We study the stability of a unique weak solution to certain parabolic systems with nonstandard growth condition, which are additionally dependent on a cross-diffusion term. More precisely, we show that two unique weak solutions of the considered system with different initial values are controlled by their initial values.

We are concerned with the existence of solutions to a class of quasilinear parabolic equations having critical growth nonlinearity with respect to the gradient and variable exponent. Using Schaeffer's fixed point theorem combined with the sub- and supersolution method, we prove the existence results of a weak solutions to the considered problems.

A parabolic equation with nonstandard growth condition is considered. A kind of weak solution and a kind of strong solution are introduced, respectively; the existence of solutions is proved by a parabolically regularized method. The stability of weak solutions is based on a natural partial boundary value condition. Two novelty elements of the paper are both the dependence of diffusion coefficient bx,t on the time variable t, and the partial boundary value condition based on a submanifold of ∂Ω×0,T. How to overcome the difficulties arising from the nonstandard growth conditions is another technological novelty of this paper.

Abstract For a weighted variable exponent Sobolev space, the compact and bounded embedding results are proved. For that, new boundedness and compact action properties are established for Hardy’s operator and its conjugate in weighted variable exponent Lebesgue spaces. Furthermore, the obtained results are applied to the existence of positive eigenfunctions for a concrete class of nonlinear ode with nonstandard growth condition.

In this paper, we study the existence of entropy solutions for some nonlinear $p(x)-$elliptic equation of the type $$Au - \mbox{div }\phi(u) + H(x,u,\nabla u) = \mu,$$ where $A$ is an operator of Leray-Lions type acting from $W_{0}^{1,p(x)}(\Omega)$ into its dual, the strongly nonlinear term $H$ is assumed only to satisfy some nonstandard growth condition with respect to $|\nabla u|,$ here $\>\phi(\cdot)\in C^{0}(I\!\!R,I\!\!R^{N})\>$ and $\mu$ belongs to ${\mathcal{M}}_{0}^{b}(\Omega)$.

AbstractThe paper is devoted to the Dirichlet problem for monotone, in general multivalued, elliptic equations with nonstandard growth condition. The growth conditions are more general than the well-known {p(x)} growth. Moreover, we allow the presence of the so-called Lavrentiev phenomenon. As consequence, at least two types of variational settings of Dirichlet problem are available. We prove results on the existence of solutions in both of these settings. Then we obtain several results on the convergence of certain types of approximate solutions to an exact solution.
