User Generated Content for Site Based Training in Virtual Reality

Objectives/Scope Through a partnership with Global Projects and the ExxonMobil IT, we set out to change the way enabling enhanced site specific operator training and model reviews are done on large complex models. The concept was to have the ability to view and navigate complex green-field 3D CAD models in VR (virtual reality) technology to aid in training, model reviews, procedure development, rounds development, maintenance planning and execution, emergency response planning / drills, and project planning. The automated toolset can be used to conduct model reviews followed by training and preparing operators for commissioning before and after site construction is completed. Methods, Procedures, Process Leveraging the 3D CAD files from Engineering Procurement & Construction (EPC) contractors, the feature set allows the ability to create a fully textured 3D Model walk-through (annotated model review), and a content creation application to easily create user generated training scenarios (similar to PowerPoint drag and drop). In the past few months, 20 onsite stations were setup and over 100 first and second line supervisors and operators leveraged the toolset. Baseline metrics were captured with an overwhelming success. Ongoing metrics collections will continue for several months to drive further adjustments on the toolset to ensure high value capture. This toolset, once fully refined, will allow other capital & global projects the ability to train operators prior to the unit being built and ongoing for operations activities bringing pieces of the Digital Twin concept to life. R 2 corrected AdS2 holography

We approach the problem of constructing an explicit holographic dictionary for the AdS2/CFT1 correspondence in the context of higher derivative gravitational actions in AdS2 space-times. These actions are obtained by an S2 reduction of four-dimensional $$ \mathcal{N} $$ N = 2 Wilsonian effective actions with Weyl squared interactions restricted to constant scalar backgrounds. BPS black hole near-horizon space-times fall into this class of backgrounds, and by identifying the boundary operators dual to the bulk fields, we explicitly show how the Wald entropy of the BPS black hole is holographically encoded in the anomalous transformation of the operator dual to a composite bulk field. Additionally, using a 2d/3d lift, we show that the CFT holographically dual to AdS2 is naturally embedded in the chiral half of the CFT2 dual to the AdS3 space-time, and we identify the specific operator in CFT1 that encodes the chiral central charge of the CFT2.

Long Time-Scale Atomistic Simulations of the Structure and Dynamics of Transcription Factor-DNA Recognition

The present study performs μs-timescale all-atom simulations of the dimeric form of the lactose repressor (LacI), both in the absence of any DNA, and in the presence of both specific and non-specific complexes, considering three different DNA sequences. We examine, specifically, the conformational differences between specific and non-specific protein-DNA interactions, as well as the behavior of the helix-turn-helix motif of LacI when interacting with the DNA. Our simulations suggest that stable LacI binding occurs primarily to bent A-form DNA, with a loss of LacI conformational entropy and optimization of correlated conformational equilibria across the protein. In addition, binding to the specific operator sequence involves a slightly larger number of stabilizing DNA-protein hydrogen bonds (in comparison to non-specific complexes), that may account for the experimentally observed specificity for this operator. In doing so, our simulations provide a detailed atomistic description of potential structural drivers for LacI selectivity.</p>

On the Approximation of Stable and Unstable Fiber Bundles of (Non)Autonomous ODEs — A Contour Algorithm

We propose an algorithm for the approximation of stable and unstable fibers that applies to autonomous as well as to nonautonomous ODEs. The algorithm is based on computing the zero-contour of a specific operator; an idea that was introduced in [Hüls, 2006] for discrete time systems. We present precise error estimates for the resulting contour algorithm and demonstrate its efficiency by computing stable and unstable fibers for a (non)autonomous pendulum equation in two space dimensions. Our second example is the famous three-dimensional Lorenz system for which several approximations of the two-dimensional Lorenz manifold are calculated. In both examples, we observe equally well performance for autonomously and nonautonomously chosen parameters.

Confocal Laser Endomicroscopy in Gastrointestinal and Pancreatobiliary Diseases: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Confocal laser endomicroscopy (CLE) is an endoscopic-assisted technique developed to obtain histopathological diagnoses of gastrointestinal and pancreatobiliary diseases in real time. The objective of this systematic review is to analyze the current literature on CLE and to evaluate the applicability and diagnostic yield of CLE in patients with gastrointestinal and pancreatobiliary diseases. A literature search was performed on MEDLINE, EMBASE, Scopus, and Cochrane Oral Health Group Specialized Register, using pertinent keywords without time limitations. Both prospective and retrospective clinical studies that evaluated the sensitivity, specificity, or accuracy of CLE were eligible for inclusion. Of 662 articles identified, 102 studies were included in the systematic review. The studies were conducted between 2004 and 2015 in 16 different countries. CLE demonstrated high sensitivity and specificity in the detection of dysplasia in Barrett’s esophagus, gastric neoplasms and polyps, colorectal cancers in inflammatory bowel disease, malignant pancreatobiliary strictures, and pancreatic cysts. Although CLE has several promising applications, its use has been limited by its low availability, high cost, and need of specific operator training. Further clinical trials with a particular focus on cost-effectiveness and medicoeconomic analyses, as well as standardized institutional training, are advocated to implement CLE in routine clinical practice.

Application of the Conflict Detection of the Collaborative Design of the Automotive Powertrain System

The collaborative design of the automotive powertrain system is a complex activity, which is involved with multiple disciplines and personnel for completion. Besides, characteristic of multiple goals and no specific operator, design process is inclined to collision, thus collision detection has become critical in collaborative design on the system. In the study, collision factors in the process of collaborative design on the system are analyzed and modeled and a section-based collision detection algorithm is proposed which is competent in detecting collisions in the process of clutch case design.

Research on Account Management System Based on Openldap and SUDO

During our daily management of server cluster, different administrators use the same account (usually root) and password to log on from different remote clients. So logs on servers couldnt trace specific operator once encountering security incident, for only administrator root was recorded. Therefore, its of great practical significance to discuss some new server access methods with multiple administration accounts. Considering the UNIX server cluster management of large enterprises, this paper provides a feasible solution of account management system based on Openldap and SUDO. This system establishes a strict behavior-monitoring framework of each servers operation commands and maintenance process.
