Unique Amphibole Bearing Mantle Column Beneath the Leningrad Kimberlite Pipe, West Ukukit Field, NE Yakutia

In the subcratonic mantle beneath Leningrad pipe, West Ukukit field, Yakutia garnet thermoba-rometry give division to 7 horizons (paleosubduction slabs). Cr-bearing amphiboles >500 reveal a broad range changing from Cr- pargasitic hornblendes to pargasites, edinites, kataforites, К-richterites with increasing pressure determined with new amphibole thermobarometer. Cr-hornblendes compiles the high-temperature branch from 3.5 GPa to Moho for basaltic melt. Amphiboles in the middle eddinites and high-pressure interval reveal different PT ranges from 35 to 40 mw/m2. Richterites near the lithosphere base both trace low –T and convective branches. The amphiboles reveal the 9 geochemical groups. The low-temperature varieties reveal Eu minima and U, Ba, Sr peaks high LILE, Sr, Rb and troughs in Nb, Pb. While high –T varieties have no Eu dips and reveal higher HFSE. Clinopyroxenes and garnets show variable trace ele-ment patterns and divisions in groups eth the plume and subduction signs. The contrasting be-haviour of Ta and Nb is regulated by the rutile partition coefficients likely for primary eclogites. Subduction and Na and K (siliceous) types of fluids percolated through the mantle with abun-dant eclogites causing amphibolization at the different levels of the mantle column. The plume melts produced hybridism and more smooth trace element patterns in reacted minerals, clino-pyroxene. monomineral thermobarometry.

Analysis of Preload of Three-Stator Ultrasonic Motor

The pre-pressure device of the ultrasonic motor plays a vital role in the design of the entire motor structure, the contact state of the stator and rotor of the motor, dynamic properties of the stator, friction and wear characteristics of the rotor; even the mechanical behaviors of the entire electric machinery have a profound impact. Appropriate pre-pressure is conducive to the smooth operation of the ultrasonic motor, so that the output performance remains excellent, reducing wear and effectively extend the service life of the motor. Therefore, the research on pre-stress is of great significance, as it can better optimize the structure of the three-stator ultrasonic motor and lay the foundation for the stable operation of the motor. First, this paper introduces the construction of the motor as a whole and the pre-pressure device briefly described the working mechanism of the motor, and then introduces the influence of the pre-pressure on the stator and rotor contact models, the position of the constant velocity point, and the modal frequency. Finally, the motor output under different pre-pressures is discussed. The performance experiment has determined the optimal pre-pressure interval, which provides help for its subsequent optimization.

Human TRPA1 is an inherently mechanosensitive bilayer-gated ion channel

The Transient Receptor Potential Ankyrin 1 (TRPA1) channel is an intrinsic chemo- and thermo-sensitive ion channel with distinct sensory signaling properties. Although a role of TRPA1 in mammalian mechanosensory transduction in vivo seems likely, it remains to be shown that TRPA1 has the inherent capability to respond to mechanical stimuli. Here we have used the patch-clamp technique to study the response of human purified TRPA1 (hTRPA1), reconstituted into artificial lipid bilayers, to changes in bilayer pressure. We report that hTRPA1 responded with increased single-channel open probability (Po) within the applied pressure interval of 7.5 to 60 mmHg with a half maximum Po (P50) value of 38.0 ± 2.3 mmHg. The Po value reached a maximum close to 1 (0.87 ± 0.02) at 60 mmHg. Within the same pressure interval, hTRPA1 without its N-terminal ankyrin repeat domain (Δ1-688 hTRPA1) responded fully opened (0.99 ± 0.01) at 60 mmHg and with a P50 value of 39.0 ± 1.1 mmHg. The pressure-evoked responses of hTRPA1 and Δ1-688 hTRPA1 at 45 mmHg were inhibited by the TRPA1 antagonist HC030031, and the activity of purified hTRPA1 at 45 mmHg was abolished by the thiol reducing agent tris(2-carboxyethyl)phosphine (TCEP). In conclusion, hTRPA1 is an inherent mechanosensitive ion channel gated by force-from-lipids. The hTRPA1 mechanosensitivity is dependent on the redox environment, and it is suggested that oxidative stress shifts hTRPA1 into a protein conformation sensitive to mechanical stimuli.

OH defect contents in quartz in a granitic system at 1–5 kbar

Quartz is able to incorporate trace elements (e.g., H, Li, Al, B) depending on the formation conditions (P, T, and chemical system). Consequently, quartz can be used as a tracer for petrogenetic information of silicic plutonic bodies. In this experimental study, we provide the first data set on the OH defect incorporation in quartz from granites over a pressure/temperature range realistic for the emplacement of granitic melts in the upper crust. Piston cylinder and internally heated pressure vessel synthesis experiments were performed in a water-saturated granitic system at 1–5 kbar and 700–950 °C. Crystals from successful runs were analysed by secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS) and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, and their homogeneity was verified by FTIR imaging. IR absorption bands can be assigned to specific OH defects and analysed qualitatively and quantitatively and reveal that (1) the AlOH band triplet at 3310, 3378 and 3430 cm−1 is the dominating absorption feature in all spectra, (2) no simple trend of total OH defect incorporation with pressure can be observed, (3) the LiOH defect band at 3470–3480 cm−1 increases strongly in a narrow pressure interval from 4 kbar (220 µg/g H2O) to 4.5 kbar (500 µg/g H2O), and declines equally strong towards 5 kbar (180 µg/g H2O). Proton incorporation is charge balanced according to the equation H+ + A+ + P5+ = M3+ + B3+, with A+ = alkali ions and M3+ = trivalent metal ions.

Optical properties of Na0.5Bi0.5TiO3 crystals

We report some peculiarities of behavior of domain structure and birefringence ∆n of Na0.5Bi0.5TiO3 crystals. Polarization-optical methods are used to study the domain structure and the birefringence ∆n in temperature interval 25°C÷520°C and axial pressure interval 2.5÷60 bar. Single domain state is achieved by application of axial pressure along [100] and [110] directions at temperature near 500°C. Application of axial pressure ~50 bar along [100] direction leads to switching of the samples into anisotropic single domain state. While application of axial pressure ~0.5 bar along [110] direction results in exposition of visually isotropic state and the state is preserved during a cooling process in temperature interval ~500°C÷240°C. In both cases the anisotropic single domain state is observed at room temperature. It is shown that f axial pressure (2.5÷25 bar) application along [110] direction at room temperature leads to a significant increase of the birefringence. It is supposed that both the peculiarities of Δn behavior and the linear behavior of Δn = f(p) are associated with presence of the nanoregions with various orientations of optical indicatrices and their involvement into the orientation process under the action of axial pressure.
