Resistance exercise is deemed safe for women recovering from conventional breast cancer therapies but few clinicians are aware that dragon boat racing, as a form of resistive exercise, is available to the breast cancer community. The objectives of this study were to 1) increase clinician awareness of dragon boat racing (DBR) in breast cancer survivors as a community-based physical activity, and 2) evaluate quality of life (QOL) in breast cancer survivors with or without lymphedema who participate in DBR. This prospective, observational study surveyed 1,069 international breast cancer dragon boat racers from eight countries to compare function, activity, and participation in women with and without self-reported lymphedema using the Lymph-ICF questionnaire. Seventy-one percent of women (n=758) completed the questionnaires. Results revealed significantly higher Lymph-ICF scores in the lymphedema participants, signifying reduced QOL, when compared to the nonlymphedema participants (p<0.05), except for "go on vacation" for which no statistical difference was reported (p=0.20). International breast cancer survivors with lymphedema participating in DBR at an international competition had reduced function, limited activity, and restricted participation compared to participants without lymphedema. Clinicians should consider utilizing DBR as a community-based activity to support exercise and physical activity after a breast cancer diagnosis.

The Chinese Benteng community which inhabits the Tangerang Banten area is a community that has customs as practiced by its ancestors from China. The tradition he lived is the Peh-Cun ceremony. The party was carried out from ritual processions to entertainment in the form of dragon boat racing competitions. This is an attraction in conducting a study of the object.            The research uses qualitative methods. Direct observations are made to understand some of the phenomena that exist during the ceremony by taking data in the field and interviews.            The results of this study consisted of two aspects, first, the manifestation of the obedience and loyalty of the Chinese Benteng community towards Tian (God) and Khut Guan (the legendary figure in the Peh-Cun ceremony). The second result, the Peh-Cun celebration besides providing entertainment to the community, there was also an encouragement that encouraged the people of Chinese Benteng. It was seen when the dragon boat racing competition accompanied by drummers and shouts could be responded by the contest participants. If the musical phenomenon is drawn into a broader realm, the dragon boat race can motivate the Chinese Benteng ethnic community to remain strong and firm in their lives, namely the realization of balance, as found in the Yin-Yang concept that they believe in.

Management of coastal tourism has been extensively researched but this research emphasizes the development of coastal tourism potentials in Bentung Villages. Government and stakeholder support in is required in coastal tourism development. The regency of Kepulauan Sangihe which is a maritime regency has a Tourism Strategic Area in Sangihe Islands Local Regulation No. 15 Year 2008 which tell that a region that has a major function of tourism or has potential for tourism development that has an important influence in one or more aspects such as economic, social and cultural growth, natural resources empowerment, environmental carrying capacity, defense and security. Bentung Village a tourist attraction such as Mairokang Beach Game (MBG) that held annually. This study focuses on the development of coastal tourism attractions in the village of Bentung with a diversified form of tourism products that are still many other than the MBG competition. The potential of coastal resources in Bentung Village such as coral reefs, Mangrove Forest has an area of 2.82 Ha and classified as undamaged. Bentung Beach tourism has three areas that have different sand such as Bulo Beach, Nagha Beach and Mairokang Beach. MBG carries out cultural activities of Sangihe and becomes a tourist attraction of Kepulauan Sangihe Regency, This attraction is a boat racing competition.

Amateur keel boat racing has becoming more and more popular on coastal regions with an old sailing tradition, such as in Adriatic. Although the traditional experience is transmitted to new generations of skippers and crews that compete on national and international regattas with open class boat, the material limits of the boat are often measured subjectively, by sail or mast failure, and transmitted by a story. Most sailors know why some component failed, but often they don’t know what force was needed for the particular failure. Forces acting on a boat are usually estimated with CFD and towing tank experiment for relevant sailing conditions, but full scale data in seaway are rarely taken. Here we wanted to show a low budget method to get a rough estimate of aerodynamic and hydrodynamic forces acting on a keel sailboat using a kinematic sensor. Some approximations are taken into account to construct a simplified mathematical sailboat model, which allow to relate kinematic data to forces acting on sail, hull, keel and rudder. Some data as the geometry and mass distribution of the boat has to be known, other parameters such as water resistance instead has to be experimentally measured. Results of a series of measurements are presented and discussed. Looking on the limitations of such a method, a proposal for a new sensor is made.
