BackgroundCraniopharyngioma (CP) is a challenging intracranial tumor due to its special hypothalamus-pituitary location. Each patient with CP should be evaluated and treated separately. Exploring novel methods of automatized analysis of data for gaining knowledge on any medical field is an encouraging task, particularly in such an extremely challenging tumor as CP. We aim to summary the situations, investigate the research trends and evaluate research hotspots using bibliometric analysis for the CP research.MethodsWe extracted all the CP-related literatures from 2011 to 2020 from the Web of Science database. An Online analysis platform of literature metrology (Bibliometric), BICOMB, gCLUTO and CiteSpace softwares were used to do bibliometric analysis. As a supplement, we also analyzed the top 100 cited case reports with particular and certainly infrequent information to improve the analysis.ResultsAccording to our retrieval strategy, we found a total of 1262 CP-related literatures. The United States has maintained a leading position in global CP research, followed by China and Germany. Among institutions, Capital Med Univ, St Jude Childrens Res Hosp and Southern Med Univ rank in the top 3 in terms of the number of articles published. “WORLD NEUROSURGERY” is the most popular journal for CP-related research. Moreover, MULLER HL, MERCHANT TE, QI ST and others have made great achievements in the study of CP. Finally, we did biclustering analysis on keywords and identified 4 CP research hotspot clusters.ConclusionsOur research provides a comprehensive analysis of the scientific progress of CP in the past 10 years, and insight into the development of CP research field, highlight research trends over time, and help identify valuable future directions.

Background: Approximately 50% of cataracts are associated with genetic factors. Genetic etiology and molecular mechanisms based on gene research increase the understanding of cataracts and provide direction for diagnosis and intervention. In the present study, SCIE papers related to the modeling of cataract gene research from 2010–2019 were evaluated and qualitative and quantitative analyses with modeling performed. Methods: The SCIE database was searched on July 6, 2021 for cataract gene publications and relevant papers published since 2010 were considered for review. Subsequently, 1,904 SCIE papers associated with cataract genes from 2010–2019 were analyzed using a bibliometric method. The publication, country, institution, journal, references, knowledgebase, keywords, and research hotspots of the papers were analyzed using an online analysis platform of literature metrology, bibliographic item co-occurrence matrix builder (BICOMB), CiteSpace V, and VOS viewer analysis tool. Results: 78 countries published the related articles, and the United States ranks of America had the most publications. Two thousand seven hundred and eighty three institutions contributed to the related publications. Fudan University had the most publications. The reference clusters of SCI papers were clustered into six categories, namely, causing congenital cataract-microcornea syndrome, functional snp, cataractous lenses, a1 mutation, foxe3 mutation, cell adhesion gene pvrl3, nid1 gene. The key words representing the research frontiers were cerebrotendinous xanthomatosis (2017-2019), oxidative stress (2017–2019).Conclusion: This study provided a systematic, objective and comprehensive analysis of the literature related to gene research of cataract. Moreover, this study demonstrated the current hotspots and the future trends in the field of gene research of cataract. This review will help ophthalmologist to discern the dynamic evolution of cataract gene research, as well as highlight areas for future research.

Currently, transdisciplinary integration has become increasingly close, and has gradually become the source of innovation. At the same time, petroleum engineering technologies demand more new technologies like functional materials and electronic information technologies. In order to effectively promote technological innovation and development of the petroleum engineering, it is important to continuously monitor, analyze and evaluate the latest development of the technologies outside of the oil and gas industry. This paper combines qualitative analysis of onsite demands, application cases, technical characteristics, and quantitative analysis of literature metrology, patent evaluation, technology maturity, to evaluate the application prospects of densified wood, liquid metal and poly (thioctic acid) in the field of petroleum engineering, and specific transdisciplinary suggestions are put forward. It is recommended to carry out pre-research work for the potential application of functional materials in the petroleum engineering, and it is expected to introduce new materials for downhole tools, new antennas for downhole instruments, extend long-term effectiveness of downhole plugging, and improve drilling efficiency.

Abstract Background In recent decades, the 5-year survival rate of osteosarcoma remains poor, despite the variety of operations, and exploration of drug therapy has become the key to improvement. This study investigates the contribution of different aspects in osteosarcoma and cure, and predicts research hotspots to benefit future clinical outcomes. Methods The Web of Science and PubMed databases were queried to collect all relevant publications related to osteosarcoma and cure from 2009 to 2019. These data were imported into CiteSpace and the Online Analysis Platform of Literature Metrology for bibliometric analysis. Bi-clustering was performed on Bibliographic Item co-occurrence Matrix Builder (BICOMB) and gCLUTO to identify hotspots. Additionally, completed clinical trials on osteosarcoma with results past phase II were collated. Results A total of 2258 publications were identified in osteosarcoma and cure from 2009 to 2019. China has the largest number of publications (38.49%), followed by the United States (23.03%) with the greatest impact (centrality = 0.44). The centrality of most institutions is < 0.1, and Central South University and Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center possess the highest average citation rates of 3.25 and 2.87. BMC cancer has the highest average citation rate of 3.26 in 772 journals. Four authors (Picci P, Gorlick R, Bielack SS and Bacci G) made the best contributions. We also identified eight hotspots and collected 41 clinical trials related to drug research on osteosarcoma. Conclusions The urgent need exists to strengthen global academic exchanges. Overcoming multidrug resistance in osteosarcoma is the focus of past, present and future investigations. Transformation of the metastasis pattern, microenvironment genetics mechanism, alternative methods of systemic chemotherapy and exploration of traditional Chinese medicine is expected to contribute to a new upsurge of research.

At present, many researchers focus on UV/H2O2 technology which is used to treat wastewater. In this paper, using “UV” and “Hydrogen Peroxide” as key words, all literatures in EI Index from 1969 to 2011 were searched by principle of literature metrology analysis. A detailed analysis was carried out in view of the year, journal, institution, country and language to reveal the status of international research and development on this technology. The statistics results show that a total of 1936 articles is published in 42 years and the literature number has increased year by year. The most articles were published in the last 10 years. Chinese researcher publishes the most articles all over the word. University is the main publication institution and English is the main language. Most of the articles were published on Journal of Hazardous Materials, Water Research and Water Science & Technology.
