Spacelike Surfaces with a Common Line of Curvature in Lorentz-Minkowski 3-Space

This paper aims to study spacelike surfaces from a given spacelike curve in Minkowski 3–space. Also, we investigate the necessary and sufficient conditions for the given space-like curve to be the line of curvature on the space-like surface. Depending on the causal character of the curve, the necessary and sufficient conditions for the given space-like curve to satisfy the line of curvature and the geodesic (resp. asymptotic) requirements are also analyzed. Furthermore, we give with illustration some computational examples in support of our main results.

Isophote curves on spacelike surfaces in Lorentz–Minkowski space

An isophote curve consists of a locus of surface points whose normal vectors make a constant angle with a fixed vector (the axis). In this paper, we define an isophote curve on a spacelike surface in Lorentz–Minkowski space [Formula: see text] and then find its axis as timelike and spacelike vectors via the Darboux frame. Besides, we give some relations between isophote curves and special curves on surfaces such as geodesic curves, asymptotic curves or lines of curvature.

THE SHAPE OPERATOR OF THE BEZIER SURFACES IN MINKOWSKI-3 SPACE

Bezier surfaces are commonly used in Computer-Aided Geometric Design since it enables in geometric modeling of the objects. In this study, the shape operator of the timelike and spacelike surfaces has been analyzed in Minkowski-3 space. Then, the obtained results were applied to a numeric example

Schwarzschild de Sitter and extremal surfaces

We study extremal surfaces in the Schwarzschild de Sitter spacetime with real mass parameter. We find codim-2 timelike extremal surfaces stretching between the future and past boundaries that pass through the vicinity of the cosmological horizon in a certain limit. These are analogous to the surfaces in http://arxiv.org/abs/1711.01107 [hep-th]. We also find spacelike surfaces that never reach the future/past boundaries but stretch indefinitely through the extended Penrose diagram, passing through the vicinity of the cosmological and Schwarzschild horizons in a certain limit. Further, these exhibit interesting structure for de Sitter space (zero mass) as well as in the extremal, or Nariai, limit.
