsThis high frequency of the A2A2 genotype indicates a genetic potential of the breed for A2 milk production and easy, assisted selection (if that is the intention). ImplicationsThis information gives importance to the breed and permits to add value to dairy product derived from it. It may increase producer’s income through producing and marketing A2 milk.

Pesticides are chemicals and organic which are used by farmers to protect rice plants from pests, farmers often experience difficulties in choosing the pesticides to be used. Where pesticide products circulate very much in the market and offer various advantages of each product, but often farmers experience incompatibility with what has been offered by each product Where pesticide products circulate very much in the market and offer various advantages of each product, but often farmers experience incompatibility with what has been offered by each product. The incompatibility of pesticides used by farmers can affect the yields of farmers. The purpose of this study is as knowledge of farmers in determining the best pesticides to eradicate pests in rice plants, especially in the village of Bah Sampuran and apply the MAUT method (Multi Attribute Utility Theory) to calculate each criterion of alternatives and produce cracking in recommending the best pesticides to eradicate pests in plants rice. The criteria used are: the workings of the pesticides, the price of pesticides, many pests, shelf life, the effect on humans, the influence on rice plants, the influence on other animals, climate resistance. This application was built using Vb net programming language and MySql database. From the results of this study it was found that Alternative Plenum had the highest value with a value of 0.79 so that it became the best Pesticide recommendation. Keywords: Decision Support System, Pesticides, FOREIGN, Vb net, MySql
