The Mössbauer spectroscopy data on the 119Sn, 121Sb and 125Te isotopes have showed that the structure of germanium atoms local surrounding changes as a result of Ge2Sb2Te5 amorphous films crystallization (tetrahedral symmetry changes to octahedral), while the environment of antimony and tellurium atoms does not change, and for antimony atoms it is close to that in the Sb2Te3 compound.

AbstractThe formation of antisite defects in Ge_20Te_80 and Ge_15As_4Te_81 vitreous alloys in the form of tin atoms in tellurium sites and tellurium atoms in germanium sites is shown by emission Mössbauer spectroscopy with the ^119 mm Sn(^119 m Sn), ^119 m Te(^119 m Sn), ^125Sn(^125Te), and ^125 m Te(^125Te) isotopes. It is shown that the isovalent substitution of germanium atoms by tin atoms does not vary the symmetry of the local surrounding of germanium sites, while tin and tellurium atoms reconstruct their local surrounding in sites unnatural for them.

A novel texture classification approach based on neighborhood estimated local binary patterns (NELBP) is proposed. In the proposed approach, the local surrounding values of neighborhood estimated are introduced to operate binary patterns. Moreover, two different and complementary descriptors (average-based descriptor and differences-based descriptor) are extracted from local patches. Contrast experiments on Outex database and CUReT database demonstrate that the proposed NELBP is more robust to Gaussian noise than the conventional LBP for texture classification. In addition, the results also show that the combined complementary descriptor playes an important role in texture classification.
