Artikel ini merupakan hasil penelitian awal dari proyek pembangunan sebuah Sistem Personal Assistant Ketua Program Studi yang bertujuan untuk: menghasilkan sebuah rancangan atau desain prototipe sistem personal assistant bagi ketua program studi sebagai pemanfaatan dari borang isian akreditasi progam studi yang selalu dipersiapkan secara periodik ketika melakukan akreditasi atau reakreditasi program studi, membantu ketua program studi melakukan pengelolaan program studi sekaligus memonitoring dan mengevaluasi capaian program studi yang dipimpinnya, dan membantu mempersiapkan pengajuan akreditasi kembali secara cepat.  Analisa dan desain  menggunakan metode berorientasi objek dengan bantuan Visual Paradigm, sedangkan prototipe dengan teknik digital mockup dibuat melalui software Justinmind.  Penelitian ini menghasilkan sebuah prototipe sistem Personal Assistant dalam bentuk konsep dan digital mock up.

A digital mockup of hard rock tunnel boring machine was built in order to study the design method of these large equipments. Technology of digital mockup is introduced and the application background and practical requirement of tunnel boring machine has been discussed in this paper. The kinematics model and FEM model were built based on this digital mockup. The results of simulation experiment can be used to provide pre-feasibility validation and optimization of the equipment.

The method of modeling is the key technology for digital mockup (DMU). Based upon the developing for mechanical product DMU, the theory, method and approach for virtual environment (VE) and virtual object (VO) were studied. This paper has expounded the design goal and architecture of DMU system, analyzed the method of DMU application, and researched the general process of physics modeling and behavior modeling.

The model of extracting a skeleton of mechanism is established from an existed three-dimensional CAD product model. Using assembly features, a recomposition of assembly information is carried out. At same time, geometric primitives are defined and classified. And according to the information, kinematic pairs are distinguished and matched. Using the given methods, a prototype system extracting and drawing a skeleton of mechanism is developed. Extracting a skeleton of mechanism from digital mockup has been realized primarily, which can deal with rotation pair, sliding pair, gear pair and multi-pair components consisting of these kinematic pairs. Finally, the paper demonstrates the feasibility of extracting a skeleton of mechanism by an application instances.
