High perturbations of a new Kirchhoff problem involving the p-Laplace operator

In the present work we are concerned with the existence and multiplicity of solutions for the following new Kirchhoff problem involving the p-Laplace operator: $$ \textstyle\begin{cases} - (a-b\int _{\Omega } \vert \nabla u \vert ^{p}\,dx ) \Delta _{p}u = \lambda \vert u \vert ^{q-2}u + g(x, u), & x \in \Omega , \\ u = 0, & x \in \partial \Omega , \end{cases} $$ { − ( a − b ∫ Ω | ∇ u | p d x ) Δ p u = λ | u | q − 2 u + g ( x , u ) , x ∈ Ω , u = 0 , x ∈ ∂ Ω , where $a, b > 0$ a , b > 0 , $\Delta _{p} u := \operatorname{div}(|\nabla u|^{p-2}\nabla u)$ Δ p u : = div ( | ∇ u | p − 2 ∇ u ) is the p-Laplace operator, $1 < p < N$ 1 < p < N , $p < q < p^{\ast }:=(Np)/(N-p)$ p < q < p ∗ : = ( N p ) / ( N − p ) , $\Omega \subset \mathbb{R}^{N}$ Ω ⊂ R N ($N \geq 3$ N ≥ 3 ) is a bounded smooth domain. Under suitable conditions on g, we show the existence and multiplicity of solutions in the case of high perturbations (λ large enough). The novelty of our work is the appearance of new nonlocal terms which present interesting difficulties.

On a p x -Biharmonic Kirchhoff Problem with Navier Boundary Conditions

In this article, we study the existence of solutions for nonlocal p x -biharmonic Kirchhoff-type problem with Navier boundary conditions. By different variational methods, we determine intervals of parameters for which this problem admits at least one nontrivial solution.

Discontinuous perturbations of nonhomogeneous strongly-singular Kirchhoff problems

In this paper, we are concerned with a Kirchhoff problem in the presence of a strongly-singular term perturbed by a discontinuous nonlinearity of the Heaviside type in the setting of Orlicz–Sobolev space. The presence of both strongly-singular and non-continuous terms brings up difficulties in associating a differentiable functional to the problem with finite energy in the whole space $$W_0^{1,\Phi }(\Omega )$$ W 0 1 , Φ ( Ω ) . To overcome this obstacle, we establish an optimal condition for the existence of $$W_0^{1,\Phi }(\Omega )$$ W 0 1 , Φ ( Ω ) -solutions to a strongly-singular problem, which allows us to constrain the energy functional to a subset of $$W_0^{1,\Phi }(\Omega )$$ W 0 1 , Φ ( Ω ) in order to apply techniques of convex analysis and generalized gradient in the sense of Clarke.

The Nehari manifold for indefinite Kirchhoff problem with Caffarelli-Kohn-Nirenberg type critical growth

In this paper we study the following class of nonlocal problem involving Caffarelli-Kohn-Nirenberg type critical growth $$ L(u)-\lambda h(x)|x|^{-2(1+a)}u=\mu f(x)|u|^{q-2}u+|x|^{-pb}|u|^{p-2}u\quad \text{in } \mathbb R^N, $$% where $h(x)\geq 0$, $f(x)$ is a continuous function which may change sign, $\lambda, \mu$ are positive real parameters and $1< q< 2< 4< p=2N/[N+2(b-a)-2]$, $0\leq a< b< a+1< N/2$, $N\geq 3$. Here $$ L(u)=-M\left(\int_{\mathbb R^N} |x|^{-2a}|\nabla u|^2dx\right)\mathrm {div} \big(|x|^{-2a}\nabla u\big) $$ and the function $M\colon \mathbb R^+_0\to\mathbb R^+_0$ is exactly the Kirchhoff model, given by $M(t)=\alpha+\beta t$, $\alpha, \beta> 0$. The above problem has a double lack of compactness, firstly because of the non-compactness of Caffarelli-Kohn-Nirenberg embedding and secondly due to the non-compactness of the inclusion map $$u\mapsto \int_{\mathbb R^N}h(x)|x|^{-2(a+1)}|u|^2dx,$$ as the domain of the problem in consideration is unbounded. Deriving these crucial compactness results combined with constrained minimization argument based on Nehari manifold technique, we prove the existence of at least two positive solutions for suitable choices of parameters $\lambda$ and $\mu$.

Positive solutions for a degenerate Kirchhoff problem

By assuming that the Kirchhoff term has $K$ degeneracy points and other appropriated conditions, we have proved the existence of at least $K$ positive solutions other than those obtained in Santos Júnior and Siciliano [Positive solutions for a Kirchhoff problem with vanishing nonlocal term, J. Differ. Equ. 265 (2018), 2034–2043], which also have ordered $H_{0}^{1}(\Omega )$ -norms. A concentration phenomena of these solutions is verified as a parameter related to the area of a region under the graph of the reaction term goes to zero.

The Multiplicity of Nontrivial Solutions for a New p x -Kirchhoff-Type Elliptic Problem

In the paper, we study the existence of weak solutions for a class of new nonlocal problems involving a p x -Laplacian operator. By using Ekeland’s variational principle and mountain pass theorem, we prove that the new p x -Kirchhoff problem has at least two nontrivial weak solutions.

Negative Energy Solutions for a New Fractional p x -Kirchhoff Problem without the (AR) Condition

In this paper, we investigate the following Kirchhoff type problem involving the fractional p x -Laplacian operator. a − b ∫ Ω × Ω u x − u y p x , y / p x , y x − y N + s p x , y d x d y L u = λ u q x − 2 u + f x , u x ∈ Ω u = 0 x ∈ ∂ Ω , , where Ω is a bounded domain in ℝ N with Lipschitz boundary, a ≥ b > 0 are constants, p x , y is a function defined on Ω ¯ × Ω ¯ , s ∈ 0 , 1 , and q x > 1 , L u is the fractional p x -Laplacian operator, N > s p x , y , for any x , y ∈ Ω ¯ × Ω ¯ , p x ∗ = p x , x N / N − s p x , x , λ is a given positive parameter, and f is a continuous function. By using Ekeland’s variational principle and dual fountain theorem, we obtain some new existence and multiplicity of negative energy solutions for the above problem without the Ambrosetti-Rabinowitz ((AR) for short) condition.

Uniqueness and concentration for a fractional Kirchhoff problem with strong singularity

In this paper, we consider the following fractional Kirchhoff problem with strong singularity: $$ \textstyle\begin{cases} (1+ b\int _{\mathbb{R}^{3}}\int _{\mathbb{R}^{3}} \frac{ \vert u(x)-u(y) \vert ^{2}}{ \vert x-y \vert ^{3+2s}}\,\mathrm{d}x \,\mathrm{d}y )(-\Delta )^{s} u+V(x)u = f(x)u^{-\gamma }, & x \in \mathbb{R}^{3}, \\ u>0,& x\in \mathbb{R}^{3}, \end{cases} $$ { ( 1 + b ∫ R 3 ∫ R 3 | u ( x ) − u ( y ) | 2 | x − y | 3 + 2 s d x d y ) ( − Δ ) s u + V ( x ) u = f ( x ) u − γ , x ∈ R 3 , u > 0 , x ∈ R 3 , where $(-\Delta )^{s}$ ( − Δ ) s is the fractional Laplacian with $0< s<1$ 0 < s < 1 , $b>0$ b > 0 is a constant, and $\gamma >1$ γ > 1 . Since $\gamma >1$ γ > 1 , the energy functional is not well defined on the work space, which is quite different with the situation of $0<\gamma <1$ 0 < γ < 1 and can lead to some new difficulties. Under certain assumptions on V and f, we show the existence and uniqueness of a positive solution $u_{b}$ u b by using variational methods and the Nehari manifold method. We also give a convergence property of $u_{b}$ u b as $b\rightarrow 0$ b → 0 , where b is regarded as a positive parameter.
