DEVELOPMENT OF A CHATBOT TO IDENTIFY DEPRESSION THROUGH A QUESTIONNAIRE

Purpose: to develop and test a prototype of Chatbot (Artificial Intelligence) with the purpose of applying a questionnaire to assess depression in visually impairmed invidivuals. Methods: This project was carried out in the Innovation in Health Technology Laboratory of the Sao Paulo Federal University. The Chatbot was developed using the platform BLiP. The social demography questionnaire and the Center for Epidemiological Scale Depression (CES D) were selected to collect the essential data and to identify the presence of depression, respectively. After the development, validation tests were applied to verify the functionality and structure of the chatbot. Results: The Chatbot prototype presented an excellent flow of conversation in the tests conducted. The questionnaires were applied in a satisfactory manner during the tests, showing that it could possibly be applied to real patients with depression symptoms. Software validation tests approved the prototypes function. Conclusions: The Chatbot prototype is an affordable and easy way to apply questionnaires that can be used to identify health conditions, such as the likelihood of being depressed. The Chatbot system can record the answers so it is analyzed by health care professionals to help decide if an intervention is necessary. Tree Species used as Fodder in Madhya Pradesh, India

The intricate dependence of cattle on agriculture resources for their population sustenance, which in turn, is a subsidiary source of income and supplementary insurance of people to maintain equilibrium of the social demography, mainly during collapse in crop yields. In such conditions, cattle raisers are forced to utilize alternate fodder resources from trees growing in vicinity which may lead to their over exploitation and population shrinkage. Identification and recognition of such trees is therefore necessary for population sustenance of both cattle and their fodder resources to avert imbalance in the community structure. The present paper enumerates 132 tree species as potential cattle fodder resources of Madhya Pradesh having highest cattle population in India.

The Productivity of Non-AGP Broiler Small-Holder Businesses Based on Production, Economy and Social Demography

The study investigated the productivity of smallholder broiler farming with and without AGP to identify the difference between the utilization and absence of antibiotic growth promoter (AGP) incorporated into the broiler feed based on production (feed efficiency and cumulative performance index), economy (farming capacity and income), and socio-demography (farmers’ education background, age, farming experience, and farming motivation) in Central Java Province. The study was conducted through a survey of broiler farmers in one partnership company. The data analysis included analysis of variance based on a stratified GLM (general linear model) and correlation analysis. The result did not identify significant differences in the production aspects in either AGP or non-AGP farming, among different regencies, and farm size. In 2018, when farms stop using the AGP, the farm production is better than in 2017 when the AGP was used. Based on the economic aspect, the AGP and non-AGP administration did not affect farming capacity and income. The socio-demographic aspect showed that education significantly affected the success of broiler farming, while farmers’ age, farming experience, and farming motivation did not affect the production of broiler farming. The result of correlation analysis showed that education background contributed to feeding efficiency and cumulative performance index. The conclusions are (1) broilers fed with either AGP or non-AGP containing feed showed relatively similar performance, (2) the government policy on the prohibition of AGP does not contribute to the decrease of farmers’ income and (3) the demographic aspect affecting the success of the broiler farming business is the farmers’ education level.

The Future of Food: Understanding Public Preferences for the Management of Agricultural Resources

The current U.S food system has managed to provide abundant food at a relatively low cost, even as the population increases. However, this unfettered growth is reaching maximum yields as demand for greater food production competes with other uses of agricultural lands. Extant ecological factors such as water scarcity are reducing food productivity, and competition for resources to produce food is becoming more apparent. This research examines public policy preferences of U.S. west coast citizens for the management of agricultural resources through the use of random household surveys. Results suggest overall support among respondents for food policies using regulatory, tax incentive, and voluntary outreach approaches. Multivariate analyses revealed that some social-demography, knowledge, environmental values, political ideology, and environmental efficacy variables were significant predictors of public opposition and support for food policies.
