In modern urban analysis, line–nodal connections are often used as a model, diagram or matrix for describing space and its accompanying phenomena. In practice, the search for relationships in space is often nothing but the designation of lines reflecting their physical and nonphysical association by their geometry. Recording the spatial issues of a city constituting a very complex structure on the surface of paper, or on a computer monitor, is an extremely difficult conceptual task. At the heart of Design Thinking is a deep understanding of the relationship between different elements. It can therefore be concluded that heuristics are the basis for understanding the Design Thinking method. An attempt was made to check whether the Design Thinking method can restore the optimal balance between modern tools used to develop course projects, and the need to search for the best solution constituting the idea of the project. The article presents the results of two-year research on the use of the Design Thinking method in academic teaching of subjects related to the subject of spatial planning. Thanks to the use of the Design Thinking method in teaching spatial planning, it is often possible to discover design possibilities and proposals that surprise students.

The purpose of this study was a comparison of soil parameters among superficial and sub-superficial horizons of three representative type of soils in Vale dos Vinhedos, Brazil, aiming Viticulture in general, but Precision Viticulture (PV) management as specific focus. Basic aspects of Viticulture or PV are still discussed, by instance, sampling procedures, influence of pedology on quality of wine or methods for defining the management zones. Samples were collected according to each horizon, superficial (0-20 cm in depth) or sub-superficial (>40 cm in depth), that is, A (all soils), A2 (Neossolo), Bi (Cambissolo), or Bt (Argissolo). Micro-vinification was performed for grapes derived from five classes of soil. The pedological parameters analyzed were granulometric fractions, chemical parameters and degree of flocculation. Data were organized according to a Geographic Information System (GIS) by ten classes of soil. Basic statistical analysis, line graphs, XY plots and factor analysis were used to interpret the physicochemical variables related to horizons, soil and wine. Relative Accumulation Indexes were evaluated for horizons of soil, classes of soil and wine. Data organized by horizon and type of soil showed great dispersion, so outliers were discarded and data organized by class of soil. Correlation of data related to soil horizons, A against A2/B, was evident for macronutrients. Micro-vinification altered content of K and P in wine. Relative Accumulation Indexes of soil horizons correlated to declivity, when declivity lesser than 20% occurred. Fe and Zn showed correlation among sub-superficial horizon and wine for some classes of soil.

Abstract:In this article, we propose an analysis of didactic materials adopted by the Ministry of Education (MEC) for publics schools of the State of Minas Gerais. From our analysis, we intend to establish a relationship between the discipline, language acquisition and the study of history in the sixth year of basic education. We know that it is challenging to try to analyze this material from the discursive perspective. On the other hand, we know that the theoretical support of the Discourse Analysis line, with which we propose to work, may lead us to some very interesting questions that will allow us to rethink the use of language in teaching.

Twelve long-eared and twelve thick-eared lines were identified for this purpose. Single crosses were evaluated using a 12 x 12 simple lattice design with four replications in five environments during 1995. General combining ability (GCA) and Specific combining ability (SCA) estimates for grain yield were ca1culated using line x tester analysis. Line 4 (Pop.21xPop.43) registered the highest GCA value (0,58 t/ha) among long-eared lines; while in the group of thick-eared lines the highest GCA values (0,48 t/ha) corresponded to line 19 (Pop.25). The highest yield (8,35 t/ha) and SCA effect of (0,61 t/ha) was produced by cross 4 x 22 (Pop.21xPop.43) x (Pop.32). Results showed that it is important to consider the use of lines with different traits and their heterotic pattern to develop hybrids maximizing Fl performance.

Invert sugar content has been identified as a possible future beet quality marker since it has a significant influence on sugar yield and production costs. Venema Automation started selling a glucose analyzer in 2013 as part of their beet brei analysis line. It was decided to invest in such an instrument to learn more about functionality and variations between countries and time of the campaign. After campaign 2013, based on dialogue with Venema and other users of the analyzer, improvements in software and hardware were agreed and implemented during summer 2014.

Functional tolerancing must ensure the assembly and the functioning of a mechanism. This paper compares two methods of tolerance analysis of a mechanical system: the method of “analysis lines” and the method of “polytopes.” The first method needs a discretization of the ending functional surface according to various analysis lines placed on the outer-bound of the face and oriented along the normal of the surface. The second method uses polytopes. The polytopes are defined from the acceptable limits of the geometric deviations of parts and possible displacements between two parts. Minkowski sums and intersections polytopes are then carried out to take into account all geometric variations of a mechanism.

This is a qualitative study with the aim to understand the meaning of experiencing illness for a child with cancer. The thematic drawing-story was used, with eight children aged between 6 and 12 years old, from February to May of 2012. The material was analyzed according to the theoretical and analytical framework of the French Discourse Analysis line, which seeks to understand the socio-historical processes of meaning production. The study revealed that, for the child with cancer, the disease is found out in an unexpected manner and he/she is soon inserted into a new context. In addition, the child faces barriers that may delay diagnosis, having his/her routine changed. The child presents signals and symptoms that cause discomfort and anxiety. At the same time, the child hopes to be healed with the treatment accomplishment. The results may contribute to changes in nursing care for this population.
